Shape of unn makes your hit box lower which also makes it easier to dodge and if you use balder shell it makes you pretty strong and quick focus and deep focus combo with it it's super good
@@SusRing I think I’d be fair at 3 because right before a boss or if your exploring you can just wait to get to full health and max soul (max health by healing)
I've completed 5th pantheon with grimmchild and want to say that in the end he was the only one who helped me to support my mental health. Best charm, SS tier
@@SoutherlySoup what would the rules of the category be? Increased drop rates? Its mandatory to say it was an accident to complete the run? Play manhunt music? Cool tricks must be used?
Everyone's talking about how wayward compass is OP but underestimate the power of gathering swarm. The swarm completely devours bosses in seconds, how does everyone ignore it? It's an ez carry for the pantheon of Hallownest, S tier
Something that I think is worth mentioning is that lifeblood heart does have a good use tied to Grubberfly's Elegy: when taking damage with lifeblood, you don't technically lose health, so until that lifeblood is gone, you can afford to Actually take a hit or two if necessary. This fact is especially useful in the pantheons once you unlock the lifeblood cocoons, as using the following charm combo basically allows you to just walk at bosses while spamming from a distance until they die, and believe me, it WORKS. Also, one thing to especially keep in mind is that grubberfly's doesn't get rid of your regular nail hitbox nor it's damage output, so against larger foes like Failed Champion, you can actually have both hits, the nail and the elegy projectile hit, connect at once, effectively dealing 48 damage per nail swing. - Strength - Quickslash - Lifeblood heart - Elegy Honestly I've kinda become enamored with this charm loadout. It's a lot more useful than one might imagine.
Bruh. The round with "Ugly shield moth" i always change my Quick focus into Grubflies elegy. Even if that means fighting NKG with that charm. You should respect the one charm able to cheese "ugly shieled moth"
@@jevmenyt3422 I honestly use it a lot in Godhome. Granted it isn't the best against certain bosses, but for most, the build I mentioned literally shreds through bosses lol.
I had no idea that most people disliked sharp shadow. I used it for most of my play through and found it immensely helpful. I get the awkward dash length but that was only really a problem for me on platforming sections were I could just take it off before hand.
@@thebaseandtriflingcreature174 keep trying! I'm going to just tell you what worked for me...I put all my health charms and went into the fight with simply the idea of dodging and playing defense. After I did that, I beat him on the second try!
they should add the "Belmont Whip" as a charm that makes the nail really long but makes your unable to equip Mark of Pride and Longnail tpo avoid being to overpowered
@@sophiaz2982 tbh steady body felt weird for me, yes the no knockback is nice but the knockback gives some sort of feeling that satisfies me for some reason
This made me remember the time when I was moving around in crystal area trying to up grimm child and came across myla who was infected. I literally forgot I had Grimm child with me and trying to dreamnail her trying to see what her dialogues were. But you know what happened next...
summary of the video: "This charm is one of the best charms in the game... this charm is terrible, but it does have some use... at least this one's not grimchild"
One other use for Heavy Blow is the Delicate Flower quest. You want enemies to stay off you as much as possible, and if you’re impatient like me (or you’re trying to deliver it to other characters that aren’t the grave), you’re gonna be encountering enemies because you didn’t clear the path beforehand. It was especially helpful when I took the flower to Oro because of all the Hoppers that respawn regardless. Heavy Blow makes dealing with them _so_ much easier, especially paired with Mark of Pride. Kingsoul also finds a niche in this quest by allowing you to stay completely at range and throw out Shade Souls without ever coming close to an enemy.
It’s not that you use Defender Crest to kill the blobs vs Lost Kin. It’s that it kills them automatically if they’re about to attack you about 95% of the time. This means that when you heal, they hit your stench and pop like a bubble, instead of making it almost impossible to heal. Just as Hiveblood is possibly S-tier for a beginner in White Palace, this is amazing for a beginner vs Lost Kin.
Defenders crest was the only reason I was able to beat lost kin on my first playthrough. It's the only time I used it but it's very good in that situation.
I used quick focus, deep focus, and spore shroom on it because the LK does quicker attacks and you need to heal more when you have the chance. It also makes it easier to use Desolate Dive which is really useful in that battle.
