If anything like that happens, theres always the lady that dirtmouth who will trade a rancid egg for bring your shade back to that room. This has saved me so much of geo so many times.
Okay, so even though this is a pretty good method I would also reccomend going to the bottom of kingdoms edge to the road that lead to one of the nailmasters and just start killing hoppers in that area. They give less than those big guys but hoppers are easier to kill and there are more in the area. They also respawn very quickly so when you re-enter the area right after leaving they're all back. (Ignore the big hoppers they're not worth it)
I came to write this. They're super easy to kill and you can run a route which gets you 700 geo per run in around 2 minutes. Not quite as fast as some of these, but basically skill free and 99% safe. After your first round of 15k you can run unbreakable strenght, quickslash and fragile greed to maximise the run. Enter kingdoms edge and got to the bottom right of the open area, kill all the hoppers until you have the option to go up, do that. Kill the 2 to the right near the black gate, then go all the way left killing everything you see. Leave the area when you can then go back in and repeat on the way back. The hoppers respawn but the primal assholes don't.
I was able to get a little over 2k geo in 7 minutes farming the small hoppers in this area (using fragile greed). Just start at the bottom of the acid area with all the boofly’s, go to the right killing all the hoppers until you get to the hole with the bees, jump down to respawn the hoppers and then farm your way back to the acid lake. Just repeat this small section over and over
Found another pretty good way to farm Geo. There is a bench in City of Tears just above and right of statue of Hollow Knight. If you clear adjacent room on the right of the bench you'll make 2,5k Geo at given 7,5 mins.
I had more than 10,000 geo a couple of times in late game but because there's nothing to spent on I end up ditching them. It's kinda funny how I met Divine shortly after ditching 12,000 geo.
I had the same except I didn't ditch it on purpose, I lost my first ever shade when I got stuck inside an invisible bee on the way back to the bee boi boss fight. I was like "it's fine I can't be too upset" and then I saw what divine was demanding and I wanted to cry again haha
Unrelated to the vid, but seldom do i see a content creator actually take the time to read through and reply to most if not all his commenters. Good on you relyea and i appreciate how close you are with your subscribers. You just got another subscriber
thank you so much! sorry for the late reply. was sick earlier this week. getting caught up now. I cant imagine where I would be if I DIDNT take the time to reply to all the comments. A lot of video ideas come from the comments. it is good to connect with the audience
Another easier way to farm Geo is from the Hoppers in Kingdom's Edge. Actually you can farm in 2 spots. The little hoppers outside the Colosseum going down or the Giant Hoppers (+ some little ones) near the Nailmaster. Hoppers give a nice amount of Geo and the mini are super easy to kill.
My favourite method for farming is in kindoms edge at the bottom where all of the hoppers are, they each give 16 without fragile greed and there are so many and they respawn just by leaving an area and u don't need to rest on a bench
Sorry for commenting so late, but extremely early on (Greenpath levels of earliness) just above the stag station there are respawnable Moss Warrior thingies that drop 45 geo each. You can kill 3 of them in like two minutes, rest at a bench and continue. Extremely useful when you don’t have access to the areas shown in this video/ lost your shade with a lot of it. It is very slow but in the early game still the best.
Yeah those two moss warriors are great for early game - I used em to get the lantern Late game though the best seems to be flukes next to the failed tramway - where you get the tram pass. There's a bench to the right, so all you have to do is fly over and you run into two of em flying who puke out like 5 lil guys each before just running into you themselves. Then there's four more in the next room to the left that you do all together. It's 500 geo each trip, only lasting a couple mins. If you back up against a wall they all have to come at you from the front and you can just mash the attack button and watch something else. I quickly got all my charms unbreakable through this.
Well, I started Hollow knight recently and god damn I was so lost, then I found your channel, and you're putting so much time to answer as much as possible, and makes you even more amazing, you just got a new subscriber(even if its kinda like... Years later)
I died when fighting Hive Knight. I had 9000 geo. I went back to Hive Knight to get my shade. I died again along the way. I am still cursing myself for not getting Unbreakable Greed.
if you die and really want that geo back easily, go to the far right from the starting city (dirtmouth) and see the lady inside that locked door. the locked door requires a simple key which can be bought from Sly in the main starting city. she will bring the shade to you if you give her a rancid egg. just in case you didnt know!!
nah you aren't dumb! there are 4 simple keys total in the game, and it doesn't really matter which ones you use on which. im pretty sure none of them are needed to beat the game. Sly's simple key was just the only one I could remember.
I found grinding the Abandoned Tramway in Deepnest to be an effective farming ground. With Fragile greed on I was averaging 430 geo every time I went from the bench to were you pick up the tram pass. There is also a small detour for some life blood if you are afraid of dying or have a low level nail
I totally understand. I want to give them my money and support the game as much as i can. I think helping spread the good word that is hollow knight helps
Wow I started farming geo way too early in the game. I thought I needed the lantern to progress out of the forgotten crossroads so I farmed that big guy right above the crossroads stag station. He gave like 50 geo every trip and I did that till I had 1800 geo.
@@mastermeep4294 but theres only 2 of them? I'm further on than my last comment. I'd rather die than kill the mantis since now they bow to me. And greenpath hasnt given me a challenge in a while. I use the trial of warrior since its the only trial of the fool i dont have to think about when grinding. I'm grinding for unbreakable strength and hggghhh its so many geo
if you go to the forgotten cross roads sageway go up and left to the mini boss and kill him the go to the bench you will easy get oprox. 70 geo Avery 30 seconds and this can be done at the vary start of the game
you can farm even earlier - killing 2 moss knights in greenpath right before hornet 1 gives you 80 geo w/o fragile greed and bench is super close it’s a little tedious but very good for early lantern
G'Day Relyea and thanks for this. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play much Hollow Knight since November due to an injury, but as soon as I get the strength back in my hand, I'll be giving this a good go. Still nowhere near completion, but Hollow Knight saved my life last year, so I'll forever be grateful to Team Cherry plus yourself for the wonderful walkthoughs. Can't wait for Silksong too.
