AMAZING relays! Another vintage gem on camera!
Awesome. I like the old elevators that best. I lived here during the flood of 85
The 54 Otis was awesome! And who knew there was a DOVIS elevator here with custom impulse
Amazing elevators. The building looks like an office building or perhaps even a hospital.
It used to be a bank.
EPIC Elevator y'all with EPIC MOTOR Y'ALL I wish the other OTIS Elevator wasn't decommissioned and was still running and working
AMAZING ELEVATORS!!!!! And wow, you were excited at the beginning!!!!
This is your best video yet ! Thank you so much for sharing . ;)
+Jerrad Campbell Without your kindness this video would’ve not been possible
3 vintage elevators in one spot + motor rooms, how cool is that
!
It was an amazing visit! :)
dover impulse always looks great.
Tell me about it!!!!! This is AWESOME!!!!
That was nice of him showing you the elevators
Amazingly nice elevators, and in the case of the Otis that is still original 63 years later, it sure is amazing but not surprising that the controller and power unit survived a big floor. Try that with a modern elevator that uses a microprocessor controller.
Custom impulse should be brought back tbh
What an awesome building!
Very very cool Video!
I found out Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke, VA got an antique caged elevator car within the last month. They may still have it, but I can't say for sure.
That COP is actually the more rare version of custom Dover Impulse.
cool 1950 Otis lift dieselducy
That was amazing.
The Motor on the 1954 Otis sounds relatively quiet
I did like the defunct one because it was tucked away in a wierd spot I always like little tucked away elevators like that I think its really cool
Me too
OLD OTIS = AWESOME :) FRIRND
Beno would love this location!
That poor little old elevator. The 2nd Otis was great though. All original. Just the way it should be.
next time I'm up I would love if he could show me this.
Let me know when u are in Roanoke again and I will see what I can do.
your always my best bud :)
9:46 in theory that tiny little elevator could be restored since the cab and whats left of the machinery and the cables look in good shape but that would unfortunatelly involve modding it and buying all new equipment for it since the motor and controller were ripped out and it would need a good clean up job
The 3rd elevator needs to be completely replaced unfortunately. The cab might need to be rebuilt as well
I do like on the modern one how they kept the original otis flyball safety govenor on it
Me too
I actually had no idea the man you were with was the owner of the building
Yep 👍
Amazing! Thanks Andrew!
I just would like to ask you if I can extract some sounds from your video for the Skyscrapersim game.
SURE!! be my guest! just please give me credit.
Ok thanks you very much! Is a "readme.*" file, good for you ?
Hi I’m new I sub to you and good work
Thanks!
DieselDucy you are welcome
The 3rd one is the oldest elevator. I think it was built in 1907.
Hi I love elevators
On the otis that was working there was a keyswitch on the inside panel I wonder if that was independent service or something
I am not sure.
I’m not to much a fan of old elevators but they are interesting
This thing is beautiful.
That first elevator is a ThyssenDover mod.
Who has fear of going in a elovator/lift?
Reply!
When was the 3rd elevator built?
👍
Can someone tell mi if where this is
What is the purpose of this black device at 1:45 with the 2 turning spheres and the spring?
that is an Otis governor, which limits the speed the elevator can travel.
@@LongboatLtd2004 Thx!!! :-)
If the 3rd elevator gets completely replaced or if the future of the building is to be demolished (which I hope not) try to get the buttons from that elevator and the C O P. Well if the whole building was to be demolished I would get all the buttons from all the elevators
can he get the entire car?
stv pls I don't think so. If he could, that would be very tough. You would have to dismantle it or knock down the shaft very carefully possibly to get it. But generally when elevators get completely replaced, they are demolished from inside the shaft. So I don't think he would get it. But hey, we can all dream right?!😂
stv pls It would not be an easy job at all. You would have to get someone very professional to do that
BAKELITE OTIS FIXTURES!
They are amazing!
Also, congrats on 40K subscribers! :D
Definitely one of my favorite fixtures!!! I prefer them over Lexan and the Newer Lexan Black Buttons!!!! But those are Awesome too!!!
