Congratulations Dad, you found something you love and you got after it and made it work. You’ve always been the best example of what work ethic really means. I remember as a kid visiting all the job sites, seeing equipment, or watching you plow snow, going to build decks with you. I remember it all and never fully understood it until I had a family of my own and had to provide for them. Never once heard you complain about having to drive 10 hours, or when you were just about to get some rest then getting a call to have to go plow snow. Thank you for it all. We are all excited for what is to come next and here to help. -Second son Levi

Been watching this channel for a few years, my wife always knows what I'm watching hearing Mike and Melissa's voice. Hard work and good work ethic is starting to be rare now a days, glad to see Mike move onto the next chapter in his life and the recognition you gave them reassures them they raised y'all right! Congrats!
Could NOT be happier for you! I'm also 54, and have been "retired" for 4 yrs. I worked for "the man" since getting out of school, finally reached the end of my rope with that, started my own company, grew it, became the top company in our line of work, then got sick and tired of dealing with the govt.....and pulled the ejection cord at 50. In 10 yrs of owning company, never had an employee quit, never fired one, never laid off, and grew it from 6 people to 30 people. Everybody says "you're gonna miss it", "you're gonna get bored", "You'll regret it". Let me tell you, I don't, I haven't, and I only regret not doing it sooner. Loved the work, loved all the guys and the fun we had, etc...., but I have never looked back. I'm so busy at our cabin property all the time, I'm not sure how I ever kept up with it WHILE working. I could see your exit coming, and the day you got the excavator, I knew it was on the horizon. Between the projects you had going, and the ones you must have in mind to commit to that, plus all the other stuff, plus how you and Melissa have mentioned how last year affected and helped Hunter and his schedule, etc....it was obvious work was only slowing you down and holding back progress. You're not going to regret this one bit, neither is Melissa. Your whole family just took a giant LEAP in a good direction. Good luck Mike and Melissa. At 56, my company transferred my division to India, and left me kind of hanging. I couldn't conceive of being without a job. I immediately started a quest to find another job - but, I started some home projects that had been postponed for literally decades. And, in almost no time, I set to work on a complete remodel with new siding, new windows and doors. Then, I started cutting firewood. I adopted a life companion pup and I got very active in infrastructure maintenance at my Church. At some point I discovered like many told me I would, I had no time to pursue another career, and soon found I didn't want one. That was over 12 years ago, and I don't think there has been a single day that I missed that old life. Stay busy, enjoy, and just observe the wonderful nature around you. Worked my one and only job for 51 years. Loved my job and thought I would miss it terribly. I was wrong! I've been a small farmer for many years raising cattle which is what I do full time now. Enjoy your new life, I know I do!!
I haven't watched your channel for about 9 months now Mike and this is the first vid I decided to watch, Just want to say good for you Mike, something made me watch this vid but I'm glad I did, we only get one bite of the apple, before you know it your looking down the barrel, I'm 70 years old still work 48 hours a week, watching this has made me decide at the end of the year I'm walking away from it all as well, time to do the stuff I want to do, our kids are all grown up, we own a beautiful little farm as well as our city home on the Northern beaches of Sydney Australia, time to sell the home and move to the farm full-time , hunt and fish and dive as often as I want to, thanks for posting this you have helped me make up my mind, time waits for no one all the best for the future for you and Melisa.
25 years working the county’s jails, 57 years old, put my paperwork in last week. Have 215 acres in the country waiting for us to get dirty. Will sell my big city home and never look back. My wife of 33 years, couldn’t be happier. Never really thought about having 60 hours a week being free from others making demands on my time. June 29th I say goodbye to that chapter and begin the next. God is great.
Mike I retired 15 years ago at the age of 54, and I have never regretted it , I’ve had friends that worked hard all their lives and not long after they retired they passed away , never really had time to enjoy their retirement, I think more time with your family is a good thing
So I just came across your channel while cooking dinner tonight and I have to say, this was great. I’ll be turning 46 tomorrow and it’s been my dream to come home full time and work from home with my wife. I’ve been in the same business for over 27 years, self employed and hold no retirement. I’ve been saying for years I’m done by 50 but am working towards walking away before my 50th birthday. I don’t have a RUclips channel but I have found what I want to do, be a full time gardener and build my own farmers market. A huge change from being a tattooer. I am passionate about growing food and I want to be home to do it. My wife and I are about to put in a huge greenhouse and start a whole new way of doing life. Watching this video was a massive encouragement to start looking towards my walking time and I know it’ll be soon. Congrats to y’all and good luck with all the amazing things that are to come. Maybe it’s time we start a channel and share our new, upcoming journey. Blessing to y’all.
