Great story, I love listening to your show on Apple Podcasts. One person I would love to see on your show would be Nick Irving. From being an Army Ranger sniper to now being a best selling author, I think his story in your interview method would be outstanding and great for people getting out and dealing with the dreaded transition.
82nd was great we was almost always tasked out to teams . we never jumped when i was there , went immediatly to afhgan in 02 iraq 03 - 04 afghan 05 was fast
Hearing him speak of the captain stuck out to me. I was in the regular army and looking back the best leaders I got the most from were the decent ones. Maybe not always so nice but they always had a purpose or a good message that eventually came through.
New medics showing up to a line unit is a rough day. Loved are medics, and yes, they always had great advice. Like if someone had a minor std to wait it out because the army didn't fuck around and would swab them immediately, lol. So did everyone who got eye surgery have to have their CO break the rules too? Makes sense.
"...you have to treat em like they're a motorcycle and you're a mechanic." Yup, otherwise you're emotions can get the beat of you. Good on ya buddy! Airborne!
This veteran was on point. Great podcast. Very interesting to hear about personal experiences in the 82nd
Another awesome story. EVERYONE who went down range has a story of their experience. Whether they were a clerk, cook or driver.
Another 82nd medic like me! I never thought I’d see an interview like this
Did you know a combat engineer named Patricio Lobato?
Don’t know how I missed this interview. Great interview with Colin. Like his attitude and I know he truly strives to make a positive difference!

The more I hear about Kent State and see the way these types of things are reported in the media, the less I believe the narrative.
