Jeffrey Winters I use almondmilk (unsweetened though) it's lower calorie and real milk messes with my stomach. though I add chipotle sauce to my mac and cheese
I love Kraft and Velveta mac and cheese for different reasons. Kraft takes me back to being a kid and in college!! Aaaaa....good times... and Velveta is what I hide Fresh broccoli 🥦 in for my son and hubby!!! Gotta get creative sometimes with both my boys!! Do you guys have frozen cauliflower in the shape of rice and spaghetti noodles over there? They are also a great way to get vegetables into peoples meals without them complaining and for the rest of us grownups who know we need to eat more healthy they are a fantastic alternative to rice and pasta!! And another one I love is zucchini spaghetti which I make with an attachment on my KitchenAid mixer… That one is pretty old-school by now but it really really works! I do the zucchini stirfry it with a bit of teriyaki and onion and toss in some lean chicken breasts cut up that I’ve cooked in the crockpot all day so they are really tender and juicy but still lean and healthy… (I also add onion and teriyaki sauce to the crockpot) since you guys are vegan what would you add to something like that in the place of meat? To anyone going to America and want to try the food, try these: - BBQ (Anywhere. Midwest, Texas, or Carolina preferred). Try burnt ends if you can find them, also pulled pork or ribs. - Fish Tacos, (west coast). Legit ones are fried fish with cabbage and some bomb sauce on corn tortillas - Lobster Rolls, crab cake, clam choweder (New england/East coast) - Philly cheese steak (anywhere) - Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad (anywhere) - Biscuits & Gravy (anywhere, but south preferred). If the gravy grosses you out, try a hot buttermilk biscuit on its own with some butter. - Non-Kraft Mac & Cheese, Shrimp & Grits, Cornbread, chicken pot pie (south preferred) - Burgers - hit or miss with burgers, try a few out. Don't be scared of the local hole in the wall places for a great burger. - Americanized Mexican Food (Southern west coast only) - Try enchiladas, carne asada burrito, tacos, flautas, taquito's - all with guacamole of course - Also try the American style of non-American classics like Gyro's, Pizza, Fish & Chips, etc - Snacks & candy: Sour punch straws, nerds rope, Butterfinger, Rice Krispies treats, twinkies, Reeses pb cups, starburst, Funyuns, Cheetos, Flamin hot Cheetos, Lays Salt & Vinegar chips, All sorts of Doritos, nachos from a 7-11 or a sporting event, Fun Dip,
Alyson Lloyd - No, hole in the wall taco shops in America, even in southern California, sell Americanized Mexican food. Literally every "burrito" is "Americanized" since a burrito isn't a Mexican food item. Taco Bell doesn't even count on the Mexican food spectrum in my world.
You definitely hit some great suggestions! I agree! (Also a suggestion with the biscuits...if you don't like the gravy try with butter and HONEY..so good! Idk where it's from but I learned it from my dad whos from New Jersey) Also, speaking as a Wisconsinite, they have to try squeaky cheese curds and deep fried cheese curds
FYI.... Rice Krispies Treats also has butter in them and and there is NO baking required, and How could you ruin the macaroni & Cheese like that!? Almond milk and you forgot the butter, have you never made it before, do you not know how to read the instructions on the box? you set the toaster on the light toast setting for pop tarts, the smores look like you put those it the microwave also in order to melt the marshmallow .... and the way you were explaining these snacks it sounded like you just learned about them yourself.....I'm sorry but if you REALLY are from the states then you have been gone too long and have forgotten how thing are done here
I'm from America, and pop tarts in general are considered a breakfast item, but not a complete, or proper breakfast. It was always an acceptable alternative when you do not have time for a good breakfast. Now as the crust on pop tarts goes, I think the word you are looking for is pie crust, it's a pie crust filled with jelly and covered in frosting and sprinkles. Not so much as a pastry.
They had the wrong person doing this. Forgot the butter, didn’t use regular milk in the Mac & cheese didn’t know you don’t bake Rice Krispies treats. Geez!!
Winifred Sanderson- I agree- that is just so wrong! But the toaster accident with the Pop_Tart was classic! There's even a warning on the label that that can happen!