Congratulations, Mike! I walked away from my real job that I loved 21 years ago at age 51 and haven’t regretted it. I adjusted to retirement by the time I reached the parking lot after walking out the door. You will have no problem adjusting. Life is good!😊
I retired at 54 and 8 months after 30 years with a state highway dept. I loved my job but life is to short to work till noon on the day you die. For 10 years I’ve done things, enjoyed hobbies and been a full time grandpa. I’m happy for you Mike, looking forward to more content
i was diagnosed with Asperger's many many years ago you have my deepest respect for the way your teaching hunter. keep on rocking and doing what works for you
Congratulations Mike! My goal was to retire ("walk away") at 55 and I finally achieved it at 56 but the company asked me to stay an extra year. I'm now on my 7th year of "walking away" and loving it. May God's blessing continue for you and your great family!
That's funny right there ! And you are probably partly right , I will bet we will be seeing several videos on wedding event set ups ! Hannah's going to have the best wedding ever!
Mr. Morgan, God bless you and your family. You truly are an inspiration to me and my wife. I walked away from it all a few years ago and you just gave me the pat on the back that I needed. I work just as hard now as I did years ago but now I enjoy every moment and I value every second that I get to spend with my treasure that God gave me, my wife.
I’m so happy your happy please don’t cut the amount of days you post. There are other channels out there that go full time you tube and don’t have time for those of us out here. Congratulations Morgan’s
I graduated in 84 also. Busted my hump in several industries and factories. Side jobs, and found the one in the carpenter, plumbing, electric etc and walked away last year. Retired. Then 2 months ago my youngest son bought a building for a restaurant and his contractor dropped the ball and left him stuck. Good thing I retired and was able to help or take the reins and get things going . the Lord has his reasons and its amazing when you see why you do what you do when you do things with him in your heart. You'll see too. Blessings Morgan's
Good for you brother; I’m happy for you both. Her faithfulness in handling the family so that you could go out and provide is immeasurable. Having served a quarter century as a Marine Officer, I can tell you that my wife and our three daughters are my heroes and I couldn’t be 1/5th who I am or have accomplished a bit of what I have in life with purpose without them. The only thing my wife asked of me over our time in the Corps, was that this last move was our last one. Though a traumatic brain injury was what ended my career, what it did give me was a new life at home with my family. I love and hate retirement both, but I’m grateful for each day I have. God Bless you all!
Mike , I graduated in 1984 also from Western Hills High school. Love this video, you and I have been on similar paths . (5) grandchildren 37 year old daughter, a 27 year old son. A 24 year old son, & a 24 year old step son some time in this next year or so . My girl Missy Rappoport & I have been together for (20) years now & we’re getting ready to build our dream house up in the woods at 875 Markley Rd. Missy & I just sold the house 🏠 on lot (1) 905 Markley Rd. Cincinnati , Ohio 45230 with the help of her Mom & Dad It’s been a real long road. Love this one Mike Hold it so close to me . THANKS 🙏 🙂
Congratulations on breaking the chain to the “real job”, Mike! That is a huge decision but I have no doubt that you will be immensely successful with your next chapter. You are a natural speaker and you already produce excellent videos, so even if your RUclips channel didn’t change, your business would continue to grow. I wish you the very best of luck and look forward to following the evolution of the Morgan family!
Mike I really liked your channel. Stopped watching a while back. I'll be honest and sincere, if you want it to work, keep your political opinions to your self. Please
What I like most in this video is the marital unity portrayed and the team effort required to make a decision of this magnitude. A strong woman who has withstood being alone and raising a family and managing a home in her husband's absence (as an old oilfield worker I'm very familiar with this) walking hand in hand with her husband into the future is a beautiful thing. I wish you both all the best!
