Wow, I have missed this engineer for so long. It's so delightful listening to the explanation of all engine (British) issues he shares. Thank you so much
Timely. Yesterday we were checking the compression on my friend's recently purchased 1971 "B"that has been stored for a few months. Carbs and manifold have been removed by "others". We adjusted the valves cold as they were quite a bit off. 15 to 21 Thou. Plugs were sooty. We came up with : 1: 145 2: 135 3: 125 4: 145 Based on your video.. we will torque the head and will recheck and listen for "hiss". Also may do a repeat with dry and wet. Thanks John.
I noticed a thumbs down, how strange. John, this new series of tech videos are outstanding. I've been away from my 1974 Sabrina MGB for many months (thanks a lot PRC) it's good getting my hands dirty once again with you as my guide. Too bad I didn't have someone like you to help out with my Austin Healey (BJ7) adventure.

I always thought the throttle had to be open to do the test, or did you have it jammed open but just didn't mention it?
Thank you
You didnt mention to hold throttle in full open position.