Y’know I come to your videos and then you say how to do something , but then you put more helpful info on the subject and I find It helpful. You’ve earned yourself another subscriber
pro tip, just let your mind fill in the blank, and dont go back a second time after collecting every grub. your dreams will no longer be dreams for as long as you live my friend.
@@smart_idiot8204 Actually, the acheivement is called "metamorphosis", and you get the "gruberfly's elegy" charm, so its safe to say that this is just metamorphosis, and not a father devouring his children.
Really nice video. Though when farming The Kings Station you forget to enter the room on the platform over the spa. There are many easy mobs there which you can kill with 1shot and loot is a total of 63g(with greed equipped). Think when farming in The Kings Station you can equip better charms for more dps. I useally use: Mob farming) - Dreamshield - Grimmchild - unbreakable/fragile strength - unbreakable/fragile greed - gathering swarm Fool arena farming) - Dreamshield - Grimmchild - unbreakable/fragile strength - Mark of Pride I have not datamined and monitored all my farming but useally i can do, Kings: in 01.44.15 for 535Geo(5,14GEO/S) Fool1: in 04.15.79 for 1084Geo(4,23GEO/S) Fool2: in 06.03.64 for 2010Geo(5,52GEO/S) Fool3: in 10.07.69 for 3020Geo(4,97GEO/S) So yeah Fools2 is better than The Kings Station. But when I farm i typically space out, get tired, get impatient and loose focus. So because of this fact I whould always recommend The Kings Station for farming. Because if loose focus and die then the time spend is not a total waste like in the arena since the mobs in the arena do not give you GEO only the completion does.
I died with 25k worth of Geo, I wanted to buy everything ASAP early on so I spent some time farming mobs so in the end, before I met the Troupe, I was with that amount and died twice, losing it all. Now there's no money stashed anywhere and the grubs are all done and all of that, so leave an F for me because yikes
For early early game if you get the fragile greed in the forgotten crossroads there's 2 husk guards near the stag station and they give 54 Geo a pop so that's 756 in 7.5 minutes cause it really only take 1.5 minutes each run its pretty good for early game
Not sure if it was mentioned below, but just in case - a great early-game geo farm is near the greenpath stag station. Go out and up, continue upward, defeating the moss charger and up another platform and there are two moss knights to the left in an enclosed little area in there. Simply defeat them for 80 geo total (more with fragile greed). Helped me get the lumafly lantern pretty quick.
I started playing Hollow Knight a few weeks ago and I can't believe that in February 2019 everybody already thought that Silksong was around the corner 😭
I know I’m late but here’s my method Go to the Greenpath stag Station and sit on the bench and go up and right Kill the moss charger that jumpscared me(8g w/greed) Kill the two moss knights on top(51g per with greed) Then go right to the room which has another moss knight Go back to the room with the two moss knights but go the bottom path Kill the mosscreep (3g w/greed,seems worthless but still,it’s in Greenpath) Then go back to the bench in the stag Station Then repeat One route is 164g
Relyea hey also could you help me? I can’t seem to get into junk pit,I already killed the pale guy in the godmaster dlc,so I know I have the dlc,but I can’t access junkpit, thanks in advance
Awesome! If you go to kings station then go past the broken bench place, through the wall into King's Edge, then find the Hoppers. Keep killing them over and over in 2 different rooms and you can get a lot of Geo. They drop around 15 each.
To beat those big bug with shield quickly, you should use Sharp Shadow, Nailmaster's Glory with max nail leveled up by the smith. Charge your nail and wait for him to attack. When he's in prepare position dash behind him then strike. It take 3 dashes and 2 charge strikes. And you won't waste time with weak enemies by dashing though them Edit: And you should also use Sprintmaster and Dashmaster to move around quickly so you won't waste time just to move to the next enemy
The fastest way to farm geo I found (looking for it for the NKG charms) was by farming hoppers in the room under the outside of the coliseum of fools. With a greed charm and the gathering charm, I make 200 geo every 30 seconds by entering the room from the top left corner of the climb in kingdom's edge; kill the bats first (they don't respawn); kill the 3 on the bottom, then the 3 on the floating platform, then C-dash from the top level of the platform to the left side and kill the last 3; then C-dash and exit right and reenter. You can go out the top as well for a faster farm route but that way requires more attention or healing.
My go-to farming method is to travel to greenpath and go up then right to the 2 Moss Knights above. I try not to activate the second one then defeat the first one. After that, if I haven't had to heal I use three vengeful spirits to finish the last one off quickly and easily. Gets you 80 geo around every 30 seconds. Great method, and you get quite a bit more if you use fragile greed!
You can do the exact route you did in 1:14 seconds. Just use Sharp shaddow, sprintmaster and dashmaster. Then just dash and slash your way through the route.
Best farming way you need the fragile greed and go to deep nest and go to the failed tramway and you can find 4 spit worm guys you got to get them all on your tail and go where you find the tram pass and if you go to the top right and the roof very small you can hit them in the tram while their outside Recommend Divine eats it first
Very early on I used the two husk guard in forgotten crossroads after beating false knight. It’s on a path that basically loops. About 100+ per run which is helpful then for charms and notches to give that extra edge. Even got the lumafly lamp before greenpath I think
@relyea what I usually do is I go to the stag station at greenpath I go up and fight those big knights that usually drop 40 geo whenever killed but if you equip the fragile greed then they drop 51 each and if you have a strong nail or a strong way of killing them it’s very fast and very efficient! This is one of my favorite methods to use.
lol, thank you for including the guy that buys artifacts, I totally forgot about him and have a bunch of stuff to sell. Unbreakable strength here I come!