Unlike a lot of men who quit their “9 to 5” jobs and stay home with the spouse 24/7, Mike has 100 acres of forest to keep busy in with his tractors, excavator, sawmill, wood chipper, chainsaw, etc all day long! Melissa will have to call his cell phone to get hold of him! Congratulations on the change in life style. Enjoy the freedom of working for yourself.
Wow! Just wow!!! This just blew me away! I am so VERY happy for you both! Why are tears falling on my face? I am happy for y’all - honest. I’ll bet there are people at Mike’s old job that are going to miss him. Guess you’ll pick up some more subs. Congratulations to both of you❣️ Marcus from Chesapeake VA.
Mike..Melisa..I started following you about a year ago. I admire all you have done. I’m retired now, still push a big rig down the road on a dedicated route now. I’ve had a lot of fun out here, but dealing with the man for so many years..going on 35 years out here now..and crazy drivers out here, I’m getting tired my friend. I’ve been in the military, out after 13 years, been in the Sherrif’s dept( 5years) int the fire service(9) years, became a state certified fire fighter 1, first responder and hazardous materials Incident Commander. I’ve had a good life, met many friends! I related to your life of hard work and values, I was taught them early in life. I had two major fires in my life, one @12 years ago that nearly destroyed my life. Lost nearly everything. I’ve recovered my life mostly, lost a lot of friends and my marriage. Now I’m single, live a quiet life in central Maine. I think the world of you folks, and one day hope to get a chance to shake your hand. I’m writing this to you in 2022, in October, a year after I lost my dad. So Mike, Melisa, Eva and Hannah..God bless you folks. I’ll keep watching you when you release your content for sure! Take care and stay safe bud! Rick from Maine.🙏✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Congratulations to you all! I’m 1 year behind you. Retirement from the daily grind is almost all I think about. I’ll be 62 when that occurs (Lord willing).
Congrats Mike. I retired 2 years ago next month. Finally to the point I don’t k ow what day it is. Best thing I ever done, as you don’t live for ever. Looking forward to seeing you get more done.
Living the dream Mike and family, everyone is just so happy for what you’ve achieved. Loved every minute of what you have all done and so glad to have been along from the start.
Congratulations! I know how hard you work putting things online and your channel shows it. The production value and the way you shoot things have come a long way in the past 4 years and your hard work shows. I wish you all the best and your continued success. I will do my part by tuning in everyday.
That's Awesome ! I know all about how a Channel will take off for no reason and turn into your Job, it's really nice so to speak to do what you want when you want, Great Video !
I don't think you quite get it. He's not retiring. He's jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. As he said, you tubing is a whole lot harder than an 8 -5 job. Good luck Mike.
I agree. I don’t you tube but enjoy watching and can imagine the work involved but that is something Mike enjoys and wouldn’t imagine it would be like a 9-5 job. If he doesn’t want to do a video on a particular day, he doesn’t have too!
The guy has proven to himself , family , friends and US he can make a living doing whatever he wants ! I can't wait for him to take us along for the ride !!!
Same here, nothing better than doing whatever you need and want to do every day.. one alarm, just for Sunday morning for church and that's it! Awesome.
Retirement for me was similar. 34 years Oil and Gas managing logistics for the Drilling department. Average over 100 calls and countless emails daily, then stop. No calls and no emails. We bought a mill, a ranch and a tractor in Idaho. We plan to build a dovetail corner log home. Good luck with your plans!
The part that sucks about being retired, is you don't get any days off anymore. Enjoying it is now your job. You are now the boss of Mike Inc!!!!! Congrats on you both and may this be the start of a new adventure. Love you guys. ☺
Thanks, its 2024 now. I have been watching y'all for several months now and going back watching some of the older videos. You been giving me lots of ideas. Keep it up. I'm about to pull the pin on going bigger with my firewood yard myself. I've made firewood all of my life and I find it enjoyable. I started following several other people in the firewood industry and I believe it's getting closer for me to go bigger. I'm also looking at the RUclips video angle as well, but like you said in one of your videos, you were a firewood maker who posted RUclips videos. I like that comment and concept. It stuck with me. Thank you and take care.
God is good. Mike I've been anticipating this video most every week. Just want to say congratulations to you and your family. What a true blessing and awesome journey it's been. Thank you for sharing and for letting us come along. Excited to see what's ahead and what the future holds. On that note, hope to see you this year and we'll see you down the road.....
