crocheting blind is a skill that develops- I feel your pain, since I've taught a blind person fiber arts, so I had to learn how to knit and crochet blind as well. Staring straight forward is a good start, but now I also know how to crochet in the dark!
I love love love the block head octo❤. Also I'd be careful sharing your hook storage tips, you may have everyone storing theirs on the floor too. 😂 anyway I wanted to know what "kind" of spider is showcased behind you.
Haha, that ones a freebie. I can't keep all my genius crochet hook storage solutions to myself. I didn't base the designs on any particular spider species, but on a little cartoon spider I'd drawn. Though, if you meant the white one with the purple/grey/black stripes, that's an ace pride spider.
The square octopus is so cute! I would not have the patience to crochet 8 mini cubes and would for sure just used a chain an some slip stitches or something as legs 😅
I think a swap stitches one would be fun! To explain, like a single crochet would be a double treble, a double crochet would be a treble, a treble would be a double, etc. and maybe a popcorn stitch would be something like a shell stitch. I'd really like to see that!
Loving the monochrome and the rainbow octopuses (octopi? octopodes? whatever! lol) but great auntie's yarn was pretty damn horrific, to be honest. It might make useful stuffing though!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! Crochet blindfolded: Goofy glasses counts as blind, right? Yarn chicken: Well I'm obviously not going to use the yarn that might not get the job done (exactly what yarn chicken is and the challenge didn't specify that you had to WIN yarn chicken.) Use a fibre you've never used before: So I'm going to use a fibre that I have used before. You make the rules and yet you still cheat. Have you considered running for public office?🤣🤣🤣🤣 (Love your vids, btw, I'm just teasing.)
The square octopus looks cute! I had a completely different thing in mind with the prompt so I didn't understand what you were doing until I saw the end result :') The monochrome one is pretty as well 🐙
an inspiration! I love them all. I was hoping you would make your cube octo, with 2 3block pieces, that would have saved you so much sewing lol! I love your challanges
You did so well with the blindfolded one especially using that yarn. I think if you used an acrylic it would have turned out perfect so you did an amazing job
Something else you could’ve done for the block octopus was for the strip piece you could’ve crocheted a border around it then used those stitches to make squares off each side so it was all one piece instead of 3.
Love the cube octopus sooo cute but the wool challenge I couldn’t watch you do it because the texture and how you described it like I just couldn’t, my autism was like nope. Lol
This was fun! Also wow I would not be able to create anything that looks that good blindfolded XD How about a scrap yarn project? Tie some scraps together and make a colourful fish maybe?
I love your challenges! They make me want to challenge myself to try new things, I have actually done my first amigurumi thanks to your goldfish pattern. :D
You have no idea how much that means to hear. Amigurumi has had such a positive impact on my life and being able to share that with others is... nice. I'm struggling to think of the right word here lol. Nice doesn't quite do it justice. I'd highly recommend trying out challenges if you can, they really are a lot of fun!
@@SkeinSpider, I might try a challenge when I'm more use to chrocheting amigurumi. I crochet blankets, scarfs, hats and that kind of garments, I don't have to try and remember a pattern if it's big and more or less the same... ;)
I would usually donate it, but this stuff is really awful (and smelly for some reason lol) so I don't want to inflict that on anyone! So, into the stuffing bag it goes.
I have a idea have you ever seen those stuff crocheted or knitted with plastic bag yarn like you make yarn out of plastic bags you can check on yt how to make it :))))))))
Couldve tied a scarf around your eyes. That would be fair. This wasn’t anywhere near blindfolded. Very unfair to make a challenge you cant fairly complete

Challenge idea:
* crochet a square with your ♾️ LARGEST crochet HOOK 🪝
* With your 🤏 SMALLEST ACRYLIC YARN 🧶
The square octopus is so cute! I would not have the patience to crochet 8 mini cubes and would for sure just used a chain an some slip stitches or something as legs 😅
Yeah, if it wasn't part of the challenge, I probably would have done something similar lol.
the cubes octopus was my favorite. I might make one myself 😯
I actually really liked the cube octopus. Though, it might partly be the yarn choice.
Agreed, I really like that rainbow yarn. Kind of bummed there's not much left.
The wool octopus looks like its made of cardboard or burlap
You're not wrong XD
That wool yarn is *weird*! I wonder what the heck that is. I have plenty of wool yarn and none of it is like that.
Seriously, I have no idea. Knowing my Great Auntie, it could be up eighty years old, so I wouldn't even begin to know where to start figuring it out.
Extra likes for the fact that you do Eraserhead cosplay! He is one of my favorite characters. He is the tire dad of class 1A.

Love that idea!
The square octopus is so cute!
Cheers :)
I like the rainbow and the blocky one😊.
Loving the monochrome and the rainbow octopuses (octopi? octopodes? whatever! lol) but great auntie's yarn was pretty damn horrific, to be honest. It might make useful stuffing though!
Cheers, it was definitely horrific and is already in my yarn scrap bucket, which I use for stuffing :).