How can she be presenting these American treats if she doesn't even know how they are made?! She totally botched the Mac-n-Cheese. There is actual milk in it. If you read the instructions you add milk, butter and the powder packet and mix. You don't bake rice crispy treats. She microwaved(eww) the poptarts because she's incable of using a freakin toaster. AND she didn't even bother to toast the mallows over an open fire.... Ugh... this was hard to watch.
S'mores are best when you can roast the marshmallow on the end of a stick over a camp fire (reference the movie Sandlot) Everyone has their own preference on the proper way to roast a marshmallow. My brother likes to stick the marshmallow into the hottest part of the fire and let catch on fire causing it to create a burnt crispy carmelized crust and the center is warmer causing the marshmallow to melt the chocolate bar a little more. He calls it a S'more fit for a god. Cause it is a burnt offering. (funny guy) I prefer to rotisserie my marshmallow to perfectly even golden brown and instead of a Hershey's bar I will use a reese's peanut butter cup. But the whole point is the campfire and family time.
That was a fun video. Almond milk totally changes the taste of the mac and cheese though. To me Easy Mac is the quintessential broke American college kid food.
nah ramen is the cliche super broke college food. Mac is def more common because it cheap but not dirt poor cheap. Most college kids are "broke" in terms of you aint eating steak and pasta every dinner you're eating box mac n' cheese or some other under 3-5 dollar meal .
I guess it depends on where one grows up. Where I come from, macaroni & cheese is a "grandma's Sunday dinner item (oven baked and casserole-y", so neon orange powder in a box meant that you're broke AND your parents couldn't cook.
Yess! Can’t forget the peanut butter! I make a big bowl during Christmas and usually end up throwing some of it away because it’s so sweet everyone gets tired of it. Haha. But so so good.
They should try some of these things Twinkie , Ding Dong, Ho Hos, Whoopie pie, Nutty Bars, Sno Balls, Snickers, Twix , Fritos, Tostitos, Pringles and some Doritos. i m going to store to get some.
We eat pop tarts for breakfast or a snack! I do not heat mine though. I don’t actually know anyone who does. It says to on the box. That’s more of a toaster strudel thing. We love camping and we love s’mores! Can I have s’more s’mores?Funny there is actually a s’mores flavored pop tart!!
ThatLazyWitch Exactly!! I don’t know anyone who heats them either. Although in the commercial the lizard tells the pop tart to hide in the toaster so he can get away from people trying to eat him. Then the lizard ate him. Maybe that was the intention of pop tarts but it never caught on!
Lia! If you tried camping with your friends, in the woods, by a fire, roasting your marshmellows and making your own S'More........ you would LOVE it! Friends, roasting, woods, camping ALL make a S'More AMAZING!!!
Before Pop Tarts came to town, there was a similar product called, “Toast’ems”. They didn’t have icing, but hat like a kind of large grain sugar toasted on the top and THAT deliciousness, combined with the APPLE flavor jame....Oh My God, Oh My God!!! What I wouldn’t give to eat an Apple Toast’em again! Once more, OH MY GOD IT WAS GOOD!!!!!
Pop-Tarts are definitely a breakfast item. Pop-Tarts is a brand name. They are technically “toaster pastries” I was adult before I ate them toasted. You can eat them right off of the package.
Americans do love chips and salsa/guac/7-layer dip, even though they're technically Mexican. Wonder how Brits would react to doughnuts as opposed to scones or crumpets.
Or English Muffins vs. Crumpets. My Aunt found Crumpets at Safeway Super Market and bought some. I tried one for the first time. They look like English Muffins in appearance but spungy in texture like a fluffy pancake.
@Hugh Hemington ??? There's nothing wrong with the pre-made RK Treats. The only time I've ever had an issue with them is if they are stale, but that is why you need to pay attention to the package! I agree that they are better if you make them at home, but the treats you buy at a store are hardly vile.
Joe and Lia they are a parent's saving grace for a hurried morning when you're running late. Kids still leave the house with something in their stomaches.