My sister has been married for 40+ years. A few years ago her husband retired it almost scared her to death to think of him being underfoot all day every day. They discussed it and decided that when they needed alone time, they would speak up and it would not be a foul against either. Sure enough every few months, my brother-in-law will get the hint and then spend the day at his sister's place or at a friend's place on a project. They are content and well adjusted with the arrangement. In the years since, the need for alone time has gotten further apart. Honestly, watching your wife in her portion of the video reminded me of the look in my sister's eyes when she announced her husband was retiring. She looked scared to death. When the future is unknown some people take a while to adapt to it. But I fully understand walking away. Genuine freedom is impossible when you punch a clock. When you work for yourself, you decide when to work, how much to charge and whether you want to do the job. It's great and the clock is not your judge. I've been medically retired since 2001 and I have to really think about what day it is. Most of the time, I don't even care what a clock says. It's MY TIME! Congrats on having the boldness to declare and stake out your claim for YOUR TIME!
Congratulations Mike! It will take a while for it to really set in and get adjusted, but you will like it. I retired 3 years ago and always keep busy doing what I want to do.
I told my wife when I retired I wanted to buy another drilling rig and drill a couple shallow gas wells on my property because I grew up on the Derrick floor.
Like many others watching this channel, I’ve been looking forward to the day you posted this video. What’s even more enjoyable is reading the comments, you have inspired so many and have a great community all wishing you the best
I had 38 years with a company, worked long hours and weekends, in the end they cut benefits and retirement, got sold and I was let go. I wish I could get those years back of lost family time. Good for you , enjoy the new adventure and don’t look back.
Congrats Mike... Well deserved... Just retired myself after 40 years... (age 62).. Have so enjoyed being able to work on things around the lake house (where we can spend more time now). Tomorrow going to Home Depot to rent a log splitter to finally get to the many rounds around the property that have been sitting for too long. I will be leveraging all the skills I have learned from you and your videos... Look forward to many more... Congrats...
I will predict that Mike will lose 20 pounds in the next 6 months! No more sittin’ in a pickup all day. Congratulations Mike and Melissa on your new chapter in life! God bless.
i can relate to the miles travelled, when i was working on the Lancaster bypass(UK Lancaster), i was driving 180 miles a day to & from work ,and proably another 15/20 miles during the day in the dump truck (volvo a30e), and the work day was 12 and half hours, i used to leave home @ 5:20 in the morning and get home @ 9:20 @ night, the only shorter day was a saturday if we worked it ,and that was a 8 hour shift plus the driving each way, during the last 18 years i proably averaged between 40-50k miles year (in my own cars too), now i work from home selling on Ebay/amazon in the Uk and playing Amateur radio in my spare time now its just me & my dog, as my son now lives in NH, hopefully though i can get to NH in September to see him get married and meet my grandson for the first time, oh btw mike your 3 and bit years older than me :) Kevin
I understand completely where you are coming from. As we age and mature, I’m almost 63, we start thinking of what we haven’t gotten done that we always said we would. You are inspiring me to complete my side hustle bbq & catering project so I can walk away too. Thanks for the push.
There's nothing like story time, I love hearing stories of past times when we were all young, good luck with ur future videos, I'll keep an eye out for them.

Excited Mike and Melissa for your new journey! I spent 22 years in the military and I know what you mean by being on the road while Melissa is raising the family. You definitely made the right decision in my opinion. Ok I always liked your videos when I started my journey after buying my 1st tractor two years ago. To be honest I had questions and you never answered them when I needed them answered, so I stopped watching your channel since I found others who could answer. I will visit more now... Mike you and I are the same age and I grew up in Carlisle. Maybe someday Ann and I could meet you and your awesome family. I love your property. Keep on keeping brother. Oh and you can just share videos about your funny experiences working as a blaster. Don’t think you always need to be working in a video. Enjoy being a family man and just be honest about life. Spent 24 yrs in the Army, and always heard that only one thing worse than having your husband gone all the time is having him home all the time. You have to find some self quiet time alone to be able to get along after being apart for so long. My wife was running the house and kids by herself, and when I would get back from a deployment, we would clash sometimes until I realized that she is in charge of the house, even when I was home. Been retired from the Army for 13 years and have a job that I am home every day. I still have to give her space away from me. I'm class of '84 too; 24 years of Army Combat Engineer; blowing stuff up too, but not as much as you ever go to do.