Love the Baldur Shell discussion after having watched you use it in Abs Rad! I was definitely that beginner who used up all the charges and was like "this charm sucks" lol
The only 2 things that I don't share with this is Grimmchild being so low in D tier and Void Heart. It's true that Grimmchild has terrible aim and it's hell in Fog Canion, but it's definitely better than glowing womb against most - if not all - of the bosses where the "spawner" gimmick works well. This is because : 1) It does more damage 2) It doesn't drain soul. 3) It's devastating against Failed Champion because it's safe to spell spam when he's at the center, something that you can't do with GW So I'd put GC in C tier, just above Glowing Womb For Voidheart I understand that the effect is just... Nothing? But it IS free, so... It's free. P.S. If you're playing from PC, I'd consider modding the game (it's very easy, many tutorials on RUclips too). Install the "Charm Overhaul" mod: what it does is basically make not very good charms better with various adjustments, create multiple new charm interactions and allow to switch between Grimmchild/Melosy and King/Void. All the info is listed in a file that you can read with Word when you install the mod.
Yeah and just for the fact that gw is needed for nothing but gc is needed for an entire quest Is say it's at least c, but ngl void heart is rlly good for 0 notches, why not s tier you lose nothing for having it
Void heart also comes at the cost of losing Kingsoul. Not that Kingsoul is particularly useful, but getting Void Heart just locks the option of using it away.
@@h2o848 Yeah he did say that so I just avoided mentioning that. It's a free thing but it's still pretty useless since you won't die a lot when you have that charm on. The only exception I can think of is Trial of The Fool, since the Pantheons don't actually "kill" you. Even less useful in Steel Soul too... But it's free.
i can't believe i randomly chose to equip heavy blow after struggling with lost kin. the fight became so much easier afterwards and now i understand why.
I used thorns of agony through most of my first casual playthrough. In its defense, it can double hit and is good in colosseum runs. It's still pretty bad but I have a soft spot for it.
@@icedragon9097 you can buy some from Salubra. She is located at the south-east section of Forgotten Crossroads. She will sell you your first charm notch once you obtain your first charm, then 5th, then 10th, then i'm pretty sure 18th.
@@icedragon9097 as others have said, you can buy some from salubra, find 2 by exploring (fungal wastes and greenpath I believe, but the greenpath one needs Isma's Tear), 1 from the Trial of the Warrior, and 1 from beating Grimm for the first time
Very glad to see the justification for steady body. On my first playthrough with 96% completion and I've used steady body the ENTIRE game since I got it, thought about parting with it a couple times for something else, but I couldn't I just really hated the knockback restricting my movement.
that's the problem with it. once you get it on, you can't take it off if you are a new player, because you have to relearn the knockback mechanics if you do.
@Truffle Worm I have like 90hs and I always used Mark of Pride + Longnail. And now I'm changing builds and holy shit the range of the nail without this charms is so baddd I'm trying but I think I can't play without Mark of Pride :/
Fury and Elegy have a synergy where you can ranged attack at 1 mask as well. Considering both are really useful on their own in certain situations, it's actually pretty cool especially when you're not expecting it
Sharp shadow is good. Sometimes, in a fight where you’re shadow-dashing a lot (eg. traitor lord) the extra damage really builds up. Plus, sometimes when you have a low health, high powered enemy (eg. last phase sly), it’s safer to just shade- cloak through it a bunch to whittle down most of its health so you can tank a few hits at the end. The extra length can actually help a lot if you get used to it, it can let you dash through stuff you might not have been able to before (eg. failed champ). Plus only two charm notches is not bad for free, safe nail hits at your leisure.
Dreamshield does the same damage when dashing through an enemy, while also providing defensive utility against projectile attacks. Both charms take 4 notches to get the increased damage from their charm combo (Sharp Shadow + Dashmaster, Dreamshield + Dream Wielder) the dream set-up having the better upsides imo with the same per hit damage. TLDR: Sharp Shadow & Dreamshield are actually pretty similar and Dreamshield is only D tier if viewed as an entirely defensive charm.
I used it with pure vessel and man it’s good. It runs around so much that I can’t catch up to it to deal nail damage, and dashing through it to deal hits in is a very good strat for me. But then again I don’t speedrun so I wouldn’t need to worry about the length of the fight
Yea, I hate how if you want grimmchild to hit something, it will blast the things outline into the wall behind it. Yet when you need him to chill, it will bullseye that shit straight between the eyes, preventing you from healing.