How to make homemade Rice Crispy treats: 1. Add a box of Rice Crispies, marshmallows, and butter/peanut butter to a pot 2. Slowly stir over low heat until the marshmallows and butter/peanut butter melts and covers the Rice Crispies (should look like a sticky ball) 3. Scoop out into a (usually rectangular) pan and spread (roughly evenly) with a spoon, paying particular attention to any edges 4. Cut a piece and enjoy (fresh Rice Crispy treats are the best, and they harden as they cool to room temperature)
Ok, a follow-up should definitely be made. On part 2: Twinkies, cheap package Ramen, Grilled cheese sandwich (with American cheese), and finally; OUR version of/what we call “pudding”
Not sure if any of these are there: Brownies, Beer Nuts, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Salt Water Taffy, Steak and Cheese Sandwich, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Cheese Its, Barbecue, Tater Tots...I have no idea what they have there. Your friends seemed very nice.
Boat Lover salt water taffy is delicious!! Have you ever had a grilled peanut butter sandwich? My mom use to make them and she first tried it as a kid when a family friend made it for her as a thank you.
Rice Krispie squares are made by melting butter in a saucepan and stirring in marshmallows and vanilla to the melted butter. Next, add the Rice Krispies cereal and pouring the completed mixture into a buttered square pan--packing it down to set. Some people now use different cereals as a substitute for the Rice Krispies but this cereal was the pioneer for this treat. You can also add things to the mixture before it is poured into the pan--ie. chopped dried fruit, mini M&Ms, seeds or nuts. When making this treat, it is not baked. FYI for anyone interested, the recipe with the correct proportions is on the website and usually on the cereal box. Kraft Dinner is made by adding butter added to freshly cooked pasta, adding the powder, and then adding milk. Many people add other things to it to further flesh out. ie. ketchup is the most popular with children. I add steamed broccoli, mushrooms, or peas. While often a meal unto itself, it is sometimes served as a side. Another camping treat other than 'smores is a banana boat. Take a peeled (?) banana. Place it on a square of foil wrap. Cut the banana in half lengthwise, adding chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. Completely wrap in the foil and place in the campfire for a couple minutes. Open the wrapper after a couple minutes and dig in--being careful not to burn yourself. Deliciously sweet and decadent (but obviously many years since I have made one LOL).
As a Wisconsinite I obviously would suggest squeaky cheese curds and deep fried cheese curds. Try by themselves, dipped in different sauces like ranch or marinara. The deep fried ones are also good with chili (kinda like chili cheese fries), and the squeaky ones are good in poutine. Some snack ideas (mostly ones that I enjoyed as a kid that are still around) : Gardettos, cheese spray with Ritz crackers, zebra cakes/cosmic brownies, bugals and funyuns (both to put on fingers/play with), pizza rolls, pickle wraps (cream cheese, pickle, and sandwich meat on a tortilla), gogurt, smile fruit snacks, those orange cheese cracker sandwiches with peanut butter, cheese sticks (pull apart), ants on a log (peanut butter in celery with raisins), oreos and milk, salt and vinegar chips Also, the part about smores that makes it great is that the marshmallow gets roasted over a fire and it gets a crispy texture and a smoky flavor.
Meatloaf or chicken fried steak w mashed potatoes n gravy... What about hamburgers and hotdogs, potato salad and Apple pie alamode... What about red vines and movie popcorn or junior mints. Grilled cheese and tomato soup or super sonic double cheeseburger and onion rings or waffles and fried chicken... Sounds DELICIOUS... Barb
Lucy Whitfield That's a crack up, not sure why I guessed these food to be only in the states. I hate it when I prove out loud I'm a dork. Lol, this was a fun video. TFS
Smores are definitely a camping or just make the kids happy feel good all American treat .. Sometimes if you visit your friend if they have a house full of kids one can suddenly say surprise I'm making smores.. And watch everyone's eyes light up with happiness... It falls in line with brownies
Hello Dollies aka 7 Layer cookies.1.) melted butter 2.) graham cracker crumbs 3.) coconut 4.) chocolate chips 5.) butterscotch chips 6.) pecans 7.) eagle brand cream poured over the top. Bake til it all melts together and top is just browned, let cool, cut into squares...Mmmmm😋
Beth Jones and RMC7181 JJ, I agree the only way to enjoy a Pop Tart is toasted unfrosted with butter. My favorite was the blueberry, unfortunately they stopped making unfrosted blueberry about 20 years ago, unfrosted strawberry isn't as good, but will do in a pinch. I never liked the frosted Pop Tarts they are way too sweet. It's a shame that the unfrosted lost out in popularity, originally they made all the flavors in both frosted and unfrosted, but because not enough people were buying the unfrosted they gradually stopped making the other unfrosted flavors.