Congrats Mike. I’d like to see a behind the scenes video of what it takes to produce the videos. Filming, editing, and the time it takes from A to Z. Oh and Viewers love to see blooper videos 😂

Thats awesome Hank!
Congratulations Mike ! You didn't walk away from it all, you walked *into* it all. And don't apologize for getting 'off-track', I love those stories !
It is very different when one retires TO something rather than FROM something. You already are doing so well!!
Good luck, guys. Great family. Wishing you all the best.
Good for you, Mike. I just turned 69 and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
Doug, I've been saying that for years.
At 77 I’m still trying to figure it out LOL
Great comment and thanks so much!
I’m happy for you Mike, looking forward to more content
i was diagnosed with Asperger's many many years ago you have my deepest respect for the way your teaching hunter.
keep on rocking and doing what works for you
My parents wanted to be that way, then Mom passed away and Dad went into a home and passed. Their plans got taken away! Don't let yours get stolen!
Indeed. We have very little time on the planet. Make every minute count.
so sorry for your loss. Mine have been gone a long time and I still think, Oh, Dad will laugh at this, or, Mom will laugh about that.
Congratulations Mike! My goal was to retire ("walk away") at 55 and I finally achieved it at 56 but the company asked me to stay an extra year. I'm now on my 7th year of "walking away" and loving it. May God's blessing continue for you and your great family!
I’m 75 and have had more transitions than I can count! But the Lord is guiding us through it al (6 Kids, 1 wife).
Retired:
You wake up in the morning with nothing to do and you are only half finished by bedtime👍
And by the end of the week you'll be so far behind you'll have to put it all off till next week,,,,,,,,, 🤔
I can't believe Melissa made him quit his job just to get everything ready for Hannah's wedding! 😍
LOL
Six Saturdays and a Sunday. Welcome to the club! I'm 53 and livin the rural life.
Michael

Hold it so close to me .
THANKS 🙏 🙂
Sorry Mike, retired 4 years ago! You think you will have more time, but in reality you will have less! 😂 Love every minute of it!! Congratulations!
The big advantage is"Every day is a weekend" !
With Mike’s speaking skills and camera presence he could produce training videos on how to build a successful RUclips channel. Tim
“Mike home with me every day”! Lol. Relax Melissa it’ll be fun.
Here expression was priceless when he said that
@@robertlagrange6388 yep! Mike's thinkin, ...no more bagged lunches and lookin for 'P' stops !
You’re going to love living your life without having to answer to the man. Congratulations, Mike!
I retired from the Missouri State Highway patrol two years ago. You are absolutely going to love YOUR time. Have fun, I know I do!
That famous saying: "Find a way to do what you love and you won't work a day in your life."
Truly inspirational! It really put some things in perspective for me. I appreciate that ! 🙏
Congratulations!!God Bless you and your family. "The days are long, but the years are short!!"
Wow!
Same here. I am balling. What a beautiful thing. So very happy for them
Congratulations, Mike! I've watched your channel for years now and knew this day would come for you. Good for you! You're an inspiration man!
Congratulations. Not many would have the courage to do what you just did, but I bet there isn't no one who wishes they could.
I never know what day it is. Drives my baby crazy. Not having a regular job rules. Congrats to you and your family.
Congrats Mike. I retired 2 years ago next month. Finally to the point I don’t k ow what day it is. Best thing I ever done, as you don’t live for ever. Looking forward to seeing you get more done.
That's some of the best news I've heard for a long time, I know your family will appreciate having you there at Home. Hi Hunter!!
Living the dream Mike and family, everyone is just so happy for what you’ve achieved. Loved every minute of what you have all done and so glad to have been along from the start.
Good morning Hunter and family and friends ;-) ;-) Congratulations Mike on the "New" job , and retirement from the "old" job ;-) ;-)
I have one alarm set. Sunday morning. So I don’t miss church. You’re gonna love being retired It’s totally awesome
I don't think you quite get it. He's not retiring. He's jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. As he said, you tubing is a whole lot harder than an 8 -5 job. Good luck Mike.
