I love customers who stand and watch the work performed and don't say a word. Took a lot to make the big pile. Maybe they could have said place it over there?
The most impressive part of this video was you closing the locks on the bucket as easily as you did without having to use your feet or a hammer. Amazing what treating equipment right and greasing it will do.
Howdyyawl from the land down. Well Matt, some times some people leave a mess, then you come along & clean it all up. Well done. You should be very busy😊
For sure but unfortunately the people most readily available are the ones who make messes. I supposed one could be charitable and say that at least they appear to want to work.
Ain't it the truth! Just hired a friend to help me "complete" a paver sidewalk project that the original company left in a mess. Will eventually cost almost double, but could not leave it as it was :-(
Cameras are great. I have used Foscam cameras for years. I also have two at my camper nine miles away that I can access by computer or smartphone. Yes, motion detect, move the cameras and more. At your farm you can have them there too. If no power, use solar panel/batteries. Works great like a cellphone and you can remotely login see any activity, have them email you etc... Keep it going Matt, trying to watch all 200 plus videos of Diesel Creek.. Sam
That is how we all learned to operate any kind of material moving equipment. " move this pile of soil from here to over there. Don't move anymore than that pile , take your time , do a professional Job "
For what's it worth, the Reolink cameras are excellent. I've installed the same ones at my place and they've been running more than 2 years now without a burp.
Always work fixing mistakes and messes made by someone else. In areas with lots of construction I know couples who make good pay cleaning construction sites and then do the final cleaning and prepare the interior for inspection and occupancy. Used to be contractors had a couple of kids, drop outs or high schoolers who did the site clean up, but finding and keeping good workers is hard to do.
Thank God You Fixed Them Squeaking Dang Tracks..lol. That Is Soooo Much Better ! ! Thank You !! That Was Like Nails On A Chalk Bord O & Not That I Am Complaining But I Liked The Last 10 Seconds Better Than The Rest Put Together..lol.! I Want To See More Of Them Old Shovels ! !
I put in a pool like that many years ago. Had to dig down about 30" on the high side. When we started laying out the bottom frame we had our kids convinced it was a huge yard clock. Didn't take them long to realize what it was. Can't seem to remember what I did with the dirt though. All dug by hand in Georgia gotta-love-it-red-clay. I did trench around the perimeter and installed a drain pipe in gravel below the level of the bottom track. I have a similar camera setup...8 wired cameras at 1080P with the 2TB hard drive and battery backup. It displays on my 50" bedroom TV so if the dogs bark at night or I hear something I just turn on my TV and can see all around my yard without getting out of bed. Has the app too which is great. It's about 5 years old and I'm glad to see the technology you installed is much higher resolution for about the same price. Check the laws concerning recording conversations...I think it's illegal to record a conversation unless at least one side knows it's being recorded. Looks like you visited shovel heaven there at the end...can't wait to see that!
Wow that was cool seeing the old shovels working at the end. You did a great job at moving the mess around looks a whole lot better. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
Oh no..... Matt you’re not thinking of another “project” visiting that excavator museum? Thanks for the videos. I always enjoy your humor....subtle as it is.
Matt you hit that bucket. That doesn't count. The work that you do is fantastic!! I drove forklift for 33 years. I hit bean. Didn't see it. It was in my blind spot. Knock me silly!! Lol😊
Matt, I love your work ethic, even if you have too many projects. I guess if you didn’t have those projects there would not be much content on Diesel Creek. Good work, looking forward to the next video.
When I was building pools in the UK, I came across so many complete nuggets who didn't have a clue what they were doing. It would have been a pleasure to work with you, Matt.
Matt your security wirers should be cabled tied together not lose like you got them, but it easier to find a prob like you got them with out cutting the ties.
Just installed my own security cameras through my Google Nest system. Also very easy, all wireless besides power. Had to wire up some receptacles in the attic for them, but gave me an excuse to have more power connections up there for future projects. Everything can be seen from my phone which is very nice and convenient.
@Diesel Creek, Sometimes you have those. Important thing is to make em happy (within reason) but if their still unhappy, there's something wrong with them. Don't let it bother u.
Better still, go above and beyond (within reason) what the person has asked you to repair so word of mouth brings in more business, nothing better than free advertising from happy customers. Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺
I love my reolink camera system..I have 7 cameras, they and the rest of the system has been going strong for 4 years now! (My cameras are only 4mp though as they didn't have 8mp ones when I installed my system).
@@hillppari Technically you're right but as somebody who got used to working with CCTV systems when they were still analog DVR slips off the tongue without me thinking about it. Either way it's a small easy to steal box when it's left on show.
Bad internet cables (especially when new) are often fixable by replacing the ends (the RJ45 plug). You can buy replacement RJ45 plugs and boots (boot is the rubberized covering that makes the cable strain relief and usually covers the little locking tab that loves to break off. A tool to crimp the RJ45 plug on is relatively cheap (should be less than $20, unlike the early days when they were selling them for upwards of $500) . The big thing to remember is to properly order the wires to either the T-568A (Military) or T-568B (AT&T) standard. That's how you can turn a "bad" cable into a good one. A pack of plugs, boots and a crimping tool usually costs less than a another cable and if you add a box of cable ($40 to $60 for Cat5E) you can make exact length cables for yourself. While it may be "electronics" the making of a cable is actually right in your wheelhouse of using tools.
Was that a "drag line" Crane museum at the video's end? Cool old iron. Nice job reclaiming their yard. Tough dirt to work with for sure. Security camera systems are the necessary norm in our messed up society. Looks like a good system. 👍
Enjoy your channel man, never got time mention your "surface water" problem. One is the effect of removing trees for every inch in girth of tree they require 10 gallons of water a week. As you also know the water table can take years to realign. I think you may need to dig some drainage trenches leading to sump holes that will piggy back to where your property and the stream comes down the road in some old clogged drain and then goes off down your boundary to the creek. I once had a site with ground water problems I would scrape the roads and have the slurry on some land to "dry out", I went on it one day and sunk to my knees.LOL I was lucky that day, after which I dragged myself out with a pallet and rode the bucket of a machine. He hoistered me out, I then went about sorting this slurry, it had to be dealt with and invested some money. Lucky it wasn't mine!.🤣
You should have brought the wheel loader. You could have moved that pile in 2-3 cycles. Glad to see you made it to National Pike. The weather was great there this year, wasn't it. I had a blast.
Always fun cleaning up other people's messes. Really hoping you have more video if the old junk still digging dirt. Maybe it's a good thing I am broke cause I want one.
Harbor Freight has a 4 camera Cobra system expandable to 8 cams that works just like this for $250, mine works great with the app when away also. Just throwing that out there.
At the farm I've been spending 10+ hours in the tractor lately for land prep and planting. Can you please send me your fast forward magic you used in the first part of the video so I can get the work done faster. haha That homeowner should be pleased now, you did one heck of a clean up job for them! 👍
Hey Matt, what the heck was that place right at the end?? All that beautiful old machinery, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Please show and tell us all about this place. Great job with the Bobcat, in a few months they won't even see where you've been. I like the security set up too, you can never have to much security these days. Many thanks. David in the U.K.
I love that you left your bucket change faux pas in the video, Matt. People who never make mistakes are people who don't do anything.
Heck. I even make mistakes watching videos! 😂
GrayD45205 you are absolutely right I have made mistakes sometimes to lol when make a mistake I just look at what I did and laugh.😂🤣