Personally, I think the path to the Nailmaster Oro is a better place for farming Geos, because the small Hoppers always respawn when leaving and going back to the room, and when you kill four Hoppers with the Fragile/Unbreakable Greed charm, you get around 100 Geos. It's easy, not that dangerous if you only focus on the small Hoppers, and fast. It's also right next to the Coliseum of Fools, so it's not that far.
Another really good Video Relyea. Another place I found really good for farming geo is in Deepnest between the bench and where you get tram pass it is easy money fighting the Carver Hatcher's and in that area if you jump up you also have a lifeblood cocoon. Sitting at bench respawns the enemies go fight them come back sit at bench :). It is very easy in this game to forget your primary purpose and think that geo is everything and end all. Especially if you have died somewhere that is difficult to get your shade back... Yes early on Geo is helpful especially as trying to build up skills etc and later in game it becomes oh well doesnt matter. For someone starting out ... I would suggest one of the best things you can do is go and find a simple key ( Relyea has done a very good video on locations of the simple key ) and also find Jiji and unlock access to her... That way if your shade is in an impossible place to get back you can still get your shade back and your geo by going to jiji. I think everyone if is honest will have lost geo at some point through loosing their shade a second time ( if you die before you get your shade recovered after previously dying then you loose all geo that shade had, also never hit your shade with the dream nail...that is instant death for your shade) I myself lost it a couple of times with large amounts of geo on it 65,000 on one and 47000 on other time. It is all part of the game and all part of the learning :)
Great tips! Especially with recovering the shade cloak. I need to do a video on that for sure. I missed it for a very long time. Also, I can’t believe you lost so much geo! I would have been quite upset
@@RelyeaGaming hehe oh I am not saying the air was not blue with the words coming out of my mouth... as it most surely was... very much so moreso as the geo was for turning the breakable charms into unbreakable. But i did not have to let it build up so much, I had noone to blame but myself. Although one of the shades was in an impossible place to get could not even get into that place it was.... a tip if you can see the shade but cannot get to it as is in middle of room (happens often especially with mini bosses, and do not want to go right into the room to trigger the mini boss ) try hitting it with likes of shade soul to get its attention. Also if you "lose" your shade soul as have died a second time before recovered your shade... It will NOT be in the same location as it was. Generally it will be closer. For Boss fights if you die then the shade should not be in the "arena" area of the fight but just outside it....
@@RelyeaGaming oh yes for sure. From what have since read from Team Cherry it is meant to be outside the arena area with boss's but not for anything else. I do not know how many times have died trying to recover my shade from a mini boss.... in end what did was simply forget the mini boss just recover shade. once got shade then worried about the fight... until learnt if you stayed near side which normally does not trigger the mini boss as generally you have to be near or over the middle of the area.... just enter the arena so just inside jump up and fire a shade soul shot to get shades attention.... it will then track towards you, but do not be too far away from it otherwise it will just return to where was and then just let it follow you out of the arena area also note if you are too far away you are likely to be attacked by the shade which will launch a shade soul attack at you..... Once had my shade appear in a black space... nothing i could do to get it out of there trying hitting it but couldnt as was a wall between us... tried shade soul at it but again wall so couldnt hit it.... in the end went to jiji and got it back that way
I like to farm those jumpy guys in kings end. Its so quick and easy just back and forth between nail sages bench and over till you see the downward path then turn back and go sit on bench walk in and out or sages house and repeated. Love seeing your method and tips. Much love
My personal method that has worked very well for me and isn’t hard to do is killing the little jumping bugs in the kingdom edge. They drop 16 geo each and 23 with unbreakable greed. My go to spot to farm them is the top left room on kingdom edge. It’s the room that leads up to the long tunnel with the colosseum at the right side. All you have to do is go into the room (if you start at the top side) kill the 4 hoppers on the top left side, then move to the top right side of the room then there’s a hole in between the 2 sides that you can drop through and kill the rest on the bottom floor. Then there’s another exit on the bottom right that you can use to respawn them. It’s probably not as efficient as the colosseum but it’s a lot easier. (Ps. There is a breakable wall on the left side of the hole in the middle with a big hopper inside)
Hello. I love your videos! I recently subscribed cause your tutorials are concise and smooth. I have a great Geo Farm that doesn't require resting at a bench. Kingdom's Edge: Right of pitfall with acid. There are a total of 21-22 Hoppers in the following path. 21 × 23 = 483 This can be done in less than a minute if you're quick enough with Dash master + Sharp Shadow Or Strength + Nailmaster's Glory. Ceiling x 4 Right × 7 Up (next area) Right × 2 Left × 3 Up × 2 Up (next area) Right × 1 Up Left × 2 Each time you enter a new subsection of Kingdom's Edge these guys respawn without the use of a bench. Just backtrack to the acid pit then rinse and repeat. I recommend listening to music with volume off while doing this. I listened to Death Squad - Lil Darkie. Surely one song and 10k paired wrecking mayhem lol.
Every time I go to the colosseum to try(and fail) the trial of the fool, I always beat the previous two trials because I really want unbreakable strength. It’s a major part of my grey prince Zote strategy, and I came close to beating him without it so I should be able to demolish him with it.(I’m on Grey Prince Zote 3) I’m also planning on using it for the radiance along with shaman stone, and finally I’m planning on taking it for colosseum or fools once I finally get hiveblood.