I remember being in the early-game of my first playthrough, couldn't wait to find whichever charm let me swing my nail faster. I would have gladly given up even five notches to be able to do that. I'm certainly glad I didn't have to, but there were few moments that felt singularly better than putting on quick slash for the first time and swinging to my heart's content
Joni’s Blessing is good when you’re in a fight that is very difficult or impossible to heal in. In that case, it pretty much gives you extra hits when you couldn’t heal anyway.
Thorns of Agony is a crutch charm and I LOVE IT. It's perfect in places like Waterways if you're having trouble with those little things that dart at you on sight so you don't get swarmed to death, especially when you fall into the water. In exchange for being a 1-notch crutch, you gain no soul from the damage. It's probably not meant to be used professionally, especially if you have good timing and recovery.
Did you know that in Waterways, those tiny baby flukes can't actually hit you more than once if you just don't move? Their turning radius is too wide, they just swarm around you and don't touch you unless you move quickly, so if they hit you, just stop moving, wait for them to get close, and hit them easy with tonnes of time to spare. The moment you move quickly they'll be all over you, and if there is a straight path to you they'll almost certainly hit you the first time they go for you, but it's hilarious how much damage you can negate by not moving, especially if you make them take an indirect path to get to you, like by just standing on a high platform in the Flukemarm fight. You can have like ten of them swarming around you without touching you at all. Eventually one will hit, but you have tonnes of time to lash out at the ones who get close.
This reminds me of my epic desperate tech against nightmare grimm: deep focus + shape of unn. Allowed me to heal for at least 4 masks every time nkg used his following fire pillars attack, since it lasts long enough for me to charge up and heal twice while I'm moving in front of them.
i used deep focus, unbreakable heart and quick focus against abs rad, the only way i couldve beat it.. problem is i had to beat nkg and pure vessel with this shit setup too 😬 (worked out in the end)
Steady body finally gets some praise..I have no clue why everyone dismissed that charm so fast. It takes some getting used to but it’s so nice for shredding through bosses with knock back, and dealing hits without having to worry bout knock back is awesome
I played the whole game with Dash Master + Sprint Master + Sharp Shadow charms combination. I first completed Path of Pain and every Pantheon with it only. The speed it brings changes the whole game to me.
BTW Did you know? That you can use Dash Master + Sharp Shadow to make a poor-man's descending dark? Since, Dash Master allows you to dash downward and sharp shadow does damage, so you can dash downward to an enemy and do damage!!
@@MrPatrickbuit Doing PoP with Sharp Shadow isn't as bad as you think, just have to compensate for the extra distance a bit Dashmaster on the other hand...
I love how positive you are about heal builds and stuff that's sometimes considered "crutches" by the community. I've run some heal builds that look like memes (think q focus, deep focus, unn, heart) when I was a noob, and I still used heart when I switched to a more sane build (shaman, strength, qslash, heart) so I really felt quite discouraged when I saw someone call heart a crutch. "Just don't get hit 4head" - well, now I've got the word of the God Gamer himself to back my choice of heart up. Don't know if I'll ever get through PoH, but you know I'll be using heart for my attempts.
I know that Grimmchild is useless and sometimes even annoying (like on path of pain), but I love him so much that i couldn't place him that low even if he deserves it. Also Deepfocus is in my opinion very underrated. If you combine it with quickfocus and shape of unn you are pretty much invincible. I know a person who played all game with that combo.
@@ohnoagremlin True that. Its especially useful when you are trying to get a speedrun achievement (5hrs or 10hrs) and don't have time to get all upgrades.
I have not had much of a chance to use Dreamshield, and my attempts to dabble in it were not fruitful, I would be interested to hear some times where it was a useful charm for you.
@@tymek9691 I don't know, I kinda like it. It makes aggressive plays much easier since you can just forget about the swords knock back and focus on dps and dodging.
@@tymek9691 I consider the charm S tier myself, even if I’m not incredibly used to it. I’m glad he put it in S, although I feel like he was way too harsh on FotF (I feel like that’s S as well)
Wayward Compass is D tier?! Whatchu mean lmao. I mean like it goes to the B tier imo because if you're no brainer in the game, its for you. I feel like Nailmaster's glory is S tier because Nail arts in this game are so reliable. God gamer never needed a compass in the first place. Like me of course.