S’mores were originated for camping trips. You have your meal and s’mores was dessert. Everyone sits around the camp fire and toast the marshmallows on a stick and then squishes the marshmallow between two graham crackers and a layer of a Hersey chocolate bar. It’s just not the same making and eating one in the house. I just came across your videos recently and I am really enjoying them very much.
Regarding pop tarts, they are commonly associated with a breakfast meal but never as a substitute for the entire meal. It’s almost always served along side other breakfast items. The only time we really eat a pop tart by itself is later in the evening when we want something fast and sweet. Also, pro tip. Sometimes eating a pop tart raw (I.e, not putting it in the toaster) IS a better option. I’m genuinely shocked she didn’t mention you could eat them raw.
I’ve never in my life eaten pop tarts heated up though. I feel like they should’ve tried the cinnamon brown sugar uncooked, and blueberry... those are the best flavors, definitely
Hana M You don't cook rice Krispies treats when you make them it's melted marshmallows with Rice Krispies stirred in, even better with peanut butter added and melted chocolate chips as a spread on frosting. Yum
rice krispey squares are made by melting butter, marshmallows and adding vanilla before mixing in the rice krispies and spreading it in a pan.....it's not baked. After it hardens, you are very welcome to put melted white chocolate over top before cutting into squares. mac and cheese does have dairy..ie, milk added to the dehydrated cheese as well as butter because it gives it a more whole milk silkiness. American Cheese is simply unaged Cheddar Cheese....still soft and young.
Actually the way you make rice Krispy treats is melt butter and marshmallow together in a pan and then on LOW heat add rice Krispy cereal.. stir and spread onto a cookie sheet and let it cool awhile and then enjoy... This is to inform Joel and Lia
When my family goes camping, we toast marshmallows, eat Smores and make mountain lies ( mountain pies are sandwiches that are placed in the coals of a campfire )
Pop tarts are most definitely considered a breakfast item but a lot of people just eat them as snacks anytime.
TXnine7nine I'll eat a Pop Tart cold as a snack, but I break off the edges because the dough is so dry and tasteless. I like the filet of Pop Tart!
In Canada I don't think it's as much of a breakfast thing. I never had them for breakfast lol, maybe in my school lunch but I mostly consider it a snack. I also don't eat them heated up lol, but I know some people do.
It's breakfast junk food...
Poptarts are the best. I dislike the knockoffs and I don't microwave them
Its the crazy good part of breakfast
Homemade rice crispy treats are better than the store bought ones. They are not baked. Just melted on the stove.
Counter Tenor hi. we had them in UK for ages. called Squares here though
Store baught rice crispy treats are gross 🤢 i never bothered making them into bars, i ate them right out of the bowl, sometimes slightly warm. They are my all time fave. Nobody cooks poptarts but then i always thought they tasted like cardboard and sugar, junk food that wasn't worth eating.
I love eating a big spoonful of the marshmallow/Rice Krispie mixture while it's still warm and gooey.
They do them here too
Soooo true

Like you wouldn't eat it!
First rule of thumb, don't try American "snacks" prepared by a vegan
😂😂😂
R E THANK YOU!
😂😂😂😂😂♥️♥️♥️♥️
R E Pk, thank you for explaining what I instinctively knew was wrong here.
YAAAAAAS!
The pre-made Rice Crispy treats you buy taste bad like they have a lot of chemicals in them. The ones you make out of butter, marshmallows and Rice Crispies only taste a lot better.
I made homemade Rice Krispies... They were good
Reed Barrow That’s so weird! I HATE homemade ones! And love the store ones! It’s weird, but I think it’s because I don’t like marshmallows.

Mac and cheese without real milk and butter is blasphemy!