Relyea what’s kind of funny is about 30 minutes after I made this comment, I beat the trial! I definitely took unbreakable heart and soul catcher, but apart from those two the only one I remember is Grubsong. It pushed me up to the 15k necessary for unbreakable strength, and with that after an hour of grinding I beat the radiance. Then after another 45 minutes of grinding I used a build I called Weaverking(Weaversong, Grubsong, Sprintmaster, Shape of Unn, Grimmchild, Spore Shroom, Unbreakable Heart) to beat Nightmare King Grimm. Somehow I did all of that in one day when just last week I spent over an hour searching for flukemarm and another hour failing at the floorless segment in trial of the fool.
A good way I found to farm geo is very early game in green path. Go northeast from the stag station here and you will come upon 2 Moss knights in a corridor together. Killing them gets you 50 geo each, and for such an early game area this can be very helpful if you need some spare geo quickly.
Late to the party, I know; but I found it interesting that I stumbled across a similar route independently. Its not as profitable, but imo much safer to run. (Coiled nail, gathering swarm, fragile greed, shaman stone, & mark of pride) Starting from the bench in the Watcher's Spire head east, taking out enemies along the way (DDing the sentry is helpful here, but not needed) and through the exit to the north, take the upper pathway to the west side of the room & slip past the GHS & take out the lesser enemies, exit the way you came in, drop down onto the Heavy Sentry with a Desolate Dive (this should kill the Lance Sentry attached to the other side of the wall as well), head east & follow the path down to floor level dropping enemies along the way. Take the southward exit at the west side of the room, jump over to the central part of the room and do another DD to take out the enemies below. Then head back up to the bench, and repeat. Generates 300-400 geo/run & takes a little under 2 min.
Team cherry made all of this awesome stuff as part of their kickstarter campaign! Colluseum of fools was a milestone of their kickstarter but they didn't receive enough money for it but their love for this game made them do it! They also said that the next game of theirs will release in 10 years but THIS IS TEAM CHERRY so they r releasing it next year! This shows that if you have passion and commitment to a game you don't need some multi-billion pound budget to make it!
Bum Big a good strategy is collecting relics. Desolate dive on the ground in the area just out of the dung defender’s arena to the right. It opens up an area with a sleeping dung defender on the left and a King’s idol on the right. Seer gives you an arcane egg if you upgrade the Dream nail enough. I think there might be one in the white palace, and you can find a few in the ancient basin and abyss. Arcane eggs are worth 1200 geo each, and King’s idols are worth 800.
Above the greenpath stagway there are 2 moss knights. Killing them both will give you 80 and killing them both with the fragile/unbreakable greed will give you 102 geo and is accesible early on and killing both takes about 30 seconds
There is a bench directly underneath the walkway connecting the soul sanctum and the watchers spire. If you rest at that bench and then kill eveeything in the room (except enemies on the lowest floor) you can get 214 geo every 35 seconds with the right setup. Fragile Greed, Wandering Geo, Shaman Stone, Soul Eater, and any 1 notch charm of your choice. Basically, go down through the back and forth area, then kill the defender husk with two dark descents and some nail strikes. Then you can either kill both of the winged gaurds in the center room with one abyss shriek or use one spell for each of them. If you still have soul you can snipe the big husk gaurd through the wall above the broken elevator with a vengeful spirit.
Thanks for the tips!!! I'm near end game but whenever I do a fresh run I could always do the City of Tears run you made up 🙂 Also good to know about the colosseum!
I found a method and i don’t know if someone talked about it You go the Greenpath station when you go up you’ll find two Moss knights when you kill them w/ Greed charm and go back the station that’s like 100 Geo a minute And there is no danger if go to the Mosscreep route
In green path if u go to the stag and go up just a bit you kind kill two of the shield guys (idk what they’re called) per time and the bench is really close (with Un-upgraded nail you can kill them both in a total of about 1-2 minutes per loop) (they give 40 geo each without the fragile greed for a total of 80) (this is very early game considering this spot is right outside the hornet boss room)
The failed tramway is really good early game because you can hide in the room furthest to the left and attack them through the ceiling/wall without them being able to attack you. This will get you 200 geo in around a minute.
Before you get the infested crossroads (I'm so sad😭😭😭) you can go to the crossroads stag station, and in the room above the station there is a husk guard, and he drops 45 geo, not sure how much with the greed charm though. But this is a really good farming strat for very early game.
I know this is much later after the video was posted. I found that you can get 500 in that same area in city of tears and got it down to around 1:40-1:50min per cycle. The cycle depends on your damage however. The important note is to enter the upper room with the 4 mobs. They re-spawn as well after benching yourself and give around 60ish geo. Still a good spot but matches coliseum efficiency depending on your damage.