My favourite addition to Weaversong+Grubsong is to also use Sprintmaster, which makes the Weavers both faster and have a farther range. Used this combination for quite a few bosses during my midgame play. (They also give you soul from the Collector and from your siblings in the Abyss!)
the give you soul from your shade too, that's what really helped me with traitor lord, I would dreamgate to where my shade spawned, and just let my weaverlings kill it. I got so much soul from it it was unbelievable
nah glowing womb does almost equal damage (for its soul cost) to some high tier spells, yeah it’s not as effective as some of the spells (especially with shaman stone+spell twister) but for players that find themselves just completely neglecting spells i’d recommend using it in boss fights and maybe colloseum, maybe not for exploration, and if you combine it with grubsong + weaversong the soul gets regenerated for you without needing to hit enemies with your nail, that being said if you use spells frequently and don’t neglect them then yeah all glowing womb does is give you less soul to use for spells
It's good for if you want butcher all the spirits in the graveyard unprompted but would rather ignore the guard who's protected this place for possible centuries as his only purpose and joy in the afterlife.
I still really love dream shield tbh. Situational kinda, but it can really save you in fights like Coliseum of Fools and Radiance that have a lot of projectiles.
Just two major things: I've seen so many newbies get through bosses thanks to thorns of agony. And gathering swarm is insane for geo clusters, first playthroughs.
Gathering swarm is a blessing for idiots like me who want to get all 3 unbreakable charms in steel soul mode despite it being useless to upgrade in that said mode.
I like grubsong! I used it along with thorns of agony and shape of unn to get through many boss fights that I wasn't good at in my 1st playthrough. My brother said it's a terrible charm since you shouldn't go to a fight expecting to get hit. But he also said shaman stone isn't good bc it costs too many notches. He is nail build all the way
@@VulpineFox7 lmao yes. I don't have a good setup (play on laptop keyboard) and the only reason I got through white palace was because of infinite patience, masochism, hiveblood+grubsong combo
I love using Mark of Pride + Longnail for Sly. It gives you just enough room to very easily hit him during the second phase right after he finishes spinning his nail
Steady body, quickslash, and mark of pride are part of my setup at basically all times. Have been since my first playthrough. I swear steady body is the most underestimated charm in the game.
Dreamshield has a special place in my heart because I had a really tough time with the balloon guys that spawn in the lost Kin fight and the extra range of the shield helped me deal with them really effectively
54:10 Grubberfly's Elegy also has a synergy with Fury of the Fallen, where the effect also activates at 1hp. I used this quite a bit in the Hall of Gods for Ascended fights like Pure Vessel, NKG and Failed Champion. As with all of those fights, if you overcharm you never lose the Grubberfly effect (since you take 8hp of damage from 1 hit ;P)
Grimmchild is really handy if you're struggling with Sly's final phase. You don't even need to attack Sly, just dodge and your little buddy takes him out pretty quick. I don't really use the charm but it did help with that Pantheon
@@crimsonstrykr I remember the lifeblood charms having 1 niche usage in my first playthrough, which was learning bosses like NKG and Radiance. I would equip every charm that increased my health + joni’s blessing and just jump into the fights only focusing on dodging the attacks. The extra health really sped up the learning process
I swear I'm the only person who cares about lifeblood because my friends said that lifeblood was absolute dogshit so I wanted to prove them otherwise. Joni's blessing all the way. path of pain was pretty fun...
well yeah who wants hp that you can’t heal that takes away from how much dps you can output? if you ABSOLUTELY NEED lifeblood for whatever reason it’s just better to place a dream gate next to whatever you NEED the lifeblood for then go around collecting lifeblood from the blue raspberry testicles (for lack of knowing what they are actually called) then using dreamgate to get to where you “needed” lifeblood instead of wasting 2+ charm notches
I thought I was the only one who liked grubsong it pretty much allows you to benefit from your mistakes. Definitely helps with tricky platforming sections
I could feel my heart crack when I saw sharp shadow being put into a tier described as "crap" at the beginning xD But it also makes you feel kinda cool being in that minority of people who love sharp shadow 😎
Well, IMO sprintmaster is really good charm when you need to close distance to hit, but too close for dash. I personally used it in Pantheons, and it really helped me.
you don't know how happy I was when you said that heavy blow wasn't useless. I had been insulted so much for willfully using the charm and no one regarded me when I talked about the stagger mechanic. thank you.
