Thank you - for my machine I customized 145 pressure for the dollar tree glitter and named it $Glitter. It cut perfect on my cricut joy without going all the way thought the whole vinyl. I am still testing for other $ vinyls.
Thank you for this video! I just picked up some Dollar Tree glitter and regular vinyl. This will save me some guessing work when cutting with my Cricut Joy.
Hi hun I’m new to cricut. I have a small cricut joy. Only had mine a week but I really wanted to make the dt vinyl work so I tried a few settings. The one that finally worked without cutting all the way through was premium vinyl with less pressure for the regular vinyl and then the pink glitter was premium vinyl with normal pressure. I have made several name tags for my husband’s job using the white vinyl with that setting and for my daughter a kitty and her name to go on her xbox in the pink glitter. I even used very small sizes and so far the only trouble was small sized cursive style fonts. Hope this helps someone!
Hey Nia! Thanks for sharing what worked for you, I'm sure it will help someone. I did recently share a custom setting I used in a recent video if you wanna try it out ruclips.net/video/aIdLLFmPjXo/видео.html . Let me know what types of projects your looking to make with your Cricut Joy!
I just tried it out and am having a really hard time with it but I'm also a Cricut rookie lol... I just did a 6"x6" Gold foil piece and I also tried the pink foil in the same size and it won't stick to the clear side.. I tried to do some weeding and it is STUBBORN lol.
I don’t know how all Cricuts work but with my Brother scanNcut I can adjust blade pressure in increments of one at a time for more or less pressure until I get the right cut for the material I’m using. For example on Siser PTV I normally use -2 blade pressure
Hi Jay! I've heard great things about the Brother brand! The cricut does have the ability to adjust the default cut settings further. I just need to do more testing!😄
Hi! The setting was "Deluxe Paper Adhesive Backed". Since this video I have created a custom setting which works well with the regular Dollar Tree vinyl - you can see it in this video: ruclips.net/video/aIdLLFmPjXo/видео.htmlsi=lk6yJht5uZIr0SmH The video details how to add the custom setting. Let me know if that helps!
I haven't had any issues on my Explore 3. Each machine is a little different with cut settings. I use window cling more pressure for regular and Glitter vinyl. For their HTV I use Mosiac more pressure. I just made a Halloween Tee and have washed and dried it with no issues. I have even put permanent vinyl on a coffee mug and wash in the dish washer. I guess I'm lucky.
It could be the image you are using, or your mat, or your pressure settings. Because so far all my projects have been with DT vinyls and came out good. It takes practice, that’s why for a good price you can practice on it.
It's been a while since this video, but if I recall correctly I did try the vinyl setting. Unfortunately not all "vinyl" material is created equal. Also cut settings in design space are made to work specificall with Cricut products, so it may not cut another brand as easily or too deeply. Hope that makes sense!
I appreciate your opinion Tamesha. I assure you I am not selling anything with this vinyl on it and this video was purely testing the quality. Some may want to use it for practice with designs before using more expensive materials, which is why I tested it. Are there any go-to brands you would suggest?
Washi sheet setting works flawlessly for me!!
Thanks! I'll have to try that one!
I think the joy does not support washi sheet
thank you!!! i did whasi tsheet and it works!!!!

I'm new to all this. How do you adjust the pressure so specifically on your Joy?
Thank you for this video! I just picked up some Dollar Tree glitter and regular vinyl. This will save me some guessing work when cutting with my Cricut Joy.
I found that washi sheet worked best with the $tree vinyl
Thank you! Worked perfectly!!
I can’t find the washi setting on the joy 😢
Oh, my gosh, thank you so much. This is the first setting I have found that has worked for me.!
Same! The window cling with "light" pressure is the only thing that has worked! @@sunnydays2053
There is no washi setting on the cricut Joy.

Thanks Mindy! I will go check it out! I wanted to make personalized gifts for my family and some cute tshirts ❤
Thank you. This information really helped me out.
I got the dollar tree to cut.....I put transfer tape on top of it before I cut
I bought them recently just to practice and not waste the good stuff on my mistakes lol 😅
Did you see the new foil iron on??? I got some but I’m scared to try it because I want it to work lol

I did see this at Dollar Tree, do they sell the transfer paper? Who sells the cheapest transfer paper? Thanks.
They do, but I'm telling you right now. The transfer paper sucks.
@@sunnydays2053i need some that sucks mine stick too much😂
What was the cut that worked for this. I don't see it. ===>01:46

Which cricut you use
The one in this video is the cricut joy. It's meant for smaller vinyl rolls.
They were all fails imo. I’ve tried all of the DT vinyls and they are all crap.
I thought it was me... I dont like to use the Siser Vinyl but I'll have to to tst it somewhere.

Which mat were you using?

Why even try cutting vinyl with cardstock setting? Obviously everyone would use vinyl setting.

@@mindyscraftyminutes Thank you. Yes it does make sense
STOP...... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CRAP IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL AND HOPE YOU'RE NOT SELLING IT TO FOLKS OUT HERE....... STOP

I’ve tried the Dollar tree vinyl on my Cricut and so far so good. Thank you for your videos.
It works flawlessly on the washi sheet setting!!!