I usually go to kingdom’s edge go to oro’s bench and equip gathering swarm nail master’s glory and all fragile charms (9 notches total) and then go murder every enemy in that exact room 11 hoppers 2 primal aspids and 4 great hoppers for the aspids if you have upgraded your nail 3 times then great slash will one shot them for the hoppers just go in front of them and use cyclone smash if all five hits land it should kill them (unless you only have first nail upgrade which only needs 250 geo) And for the great hoppers when they jump walk past them and charge cyclone smash and then unleash it when they’re about to land and if you don’t whiff it 3 cyclone smashes (which is why you should use nail masters glory)should be enough unless you haven’t upgraded your nail at all then go to oro’s bench again sit on it go in his room and go out then the enemies will respawn you can get about 500 geo every loop and it takes about 2 minutes
You can do the thicc red knight way two times faster if you go flukenest + shaman stone. Those big guys die in two hits, which makes a single run about 500 geo per min. That is way faster than Colosseum. My personal build is flukenest +shaman stone + soul eater + dashmaster + greed
My method of farming is an early game one and it is the husk guard by the forgotten crossroads. The things you need are the vengeful spirit and I recommend to have fragile greed and gathering swarm. Next go to the room to the right of the bench. Then clear the entire room you should get 24 normally (50 with fragile greed) since you are clearing the room twice. Once you are finished with the room enter the husk guards room kill him. Make sure you have a full soul bar in the fight, use all of your vengeful spirit then hit him three times, that should replenish enough soul to finish him with vengeful spirit. You should get 45 geo (54 with fragile greed) next go to the left of the husk guard room and you should see 1 leaping husk and 4 wandering husks kill those for a total of 12, 24 with fg then head back to the bench kill the enemies that respawned and save you should make 128 every 2-3 mins using this technique
A farming strategy I've been using because I'm terrible at video games: There's a secret area full of Mistakes above the room to the right of where you enter the Soul Master boss fight (Where you get the Soul Twister charm) It's accessible early-game and good for people like me who aren't usually very good at video game combat
go to the failed tramway, sit at bench, work your way to the tram where you got the card from, ignore the enemies before you enter through the door with the switch after. start grouping all the enemies from then on until you get to the tram. get inside the tram, wait until all the mothers spawn their max amount of spawns then upstrike them until they die. go back the the bench ignoring the enemies you have ignored before. You can get 344 geo every 2 minutes, 10,320 per hour, or 1720 per 10 minutes Edit: You need green charm, i think nail lengthening charms also help
I do have a method that seems to come close to rivaling the second colosseum trial. Doing it I get around 1,000 Geo every 4 minutes or so. It involves using fragile greed in kingdoms edge. It might not be QUITE as fast as the colosseum but it’s close (I did the math) and it’s safer (no real chance of dying). I can explain it in better detail if you’d like. Edit-I think it might actually be faster than your colosseum method once you get it down.
This is an easy method that if you know how to fight moss knights, your golden for awhile. Right above the green path stag station are 2 moss knights in the room above. With the greed charm if you kill them both you get about 100 geo per minute.
My favorite early game route is near the “forgotten crossroads’ stagway”all you do is go between the stagway and the room up and to the left while killing the big guy every time you do
If you go in the room above the pleasure house there's a bunch of bugs to cut down and they drop 63 extra geo, with the pure nail one-hitting all but on of them. With the shortened time because of the upgraded nail and the added geo I was able to get 484 geo in 1 minute and 49 seconds (rounding up to 1:50 for easier math and because it was like 1:49.7). assuming I got the same, if not a better time on a no-hit run, I would be making 1,936 geo every 7 minutes and 20 seconds. While ever so slightly less then the CoF farm, it's almost negligent, so I'd say if you're farming geo for the any reason and are maxed out, either run is good and is up to personal preference or if you get bored of doing one, you can switch to the other farm for some variety. PS. In the back of the same room with all the ladybugs, there's a golden bug that drops a fat 500 geo and I just found this out during testing! This game keeps reveling stuff to me and I love it! I just wish it wasn't in the middle of testing as I had to do the run AGAIN 😤. Edit: also, if you're really good at pogoing, you can also equip fragile/unbreaking strangth for and even faster time and making this farm just better, but stick with the original times if you're like me and get hit almost every time.
This is sortha late but I'm plenty excited because of Silksong incoming... so, I'd recommend in the second method (City of tears) starting from up going through the platforms and getting down where two enemies are close. It's easier to jump down than getting up (matter of second, in that grinding it would be lotta time). And also suggest about using divine Howling Wraiths when you kill those guys, it helps af. Great video Relyea, hope you keep us up to date with Silksong! Greetings from Colombia.
I can't wait for silksong. I share any news I hear ASAP. Haven't heard anything in a month or so. Wont expect to hear anything until a Nintendo Direct or E3
If you use this guide, these are some tips I discovered. 1) Against the Great Husk Sentry, you can: hit the shield, atack while walking towards him, dash back, approach him and attack twice. If he doble attacks, you will get a free doble attack in return, 100% safe, as long as you dont mess upp this loop 2) My personal favourite: hit shield, attack, dash towards him and take the hit (this will make you lose 1 mask instead of two) you can hit him while you are invulnerable, you might get a parry and deal increased damage, and if he attacks twice you can hit from 3 to 4 times in a row, before repeating the process These tips helped me collect 8000 geos in 40 minutes or so, having the 2000 upgrade nail
if you don't want to do the coloseum go to kings station and go up to the rooms leading to the vessel frag clear those rooms and your good charms: dash master sprint master long nail (or pride) gread and swarm
Directly above the greenpath station there's 2 greenlpath shield dudes. They're very weak, and easy to kill. And WITHOUT fragile greed they give you 40 each. WITH fragile greed its around 64 each. And it takes me about 30-40 seconds to go from the bench, kill them, and back to the bench. Averaging about 1,344 to 1,792 every 7 min. Pretty good for early game.
Recommendation: Using nail arts on the big boys in the city can work way easier than bouncing on their heads. Just jump behind them with a nail art charged when they try to attack you (also having nailmaster's glory will make it way easier as well)
I've got one earlier but it dons't give a lot but can still be quite fast and very helpfull and most of all it's very safe for casual players. In the "mushroom zone, buy and equip the charms you told about (more geo and geo comes to you) then just stay in the zone by going down to beat the big mushroom on the left path then go down one screen then one other screen on the right and beat all the medium mushrooms plus the 2 smalls and go bac to the selle to rest then do it again and again, it's quite fast, very safe and each time it gets you arond 120 geos. not a lot but when you want to buy something like charm emplacement or mask fragment it can help.