I have used steady body all game and I thought it was incredible I was so surprised when I found out some people thought it was bad. It paired with quick slash and unbreakable strength carried me through the pantheons
I feel like sharp shadow should be udleast b tier, I do agree to have more damage but it's good at combos. Not only it's also good at diluting damage, and the extra range may be wierd but it's not that bad. And it also does 1.5 damage with dashmaster, so it's good for your casual play because it's satisfying, good matching combo and safe in casual play
I think players (including me) just get used to playing around the recoil mechanic that it doesnt really become super necessary to take up a notch slot.
I mean, at least for me, the knockback allows me to distance myself from my enemy, that something I really appreciate because I have more room to react. But yeah, if you know how to use it, it's a really good charm, imo isn't S tier but it's good
@@dragonmage233 Team Cherry should have made Fury a damage scale inverse to health charm, that way we can get some benefit even without being at one mask. Even better make it like the Sugar in Sekiro, use of it halfs health and buffs damage.
53:03 I worked for weeks on the final pantheon but kept losing and accidentally put Grubberfly Elegy in my build while practicing and destroyed Absolute Radiance. I practiced with it for awhile and it even goes through Markoth’s spinny shield of stupidity. That was the charm that actually helped me finally squeeze the win of the final pantheon, and Im so happy to see it landed up high on the list
@@jykatyk567 The two bosses I really needed it for were Markoth and Absolute Radiance. It is super useful on Markoth if you can get to him with full hp
I would like to mention that lifeblood doesn’t effect fury of the fallen, I can’t remember which pantheon it was but the speed runner stacked up on lifeblood while on 1 mask, and just slayed some bosses super fast.
It doesn't affect fury of the fallen, but you lose lifeblood before normal masks. You need to collect the lifeblood from cocoons to use it with lifeblood. Also, it only works with joni's blessing if you're at your last lifeblood mask.
@@sollumi3014 Well Joni’s blessing doesn’t combine, but lifeblood heart and core can be applied without removing fury’s effect, if you are at 1 heart that is. Edit* Then again you would reset health on bench so you would have to rely on lifeblood seeds.
I agree so heavily with your spore shroom ranking. I killed watcher knights, nosk, and brooding mawlek on my first attempt just because of that charm on my first playthrough. People on discord were saying that it wasn't good (but i found it to be so useful for certain bosses).
Honestly though playing the game with some lower tier charms can be a doozy. I also think glowing womb is generally garbage, but doing a run without the ability to heal or cast spells has kinda made me realize it's (extremely niche) uses quite nicely
@@thumb5225 Almost, although technically it's not entirely soulless. Having to pick between focusing to absorb the dreamers or using one spell in the entire playthrough to do godhome, i chose the later since it felt more in spirit with my intention. I'm almost finished, trying to do the first 4 pantheons with bindings currently as lifeblood will be crucial for pantheon of hallownest
@@andalus8449 How do you pass the elder baldur in crossroads without using a spell? I know you can kill it with longnail, but that's painfully difficult (and you have to do it 12 times!) and you don't have access to any of the other methods to kill them that early. I'm aware that you can get dream nail, but I can't think of anything you get from that either... oh, I see a video about doing it with dreamshield. But it's not in rando logic so I'm sure it's also stupidly hard.
I did not look at the length of this video. I was expecting an average 20 minute charm ranking video, and looked down after an hour. Really good content. It kept me watching because of your expertise is incredible.
This is a really interesting tier list coming from a newer player, Especially a lot of the A-tier. I always thought that soul eater and unbreakable heart weren’t worth the notch cost. It’s really weird to see that charms that I though were okay at best are actually good.
I was rocking Thorns/Crest/Spore Shroom/Grubsong through most of my first play through in a kind of defensive build where I had no idea what I was doing, but that combo ended up saving me a bunch of times
Nice tier list ^^ It helps when playing through the game casually. I did actually genuinely appreciate Dreamshield much more than how you were describing. It increased my range without needing to spend Focus to cast spells and blocked fairly often when trying to heal. I dropped Dreamshield only later in the game when I had more charms to make a stronger cast build. Maybe I'm crazy, but it saved my butt many times :D
After all the BS tier lists I've seen, this is definitely the one I agree the most with. Not everything is perfect IMHO but the pinned comment is enough. Thanks!
Gathering Swarm is S tier because otherwise it bugs me when something falls to spikes. Even if I wasnt going to need the money its really bothersome if I lay it on the ground. S tier in convinience and peace of mind.
Yeah, both it and Greed are great for getting the other unbreakable charms, one if which is an excellent combat charm (heart) and the other is, in my opinion, the best charm in the game (suck it Shaman Stone, Nail based builds all the way!)
