- Saari Raat Aawe Teri Yaad is a very special song that was originally written and composed by my friend Sandeep Chandel in 1998. Back then for unforseen circumstances it did not get released. I requested Sandeep to allow me to add my bits into this and release it. He generously accepted my request. I feel honored to bring this beautiful composition to you.
Raja and Rajni volunteered to give their face to this song and tell a simple story of how in a day to day life people get separated for various reasons, big or small, and even though they carry on with life, there's always this pain and void of missing those who you have truly loved.
This song is dedicated to all the lucky people out there who have been touched by the power of true love, in their life.
About the music:
I played Duduk in the intro, which is a 3000 year old Armenian wind instrument and is played with a wooden reed. It is made from the roots of apricot trees and has a mesmerizing sound.
I also played Bodhran, which is an Irish percussion instrument played with a tipper. It has leather on one side, that you play, and hollow from the other side, which is where you can place your hand and control the sound.
The root chords are played on a Martin Road Series guitar.
I also used the Roli Seaboard Rise 2 for creating some fillers.
Rest of the music was created using various instruments (and digitally) by Michelle.
The vocals were recorded at my home studio using Neumann T102 microphone and first round of editing was done on Studio One 6.
