Small business, 1 person on payroll. I need to be able to write paycheck for employee, run reports for the taxes that need to be paid and file and pay them myself. How does this integrate with my end of year profit and loss report that I sent to my tax accountant. I currently use QB for payroll and am looking to change over to a different payroll accounting program.
Good review. I wanted to get your opinion. I am a very small business as a License contractor in California. I am a C-corp. I have only two W2 employee's myself as one. I keep track of my own bookkeeping. My gross yearly revenue is only 100k to 200k I am looking at getting Gusto for my payroll and tax services. Should I keep my CPA and save the cost of a CPA ?
Thanks for the overview. I’m working alone as a sole proprietor under an LLC and am thinking of shifting my designation to an LLC recognized as a S-Corp. As part of the shift, I need a payroll service but am afraid many are too much/inflated for my needs. Any thoughts on Gusto or others?
Gusto is a good one for this because they had a product for one-employee businesses. However, MAKE SURE that your business is making enough profit to justify the switch to S-corp. Have your CPA run a few scenarios to make sure you will have tax savings. Many people make this jump too early, and it drives me crazy that they take the added compliance without saving money!
Hi! This was an awesome video thank you so much. Clara, would you be able to dive a bit more into their custom reports, and do you have any commentary on how you like their customer service support?
how do benefits management work in gusto? do you have to add per employee or can you create a template for all employees together? I wish you had gone more into detail with benefits.
Hey, how does Gusto know the hours worked? Am I missing something? Currently our employees use a time card that they hand write but in all of the videos that I have watched on the topic, I have not seen anyone actually put the hours into Gusto, they always just sort of appear.
We use Gusto and our 401k provider does not integrate with them, so we've been manually deducting 401k savings each pay period. We have hourly employees that work different amount of hours per week. Would you guys recommend using a 401k provider that integrates with Gusto? The manual entries are getting a bit tedious lol
Hi Hanna.. my firms payroll accountatn resigned and I would like to step up and ask my employer to do the job. Do you have a video or trainings on how to make a payroll procedures? Thanks.
As a Payroll Manager for a small business, I do love how simple and easy to understand Gusto.
A very helpful, thorough yet comprehensive review. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks. Perfect timing, because my new business venture is adding two full time and contractors starting in January of 2024. Again thanks.
Great time to get started with a new payroll provider! Gusto is great for contractors too and takes care of the 1099s! woohoo!

If we have 1099 contractors in other states but we only need Gusto to do "payroll" would we still need the Plus version?

Thank you for the great tutorial. Quick question, does Gusto allow you to approve paying the taxes instead of automatically paying them?
A very helpful and easy-to-use software