You can actually use Defender's Crest to cheese the initial Crystal Guardian Fight. He'll take damage while he sleeps on the bench until his health runs out and it bails an waits for the second fight.
Dreamshield at one point used to have a weird glitched synergy where it dealt massive damage. I don't remember how I caused it but sometimes it would one shot bosses
This is the most down to Earth, genuine, entertaining and interesting tier list I’ve ever watched. Tier lists have become very stale for me and, not just that, but I never really loved them to begin with, because they often don’t feature deep discussion of the reasoning behind things, and often feel tacky and lazy. You have genuine opinions that are well thought out, are willing to think things through and adjust things, and you actually have interesting, unique, original takes that feel like true opinions, formed from knowing the game and keeping an open mind, rather than meme picks or “unpopular opinions” that are actually just negative, popular ones. You just earned yourself a new sub! Between this and your Boss Tier List, I’ve gained a lot of respect for you and your work.
Oh fireb0rn, oh god gamer, I don’t know whether to hug you or strangle you right now. I was fine with you putting wayward compass and gathering swarm low, because with the type of player you are they are useless. I was kinda mad that you put steady body in S, but I could take it. I was SO HAPPY to see you put carefree melody in A tier, as I use it in my most common build and love it so much. But… sharp shadow is my life. I cannot live without it. The longer dash upgrade is so amazing for me, and any time a take it off I run into enemies. It is a greasy way to beat a boss passively, though it is slow. I literally use only sharp shadow to beat winged nose cause I’m not good with spell timings, and I’ll just smack the balloons for soul. I love this charm with all of my heart, and everything you say against it I am taking personally
So you would also use it for white palace and path of pain, where the normal dash lenght is intended? Anyways, the rest makes it indeed S tier. But I'm more mad he put grimmchild as worst charm.
the synergy with the defender's crest and the glowing womb is that the minions become explosive, doing area of effect damage, capable of damaging several enemies close together. the glowing womb also synergizes with fury of the fallen, increasing the contact damage of the minions by 5 when the knight is on one hit point.
Okay well, you convinced me about Thorns. I used to a lot combined with the other "when you get hit" charms but didn't stop to think that I could just wack the bosses myself while I'm invincible. It also got me used to being okay with getting hit which wasn't good in the long run.
This tier list helped me finally beat P5 by inspiring me to try Steady Body! Thanks! (I ended up using Strength - Quickslash - Mark of Pride - Grubsong - Steady Body)
This video was originally just going to be an "underrated charms" video, so apologies if the tier list isn't perfect.

This is because :
1) It does more damage
2) It doesn't drain soul.
3) It's devastating against Failed Champion because it's safe to spell spam when he's at the center, something that you can't do with GW
So I'd put GC in C tier, just above Glowing Womb
For Voidheart I understand that the effect is just...
All the info is listed in a file that you can read with Word when you install the mod.
voidheart makes shade and siblings passive :D
(might not be good for speedrunning obviously, but what the hell you have voidheart)
I always have sharp shadow equipped and I do not plan on removing it. And I got used to the extra length almost instantly, and love it so so much.

I'm certainly glad I didn't have to, but there were few moments that felt singularly better than putting on quick slash for the first time and swinging to my heart's content
That’s how I feel with Mark of Pride. I was hungry for that extra range.

Thorns of agony is a good charm to hit bosses with just do lifeblood +quickslash +thorns of agony.
You should unequip it in Fog Canyon tho, there its just pain
As a noob it has saved my ass so many times
This reminds me of my epic desperate tech against nightmare grimm: deep focus + shape of unn. Allowed me to heal for at least 4 masks every time nkg used his following fire pillars attack, since it lasts long enough for me to charge up and heal twice while I'm moving in front of them.

And it also does 1.5 damage with dashmaster, so it's good for your casual play because it's satisfying, good matching combo and safe in casual play
atleast*
A tier*
weird*
i used to be a steady body denier. Then i met Hunthussie!
I didn’t know I wanted this until now
Finally, someone appreciates just how great Steady Body is. You get so much more control over your character, and it's just a single notch...
Nothing is normal without steady body
I think players (including me) just get used to playing around the recoil mechanic that it doesnt really become super necessary to take up a notch slot.
@@banuner_ Fair enough, I still love steady body, but i can see why it might not be useful.
I mean, at least for me, the knockback allows me to distance myself from my enemy, that something I really appreciate because I have more room to react.