Just got into this game, super early farming in green path , above the drag station where those 2 lead knights are super fast way to get about a hundred a minute and you can do this extremely early . Not a ton of geo but if you willing to grind for a little bit to get yourself some stuff early on it helps
There is also another way to farm geos : go to kingdom's edge and kill all the hoppers you find. Each one makes you win 15 geos, and there are lots and lots of them. So then you just have to imagine the best places to go to find many, and do round-trips
I found that doing the Trial of Warriors usually only takes around 3:30-4 minutes to do on average, and you get 1,000 geo for that one. It's much easier than doing the Trial of Fools
for REALLY early game you can farm geo by going at the forgotten crossroads stag station benching, getting soul from enemies as fighting the knight above you,he usually gives 45 geo but you can use gree for better results

(Ignore the big hoppers they're not worth it)
Ahhh that makes sense. I forgot that hoopers respawn just from changing screens.
I just used the dummy outside the nail masters thing, it spawns 2 if you beat it enough times, and there is a bench near by
I came to write this.
Just repeat this small section over and over
Just hide in a place where they can’t reach and spam nail-attack
for those with shade cloak, it's easier if you just spam attack on the guard and dash through it when it strikes
Even better if you have sharp shadow
Ya
Found another pretty good way to farm Geo.
There is a bench in City of Tears just above and right of statue of Hollow Knight. If you clear adjacent room on the right of the bench you'll make 2,5k Geo at given 7,5 mins.
Not bad at all!
This is the method I used to get all 3 unbreakable charms!
I wish I could still get the unbreakable charms. Didn't know that was a thing before I banished them.

Yes! That I a great tip

My favourite method for farming is in kindoms edge at the bottom where all of the hoppers are, they each give 16 without fragile greed and there are so many and they respawn just by leaving an area and u don't need to rest on a bench
This is another method that I should have added in. Thank you for sharing
Yeah those two moss warriors are great for early game - I used em to get the lantern
Late game though the best seems to be flukes next to the failed tramway - where you get the tram pass.
@@organizerbmo Thank you for this. I accidentally gave away my Fragile Greed so I had to find an easy farm

The same thing happened to me btw
if you die and really want that geo back easily, go to the far right from the starting city (dirtmouth) and see the lady inside that locked door. the locked door requires a simple key which can be bought from Sly in the main starting city. she will bring the shade to you if you give her a rancid egg. just in case you didnt know!!
ericsbuds, I needed the key from the Lurker.
I used the one from Sly to free Godseeker.
Yeah, I’m dumb like that.
nah you aren't dumb! there are 4 simple keys total in the game, and it doesn't really matter which ones you use on which. im pretty sure none of them are needed to beat the game. Sly's simple key was just the only one I could remember.
My good boy Releya has blessed us with a giveaway for silksong and a geo farm. Nice man.
I do my best. I hope that you enjoy. Let me know if there is anything you want to see next.
I found grinding the Abandoned Tramway in Deepnest to be an effective farming ground. With Fragile greed on I was averaging 430 geo every time I went from the bench to were you pick up the tram pass. There is also a small detour for some life blood if you are afraid of dying or have a low level nail
I mainly don't want to enter the give away because I want to give team cherry my money.

Holy crap! That’s a lot of grinding! You must have played Destiny, or the Division, or Diablo or some other looter game in the past haha
Omg i did the same. Now i farm with the moss knight bitches in greenpath or the mantis ppl in fungal wastes bc im still pretty early game.
Bruh I did that for a while, now I grind on flying sentries on the way down to the abyss
I can attest that this is quite a valid strategy for early game. I was going to comment that but then I found yours 😁
if you go to the forgotten cross roads sageway go up and left to the mini boss and kill him the go to the bench you will easy get oprox. 70 geo Avery 30 seconds and this can be done at the vary start of the game
good call
you can farm even earlier - killing 2 moss knights in greenpath right before hornet 1 gives you 80 geo w/o fragile greed and bench is super close
it’s a little tedious but very good for early lantern
I did the exact same thing
G'Day Relyea and thanks for this. Another way to get more geo quick is to find a lot of grubs and then go to the grub father
Yes! I should have mentioned that
Yeah, I’ve gotten tons of geo and I only have half the grubs
pro tip, just let your mind fill in the blank, and dont go back a second time after collecting every grub. your dreams will no longer be dreams for as long as you live my friend.
what about after you get all the grubs
@@smart_idiot8204 Actually, the acheivement is called "metamorphosis", and you get the "gruberfly's elegy" charm, so its safe to say that this is just metamorphosis, and not a father devouring his children.
Failed tramway is a good spot too just get mark of pride fragile strength and greed
I think mark of pride is one of my favorite charms and up there with quick slash. The failed tramway is underrated
@Shadow_GamesX that's the best method, it's 548 ish geo every 2 or so minutes and it's the lowest risk.
I saw a really simple method with Grub elegy to farm geo
Really nice video.
Though when farming The Kings Station you forget to enter the room on the platform over the spa. There are many easy mobs there which you can kill with 1shot and loot is a total of 63g(with greed equipped).
Think when farming in The Kings Station you can equip better charms for more dps.
I useally use:
Mob farming)
- Dreamshield
- Grimmchild
- unbreakable/fragile strength
- unbreakable/fragile greed
- gathering swarm
Fool arena farming)
- Dreamshield
- Grimmchild
- unbreakable/fragile strength
- Mark of Pride
I have not datamined and monitored all my farming but useally i can do,
Kings:
in 01.44.15 for 535Geo(5,14GEO/S)
Fool1:
in 04.15.79 for 1084Geo(4,23GEO/S)
Fool2:
in 06.03.64 for 2010Geo(5,52GEO/S)
Fool3:
in 10.07.69 for 3020Geo(4,97GEO/S)
So yeah Fools2 is better than The Kings Station. But when I farm i typically space out, get tired, get impatient and loose focus. So because of this fact I whould always recommend The Kings Station for farming. Because if loose focus and die then the time spend is not a total waste like in the arena since the mobs in the arena do not give you GEO only the completion does.
