Hi HG C, one of those days that just vibrated with fun and good stuff😁. Emirates, BEA retro livery, massive fun trackside at the mound and in the chat. It is no exaggeration to say that slow as the journey home was, that the experience of the day kept me going all the way back. So many aspects to it all - as you say; a moment to savour. A proper good day - so glad you enjoyed it too😀👍👍👍. Thanks for being part of it. I am definitely crediting the double seat wave to Linda Couper and Scottish Linda, plus her young lass Robyn. How could anyone not wave back with that level of persuasion in action!!!! Catch you soon hopefully. Take care Mark
Hi Alexandra, I wished I'd worn Eddie's Go Pro as up on the mound it was a proper cracking atmosphere well worth a wider share! I have credited the pilot waves to Linda Couper, Scottish Linda and her young lass Robyn - irresistible persuasion if ever I saw 'meets' top class aviators on the flight deck that have 'aviation soul' in them. With easyJet, Delta, and KLM pilots waving earlier, saying 'what a day' is no exaggeration😀!!!!! I even forgot myself when it was said that we were getting the BEA retro. Forgot I was wearing a mic so excited was I. Proper hyper in fact🤣 Really glad you enjoyed the video😀👍👍👍 Take care & hope to catch up soon Mark
Very sharp Les😀👏👏👏. Just saying in a post to HG C, that with Linda Couper. Scottish Linda and her young lass Robyn exerting their magnetism, the flight deck never stood a chance🤣. In all seriousness though massive kudos to the Captain and F/O🏆. Great ambassadors for Emirates and the significance of day🏆. Glad you enjoyed it too Les - thanks for being part of it all😀👍👍👍. Hope those jags haven't given you any grief. Catch you soon Mark
One very happy day YB😀 - so many good things in play and the general atmosphere down on the mound was something else. Really glad you enjoyed it all too😀👍👍👍. Met Bart from V1 Aviation on both days - he mentioned you from his streams. Top bloke - interesting and helpful in equal measure. He was there on a commission to film the 777 from an airside perspective on behalf of Emirates. Living my dream from that spot!!! Catch you soon Cheers Mark
@@PlaneSailingAviation It certainly did look great fun to be there to see the 777 arrive 👍 And yes, Bart is a lovely chap - I've been following his channel for a while also 👍 So nice to see fellow live-streamers getting along well 🙂 Catch you soon no doubt!
Hi Bart, thanks my friend😀👍👍👍. The mound at 06 when there is a special plane in town is such a cool place to be, just so atmospheric. Have to say though the perspective you were able to film from airside was definitely 'the one'. I saw on the Edinburgh airport plane spotters FB group that Emirates have made the post. 'Top top' class videography🏆. Very well done👏👏👏👏👏
Hi Michelle, what a result that really was🏆. Thank you so much for your company and generous support over the two streams💜. Whilst the wind never changed as we hoped to give 06 arrivals, the long roll out for the 777 brought the wave into play and boy did the flight deck do us all proud🙏. Just before it landed Linda Couper did a quick count up of how many people were on the mound. Something like 49 and by the time the plane had rolled past us, north of 60 easy peasy. Cracking atmosphere trackside and in the chat. One special day - thanks for being part of it Michelle xx. Catch you soon Mark
Hi Michelle, we did fancy the odds to be favourable for a wave given the circumstances, but I still reckon the combined powers of Linda Couper, Scottish Linda and her lass Robyn, tipped the odds that bit more our way😁
Always a huge treat for the planespotters having the pilots wave. I'm always hoping that some pilots would come up beside some of the spotters I follow on you Tube and give them a real unexpected surprise visit.
Hi @Icecrys, it is something we often muse on, yesterday being a relatively good day for waves, but often my own success rate is low😁🤣. I always appreciate that pilots have other things to think about but as you say the impact of a friendly wave is considerable. You are right, an unexpected visit would be off the chart!!! Fingers crossed for one day🤞😀. Thanks for watching and taking the time out to post. Really appreciated. Cheers Mark
Great work Mark, you captured the landing perfectly👍The wave was the icing on the cake😊After the stream I just had to jump in the sim and replicate the flight, had to do it in the 300 series though as the 200 isn't available! It should be on my channel next Monday, don't expect a greaser landing like that one although mine wasn't bad😉
Hi Rab, thanks buddy😀😀😀👍. Look forward to getting eyes on with your video. Someone was saying on the Edinburgh airport spotters group that the live flight was running out of stuff like tea and coffee in the latter phase of the flight. Whilst that rather surprised me, I doubt Rab Air will encounter the same turbulence!!!! Cheers Mark
Well I have credited that to team Linda's and young Robyn🏆👏👏👏👏👏. Yes some of the cockpit glass does make it harder to see until they are literally level with you. Cracking result yesterday though with easyJet, Delta, and KLM all obliging too!
Hi @inspiritGalaxy , my understanding is March 2020, the service then curtailed due to the pandemic. In many ways it is surprising that it has taken this long to be restored, but I guess Emirates wanted to better assess what the prospects would be once the A380 services to GLA were restored and nicely bedded back in. Qatar Airways still operate a twice daily service and Etihad once did serve EDI (I have recently seen a cracking picture on the Edinburgh Airport spotters FB page of one of their aircraft at EDI). Thanks for watching and making a post. Best regards Mark
Emirates getting their moneys worth out of this aircraft. Currently sitting at Dubai for a 0200 departure on Thursday 6th Nov down to Adelaide as EK440.
I am guessing that these will be early disposals once the A350's start arriving given their lower payload. Blimey off to Adelaide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're not kidding!!!!
a great moment to saviour, a wave makes it much more, thanks Mark for capturing the arrival.

Yeah we got a wave it's harder to see them wave irl or is that just me 😊

Just occurred to me do we need to get a plaque or preservation order for 'Linda's Log'😀?
@PlaneSailingAviation I'm not sure I didn't know that was a thing tbh at least I can laugh at myself 😂😂😂
really ? whats the last time EK came to edinburgh ? did qatar and etihad fly here too or not ?