But yeah, if you know how to use it, it's a really good charm, imo isn't S tier but it's good
Doesn’t grubberfly elegy have synergy with fury of the fallen, which makes you shoot stuffs at 1 hp?
Yes, it does. And it shoukd also deal 1x nail damage instead of 0.5x
Unfortunately, that interaction doesn't work with lifeblood , as I learned the hard way in P5....
@@dragonmage233 Team Cherry should have made Fury a damage scale inverse to health charm, that way we can get some benefit even without being at one mask. Even better make it like the Sugar in Sekiro, use of it halfs health and buffs damage.
@@crimsonstrykr Speedrunners would have too much power.
it does, but it deals little additional dmg, so its honestly not worth it. furthermore, one hit and ur dead for a small dmg boost isnt worth it imo
53:03 I worked for weeks on the final pantheon but kept losing and accidentally put Grubberfly Elegy in my build while practicing and destroyed Absolute Radiance. I practiced with it for awhile and it even goes through Markoth’s spinny shield of stupidity. That was the charm that actually helped me finally squeeze the win of the final pantheon, and Im so happy to see it landed up high on the list
dude i can never do PoH hitless
Yeah what the fuck I can't be at full health in PoH
@@jykatyk567 The two bosses I really needed it for were Markoth and Absolute Radiance. It is super useful on Markoth if you can get to him with full hp
@@lazyninja1793 markoth's sword will spawn in your face if you are too close, so i believe you
I would like to mention that lifeblood doesn’t effect fury of the fallen, I can’t remember which pantheon it was but the speed runner stacked up on lifeblood while on 1 mask, and just slayed some bosses super fast.
Actually, does then fury combine with jonis blessimg or in that instamce not?
I also think glowing womb is generally garbage, but doing a run without the ability to heal or cast spells has kinda
made me realize it's (extremely niche) uses quite nicely
A soulless run? Have you finished yet?
@@thumb5225 Almost, although technically it's not entirely soulless. Having to pick between focusing to absorb the dreamers or using one spell in the entire playthrough to do godhome, i chose the later since it felt more in spirit with my intention. I'm almost finished, trying to do the first 4 pantheons with bindings currently as lifeblood will be crucial for pantheon of hallownest
@@andalus8449 Don’t gotta have a soul to take a soul :D
@@thumb5225 ye, but the prospect of pantheon of hallownest with no healing or spells was too good to pass up
@@andalus8449 How do you pass the elder baldur in crossroads without using a spell?
Heart is only 2 charm slots though
I was rocking Thorns/Crest/Spore Shroom/Grubsong through most of my first play through in a kind of defensive build where I had no idea what I was doing, but that combo ended up saving me a bunch of times
i used to live off of thorns, but lately i realised it just takes up i-frames and used either sprintmaster, grubsong or dweilder instead
S tier in convinience and peace of mind.
combine it with greed charm and a casual playthrough is much nicer without feeling the need to grind money to buy all the things
1 geo saved now is 1 geo you don’t need to farm later
@@sleepyppl4286 1 geo saved now is 1 more geo when you die while getting your shade back
Yeah, both it and Greed are great for getting the other unbreakable charms, one if which is an excellent combat charm (heart) and the other is, in my opinion, the best charm in the game (suck it Shaman Stone, Nail based builds all the way!)
You can actually use Defender's Crest to cheese the initial Crystal Guardian Fight. He'll take damage while he sleeps on the bench until his health runs out and it bails an waits for the second fight.
IIRC You can do that with dream nail and ddive/dark
Dreamshield at one point used to have a weird glitched synergy where it dealt massive damage. I don't remember how I caused it but sometimes it would one shot bosses
His summary of how casuals react to steady body was spot on
This is the most down to Earth, genuine, entertaining and interesting tier list I’ve ever watched.
This mans put Steady Body in S tier. I bow to the greatness of the God Gamer!
Sharp shadow throwing a boss backwards when it gets stunned and dropping it on top of you at the end of the dash is criminal.
the synergy with the defender's crest and the glowing womb is that the minions become explosive, doing area of effect damage, capable of damaging several enemies close together. the glowing womb also synergizes with fury of the fallen, increasing the contact damage of the minions by 5 when the knight is on one hit point.
but the defenders crest strongly weakens the hatchlings of glowing womb; no, the aoe doesn't compensate it.
So you didn't use Shaman Stone for P5?