Great tips! Especially with the spa area. I totally forgot about that room
So sorry for you
That’s nothing compared to the time I lost 100 geo on the false knight, how dare you beg for comfort🤬
Fs my dude
Rip id uninstall if i was in that situation
This is why you need to kill your shade and press leave game, then join same save file.
For early early game if you get the fragile greed in the forgotten crossroads there's 2 husk guards near the stag station and they give 54 Geo a pop so that's 756 in 7.5 minutes cause it really only take 1.5 minutes each run its pretty good for early game
Great call. And that is super early game too
Not sure if it was mentioned below, but just in case - a great early-game geo farm is near the greenpath stag station. Go out and up, continue upward, defeating the moss charger and up another platform and there are two moss knights to the left in an enclosed little area in there. Simply defeat them for 80 geo total (more with fragile greed). Helped me get the lumafly lantern pretty quick.
Good call, thank you for sharing
@@RelyeaGaming Thanks, buddy of mine told me about that.
I started playing Hollow Knight a few weeks ago and I can't believe that in February 2019 everybody already thought that Silksong was around the corner 😭
I know I’m late but here’s my method
Go to the Greenpath stag Station and sit on the bench and go up and right
Kill the moss charger that jumpscared me(8g w/greed)
Kill the two moss knights on top(51g per with greed)
Then go right to the room which has another moss knight
Go back to the room with the two moss knights but go the bottom path
Kill the mosscreep (3g w/greed,seems worthless but still,it’s in Greenpath)
Then go back to the bench in the stag Station
Then repeat
One route is 164g
Ever too late. Thanks for the tip

Relyea thanks, helped a lot, keep up the good work!
Relyea and god damn it I spend 12hrs on PoP’s last part.i even watched your tutorial.damn it
Awesome! If you go to kings station then go past the broken bench place, through the wall into King's Edge, then find the Hoppers. Keep killing them over and over in 2 different rooms and you can get a lot of Geo. They drop around 15 each.
That is a great way as well
To beat those big bug with shield quickly, you should use Sharp Shadow, Nailmaster's Glory with max nail leveled up by the smith. Charge your nail and wait for him to attack. When he's in prepare position dash behind him then strike. It take 3 dashes and 2 charge strikes. And you won't waste time with weak enemies by dashing though them
Edit: And you should also use Sprintmaster and Dashmaster to move around quickly so you won't waste time just to move to the next enemy
That would work for sure
I’ve watched so many videos, you’ve helped me a lot! Thanks bro
You can go out the top as well for a faster farm route but that way requires more attention or healing.
good call, that works too
My go-to farming method is to travel to greenpath and go up then right to the 2 Moss Knights above.
This video was from the dark times before I knew about sharp shadow. I may need to do an update video
@@RelyeaGaming Eitherway, both good methods for farming, your videos helped me a shitload! Especially for a genre I suck in lol so thanks!
Glad I could help!
Yeah, I used it for a long time too, i guess it maked me like 180 per minute
I had 15 000 Geo and lost it at some boss. Good to know you can get Geo by running the Trials again and again. Love you videos!
That is great for early game for sure
lol, thank you for including the guy that buys artifacts, I totally forgot about him and have a bunch of stuff to sell.
Someone else suggested this as well. A great tip and I will have to try it out
Another really good Video Relyea.
I love it when the shade soul ends up outside the arena like it’s supposed to. Triggering the boss and having to fight the shade soul is not fun
Once had my shade appear in a black space... nothing i could do to get it out of there trying hitting it but couldnt as was a wall between us... tried shade soul at it but again wall so couldnt hit it.... in the end went to jiji and got it back that way
I didn’t use jiji as much as I should have. I didn’t know it was a thing or didn’t understand it until much later

What's the most annoying enemy in hollow knight!
*Primal Aspids*
Yes, primal aspids for sure
@@RelyeaGaming These guys bullied during the trials... ;-;
They are annoying for sure
I like to farm those jumpy guys in kings end. Its so quick and easy just back and forth between nail sages bench and over till you see the downward path then turn back and go sit on bench walk in and out or sages house and repeated. Love seeing your method and tips. Much love
I bought everything but for some mystical magical reason I’m here.
I appreciate you
My personal method that has worked very well for me and isn’t hard to do is killing the little jumping bugs in the kingdom edge. (Ps. There is a breakable wall on the left side of the hole in the middle with a big hopper inside)
omg I can't believe there's anyone else who does farming at City of Tear like I did

Thanks man! Glad these videos are helping.
I have one thing to say about the coliseum of fools *ahem* everybody gangsta till the aspids come out
or the floor drops out
Hello. I love your videos! I recently subscribed cause your tutorials are concise and smooth.
I have a great Geo Farm that doesn't require resting at a bench.
Kingdom's Edge: Right of pitfall with acid. There are a total of 21-22 Hoppers in the following path.
21 × 23 = 483
This can be done in less than a minute if you're quick enough with Dash master + Sharp Shadow
Or Strength + Nailmaster's Glory.
Ceiling x 4
Right × 7
Up (next area)
Right × 2
Left × 3
Up × 2
Up (next area)
Right × 1
Up Left × 2
Each time you enter a new subsection of Kingdom's Edge these guys respawn without the use of a bench.
You will get it in time
Relyea what’s kind of funny is about 30 minutes after I made this comment, I beat the trial!
MFW i farmed everything in crossroads for hours for the lantern and everything sly had on NG.
That is one way to do it for sure
Generates 300-400 geo/run & takes a little under 2 min.
uwu Thanks again, now I can get unbreakable heart.