AND, it's WAY faster than my neighbors Bobcat that has hydraulic locks, that don't work worth a hoot.
Ya I see a lot of people really struggle with them... i don’t get it. Just grease them every time and they are like butter
I gotta jiggle the mess out of mine. I should probably work on them a little.
Howdyyawl from the land down. Well Matt, some times some people leave a mess, then you come along & clean it all up. Well done. You should be very busy😊
I could tell your not happy with that wet clay. I feel that. Wet mushy material is so hard to clean up nice. I think it turned out great!
That was one heck of a steal. A bigtoy that will keep you busy for months. You had some good help getting it home😊
neatly finished with the skid steer. 👍🏻Wouldn't it just have been better to mill the turf on which you applied the topsoil?
Bobcat is the ancestor of Wall-E. Just a joy to watch it work.
Looks like a clean job!
Why is that watching this always makes me to get my old Zep vinyl out again? (This is intended as a compliment in case anyone is wondering.)
I had to chuckle at the crafty way you disappeared all that fill. Very nice , once the grass comes back over there no-one will ever notice.
Now that was one Heck of a nice job you did! 🚜
That ending clip with old excavators, is it heaven?
Yes, a rare look inside the pearly gates lol

He didn't fix them, he already said previously they cannot be greased, it all depends on the type of soil he's running in and the humidity i guess.
Matt you are very good at what you do! Tanx 4 sharing.
Nice to see someone sorting out the problems caused by Bojit and Scarper Pool Services (Pay us up front, we mess up and run away...)

What a brilliant piece of machinery that Bobcat is......

WOW. Those shovels at the end of the video are AWESOME! Haven't seen those since I was a kid!
Looks much better,
I can imagine trying to work with Clay and grass clumps.

Matt,

Just a tip with clay soil dump about 1 yard of sand onto about every 3 yards of clay

Great job Matt, but let it dry a bit or add top soil and run a soil conditioner then you are seed or sod ready.
Nice video! Fixing another person's mess is the worst.
the song during the skid steer time lapse sounds like a cat meowing
I hope that last footage at the end is a preview to an upcoming video. I'd love to see that old stuff working.
Awesome job... Looking forward to an update on Christine and her radiator :)
You made it look a lot better.
The very last snippet with the old shovels....

Best bonus bit was at the end with all the shovel cranes could do a bit of a vlog on them 😀😀👍

Great video as always Matt
Just FYI, during the ReoLink part there was a lot of high range distortion in the right channel. Keep it up!
I was thinking my phones were bad.
@@jonka1 No, my guess is he was just using a cell phone with it too close to his mouth, causing the clipping.

You need a soil conditioner my friend. I have one and my goodness it makes a huge difference and almost no effort. You do nice work.
The DVR for your CCTV could do with being concealed. A lot of thieves are smart enough to just take the DVR when they go if it's left on display.
Or just steal the cameras themselves?
Technically its NVR