@@21burt15 you told another RUclips channel they don’t get what it is to be a RUclips channel? If anyone gets it, it would be them.
im retired and its true i dont know what day of the week it is and its feels great
Good luck Mike and Malissa!!! I love when good things happen for good People
Thanks, its 2024 now.
You just blew us away. What a decision. Good luck and god bless. Your hard work is paying off. Enjoy your family.
You said your goal is “to not know what day it is.”
THAT was the very first thing I lost track of when I retired!
And I love it!!!
Congratulations guys! We are so happy for you- live your best life! 😊💪
Thanks!
When is Josh building you a pool?
We follow you guys also
Great RUclips Channels
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans l love seeing the 2 of you on TV.
Congratulations Mike, Melissa and all the Morgans on showing how things can change if you dream and work hard.
Change is good ! 👍
Wish I had met someone like you here on the eastern shore of MD. Quite an inspiration. Thanks Mike and Melissa.
Congrats on finding what you want to do in life. There’s no better feeling
Like many others watching this channel, I’ve been looking forward to the day you posted this video. What’s even more enjoyable is reading the comments, you have inspired so many and have a great community all wishing you the best
Really happy for you Mike and family. Can't wait to meet up again soon !
Good decision! Now, for your sake, and Melissa’s, exercise and get yourself in shape. You will live longer, and have even more energy.
Noel, we will see if that happens. You are absolutely right!
Congratulations Mike, follow your passions and you'll never get bored. Monday morning should be interesting, breaking a years-old habit and replacing it with a new one
Congrats on retirement and being a full time RUclipsr.
Mike home every day, Melissa will need a lot of prayers :-))
Good stuff Mike, well said and well done 💪🏻
Way to go Mike, l knew you would retire soon, your a hard worker. I met you around 2 years ago at Paul Bunyan and l had just retired at 52 from a school district job and we were discussing you wanting to retire. Your a hustler, you will do great.
Now you have the time to do things without worrying about trying to get things done before the sun goes down, good luck in your endeavors!
Most people just need to hear good news and normal life these days. Cheers Dan and Ann from TN.
Congrats Mike and Melissa! Retirement = “Everyday is Saturday and you now get to focus on what you want to do!”
It's about time, the rest of us kinda knew this was going to happen, best of luck to the Morgans
yep--totally saw this coming.
Congratulations! I’m happy for you! I enjoy your videos. Looking forward to seeing the new videos.
Congrats, I’ll bet that was a big decision for you and your family. Best of luck to you!
It's crazy how one can make a living from filming themselves doing normal or crazy stuff and I just want to say thank you Mike and to all other creators for giving us awesome stuff to watch !
Congrats on your ''new'' job !
What a fine example of how it is done. Congrats. You give us all a great example of how to work hard and achieve your goals.
All day project squoze down to 10-15 minutes.... that’s hard work right there! That’s been one of my toughest challenges! And yes squoze is a word. Congrats!
Squeeze- Squoze- Squozed- Squozen! It's all good!
"Retired" at 60 after 40 years of 60 to 70 hour weeks. You are about to be amazed at the freedom you are going to experience. Your time is now your own. And Melissa is about to discover how truly useful you are. Wish you the very best my friend. God bless the Morgan's.
I love retirement

MIKE, !!!! You're dream has FINALLY come to reality! The train has left the station! Enjoy your time, family, and life! God Bless yinz guys in this new chapter! Well deserved !
“1000 subscribers by my birthday” remember that Mike? It seems like yesterday mate, so very happy and excited for you and the Morgan clan. Glad to have been here from the start, cheers. Adam, Australia
After reading thru many of the comments, the thought came to me that you will now have time to assist Hunter in launching “Hunter’s Hardwoods” firewood bundles! Tim
Good for you. I retired in December and love every minute of it.
Congrats Mike, so very happy for you. My Great Grandfather was a dentist for 55 yrs, he told me not long before he passed away, 'I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.' Enjoy this, you have most definitely earned it.
Hi from Oz, after 40 years in heavy industry I gave it away at 58. 8 years later you couldn't knock the smile off my face with a stick. Good luck mate! Take care.
Soon as I saw your headline I knew it . Good luck on your endeavor.