Your very much welcome
Relyea,
*You’re
Oh god I’m really annoying aren’t I.
Trial of the Conquerer in seven minutes? How bold of you to assume I have skills in this game.
I figured out both of these methods before this video 😭. Still helpful tho
Well done. Sorry I didn’t have any super secret hack or anything. At least you knew you were a good farmer
I am glad they are making another game and it won't take 10 years
Nice vid, alas my fragile greed is currently stuck in Divine’s belly
Hopefully you can get it out soon! I made that mistake too
Goodbye fragile heart and greed 😿
Why are you saying good bye?
I will never get enough geo even with the coliseum and all upgrades I’m to bad
Great tip!
I recommend the two great hoppers right of the nail arts person in kingdom edge because it gives eighty base
Good call. And the little hoppers spawn just from changing rooms
I need to get geos for unbreakable greed :(
Thank you so much! This helped extremely with getting the unbreakable charms...
You are welcome!
manage to do it in 52 secs (second way)
46 secs
Dang! That’s awesome
Thanks for the tips!!! I'm near end game but whenever I do a fresh run I could always do the City of Tears run you made up 🙂 Also good to know about the colosseum!
Do it!
I found a method and i don’t know if someone talked about it
You go the Greenpath station when you go up you’ll find two Moss knights when you kill them w/ Greed charm and go back the station that’s like 100 Geo a minute
And there is no danger if go to the Mosscreep route
In green path if u go to the stag and go up just a bit you kind kill two of the shield guys (idk what they’re called) per time and the bench is really close (with Un-upgraded nail you can kill them both in a total of about 1-2 minutes per loop) (they give 40 geo each without the fragile greed for a total of 80) (this is very early game considering this spot is right outside the hornet boss room)
The failed tramway is really good early game because you can hide in the room furthest to the left and attack them through the ceiling/wall without them being able to attack you. This will get you 200 geo in around a minute.
great call
Reylea thanks a lot for all your videos. They are very helpful. You are a star.
Before you get the infested crossroads (I'm so sad😭😭😭) you can go to the crossroads stag station, and in the room above the station there is a husk guard, and he drops 45 geo, not sure how much with the greed charm though. But this is a really good farming strat for very early game.
relyea: you have to come all the way back here
me: *laughs in dreamgate*
I know this is much later after the video was posted. I found that you can get 500 in that same area in city of tears and got it down to around 1:40-1:50min per cycle. The cycle depends on your damage however. The important note is to enter the upper room with the 4 mobs. They re-spawn as well after benching yourself and give around 60ish geo. Still a good spot but matches coliseum efficiency depending on your damage.
I usually go to kingdom’s edge go to oro’s bench and equip gathering swarm nail master’s glory and all fragile charms (9 notches total) and then go murder every enemy in that exact room 11 hoppers 2 primal aspids and 4 great hoppers for the aspids if you have upgraded your nail 3 times then great slash will one shot them for the hoppers just go in front of them and use cyclone smash if all five hits land it should kill them (unless you only have first nail upgrade which only needs 250 geo)
And for the great hoppers when they jump walk past them and charge cyclone smash and then unleash it when they’re about to land and if you don’t whiff it 3 cyclone smashes (which is why you should use nail masters glory)should be enough unless you haven’t upgraded your nail at all then go to oro’s bench again sit on it go in his room and go out then the enemies will respawn you can get about 500 geo every loop and it takes about 2 minutes
A farming strategy I've been using because I'm terrible at video games:
There's a secret area full of Mistakes above the room to the right of where you enter the Soul Master boss fight (Where you get the Soul Twister charm)
It's accessible early-game and good for people like me who aren't usually very good at video game combat
go to the failed tramway, sit at bench, work your way to the tram where you got the card from, ignore the enemies before you enter through the door with the switch after. start grouping all the enemies from then on until you get to the tram. get inside the tram, wait until all the mothers spawn their max amount of spawns then upstrike them until they die. go back the the bench ignoring the enemies you have ignored before. You can get 344 geo every 2 minutes, 10,320 per hour, or 1720 per 10 minutes
Edit: You need green charm, i think nail lengthening charms also help
Thank you for sharing. I missed this one for sure
Trial of fool is great if you can consistently finish it, but if you are not able to that, the run you show is great.
This is an easy method that if you know how to fight moss knights, your golden for awhile. Right above the green path stag station are 2 moss knights in the room above. With the greed charm if you kill them both you get about 100 geo per minute.
that is great for super early game for sure
My favorite early game route is near the “forgotten crossroads’ stagway”all you do is go between the stagway and the room up and to the left while killing the big guy every time you do
5 years later I'm watching this video before silksong is released.
If he doble attacks, you will get a free doble attack in return, 100% safe, as long as you dont mess upp this loop
2) My personal favourite: hit shield, attack, dash towards him and take the hit (this will make you lose 1 mask instead of two) you can hit him while you are invulnerable, you might get a parry and deal increased damage, and if he attacks twice you can hit from 3 to 4 times in a row, before repeating the process
These tips helped me collect 8000 geos in 40 minutes or so, having the 2000 upgrade nail
if you don't want to do the coloseum go to kings station and go up to the rooms leading to the vessel frag clear those rooms and your good charms: dash master sprint master long nail (or pride) gread and swarm
That is great for early game
Thanks for sharing
Thanks bro
Grubberflys elegy with quickslash and unbreakable strength is insane op for that. You have to overcharm, but you are MELTING these big humps
for REALLY early game you can farm geo by going at the forgotten crossroads stag station benching, getting soul from enemies as fighting the knight above you,he usually gives 45 geo but you can use gree for better results
a geo farming meathod is in the forgotton crossrads with the husk guard next to false knight
THANKS