In the wise words of Captain Barbosa: "They're more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules." ;) lol
The flat octopus was my favorite one you did in the video 🥰
Create a jelly fish and change colours every 20 stitches
That's very specific. I like it lol.
@@SkeinSpider specific and random are the best lok
Blindfold octopus is in the process of regrowing some tentacles.
Underrated comment 😂😂
@@ConfusedMushroomXD XD
Headcanon accepted lol
My fav was the square octopus 🤗 here's another challenge for ya, is to crochet backwards aka the crab stitch 🤩
That'll be a tough challenge, I don't use the crab stitch very often. But it's added to the list!
I have a great challenge idea make a create using only rounded parts
I love the square octopus.
The square octopus looks cute! I had a completely different thing in mind with the prompt so I didn't understand what you were doing until I saw the end result :') The monochrome one is pretty as well 🐙
Thanks! What did you have in mind for it (if you don't mind me asking)? It might be something I can include for next time.
@@SkeinSpider I think it's called application? At least they are flat designs and less time consuming :)
That's what I was thinking also
Do a dolphin crochet? The octopuses turned out great. Even the blindfolded one.
Honestly for the block I would have just made a long strip and sewn up the length and bottom but it would be a tube and not a block. Nice dedication!
.....that might've been my original intention lol.
I love the octocube!
I like the rainbow / pride octopus
an inspiration! I love them all. I was hoping you would make your cube octo, with 2 3block pieces, that would have saved you so much sewing lol! I love your challanges
Cheers! :)
Suggestion: do 2 challenges at once (spin wheel for both)
That's a good one! :)
Love the square one!
Maybe use the gross yarn as stuffing?
I was thinking that too! Cut into 2-3 cm strips and it’ll fluff up amigurumi just as well as polyester stuffing
That's what I was planning to do :). I'll just chop it up and add it to the bucket of yarn scraps.
You did so well with the blindfolded one especially using that yarn. I think if you used an acrylic it would have turned out perfect so you did an amazing job
Totally agree, acrylic yarn would have been a lot easier!

The flat octopus was my favorite. I would love a pattern so I can make a few cube octopi.
I might share the pattern at some point. Will probably have to do a bit of a rework first though, this one was....kind of rough lol.
Im so sad that most of the octopus don't have eyes 😥 How cruel! It's like "they not worth it" that makes me sad because they are cute!
It’s a Minecraft octopus. 😂 that’s a real challenge, not easy to do it but you’ve do a good job. 😘
Yeah, I reckon it has minecraft vibes lol. And thank you!
Do a cactus!! Your videos are awesome!!
Love the cube octo!!
Love the cube octopus sooo cute but the wool challenge I couldn’t watch you do it because the texture and how you described it like I just couldn’t, my autism was like nope. Lol
More than fair, I would've noped right out of there if I could have!
Your videos are so much fun! Thank You!

Nice! Always love a good scrap yarn project :)
I love your challenges! They make me want to challenge myself to try new things, I have actually done my first amigurumi thanks to your goldfish pattern. :D
Same here! The challenge videos are so much fun, and they've definitely been my gateway into amigurumi.
Her goldfish is the first pattern I’ve transcribed into my patterns notebook, I’m so excited to actually make him this weekend!
@@katelillo1932 Same here! Well, I haven't started a pattern notebook but I maybe should... 😁

Add a tuxedo to a pattern. (challenge idea?)
Yarn that I really hate working with I donate or use as stuffing. YOU DID GREAT!!!!!
I would usually donate it, but this stuff is really awful (and smelly for some reason lol) so I don't want to inflict that on anyone! So, into the stuffing bag it goes.
You should crochet with a huge hook! If possible one of the largest is a 35mm. It calls for some pretty large yarn as well. 😂
These videos are always so fun to watch😍 well done on completing these challenge!
P.s. I think that 100% wool might be perfect for tufting!
I've never tried tufting. Maybe this wool will be my excuse to finally give it a go.
My suggestion is for you to do a mosaic pattern
Cop out on the yarn chicken lol
A bit lol
C2C can be done pretty easily without looking
I haven't tried C2C yet, so I'll have to take your word for it ;)
A HAT, if you don’t have it, MAKE IT AN ANIMAL
@SkeinSpider is there a way to download the wheel you're using?
For the first challenge could you have done the chain & sc3 in the same stitch as the octo legs?
I have a idea have you ever seen those stuff crocheted or knitted with plastic bag yarn like you make yarn out of plastic bags you can check on yt how to make it :))))))))
Yes!! That's a great idea. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on some plastic bags to make some.
I'm glad you like the idea :)))))) love from south africa 🇿🇦 ❤️
Chalange idea
Speedrun minecraft but you must crochert every item you collect.
Omg! No way....but also that would be aweome lol.
I love this design! Do you have a pattern for it?
Not at the moment but I'll probably start working on a tutorial soon.
🤩🤩🤩
More pattern smash uos, maybe just half half, could be funny.
try a fine yarn and large hook
Donate the yarn to a local art teacher!
Day one of asking for an orca
I like your videos but you speak too softly for how loud you put the music 😅 play more yarn chicken!
Thanks for the feedback :)