Where did you find this American? Almond Milk and no butter in the Macaroni & Cheese? And people would hurt you for microwaving PopTarts 👊👊👊 or at least relentlessly question such unacceptable behavior 🤔
Winifred Sanderson LOL
I doubt she's American. Her total lack of knowledge on these foods gives her away.
Winifred Sanderson She sounds like she is vegan or veggie and very diet concious.
I’m guessing it was a toaster oven.
Blue Skyla...
Haha, no need to gush#😋
Can I just send you guys some American snacks, because what the hell was this 😂😂😂😂😂😂. She lost her American card after this video
LMAO!!
Quirt Manly and did she say with no butter?! So...what did she make?
Hope she never gets it back. In fact stay out of the USA
LMFAO 🤣 EXACTLY!
I'm just wondering why she thought butter needed to be in mac n' cheese. My mom never put butter in it.
No, no, no.
You have to have milk and butter in your Kraft Mac and Cheese.
You have to toast your Pop-Tarts in the toaster.
Concur. They are “pop” tarts because the pop up in the toaster.
Damn right!
Yeah! Just turn the toaster down. It's not that hard.
Jeremy Hidy I hate kraft mac and cheese gross cheese
Jeremy Hidy

No, no, no! You can't make Kraft Mac and Cheese with Almond milk and no butter - no WONDER they didn't snatch it from your hands and down it. BLAH!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I didn’t know she used Almond milk, I wondered how she dissolved the cheese
Look how skinny she is. Do you think she’s EVER eaten Mac and cheese or made Rice Krispie treats in her life !!!!!!
I am supposed to eat Mac and cheese with almond milk, cuz I'm allergic to lactose in normal milk.
They asked if Kraft was an important part of Kraft mac and cheese, and it isn't in America.

Is it weird that where I’m from no one warms up their pop tarts?😂
I believe that heating them is optional.
I don’t warm mine up either
Me neither nobody warms them up bc we eat them as snacks and we don’t have toasters all the time 😂
Im in KY. I eat them hot and cold.
@Lily Holt I typically eat them cold. My mom would throw them in my school lunches as a snack, and none of the schools that I went to had toasters or microwaves. So even when I have one of those two options available, I will eat them cold, because that is what I am used to :)
Noooooo it killed me that you forgot the butter and used almond milk in the Mac and cheese. 💀 They didn’t get to know how heavenly it really is.

Yes, I like lots of milk, make it soupy and use a spoon.
Perfect analysis---every thing prepared wrong. Also, sad to see Americans are so spoiled they buy prepackaged Rice Krispy treats.
The almond milk is fine. Some folks can't drink dairy. But butter and extra cheese is a must! Definitely no microwave food though.
Yes we Americans do eat pop tarts for breakfast or a snack and I don't know anyone who uses almond milk in there mac and cheese.
Jeffrey Winters I use almondmilk (unsweetened though) it's lower calorie and real milk messes with my stomach. though I add chipotle sauce to my mac and cheese
Jennifer Roberson that's different..not say I anything wrong with it I just never heard of using almond milk.most people use 1% or 2% milk in or mac.
I do, but only because I'm mildly lactose intolerant. :/
The almond milk will add a flavor most Americans won't like in their Mac and cheese. I prefer the Velveeta Mac and cheese for box kind.

U ruined mac and cheese
Completely. I cringed when I heard how she made it.
YEAH SERIOUSLY! Who the HELL does mac n cheese with fricking ALMOND MILK???!! Go FULL FAT or not at all!!!!
She ruined the Mac and Cheese AND the pop tarts. Who microwaves pop tarts?
Julian Magana Seriously! She's like the Mac n Cheese murderer! At least let them eat it the way it's SUPPOSED to be eaten!
miss mrc Right!? I eat my poptarts cold but if I was going to heat one up (eew) if there wasn't a toaster...I'd eat it cold.
Mac N Cheese without Butter? I nearly DIED!
She ruined everything she touched. They didn't get the real experience
🤣
Agreed. It's like she deliberately presented the worst version of "typical" American snacks. Not at all the real experience. What a shame and a waste of Joel & Lia's time.
That was my thoughts also. Not to be disrespectful or hurtful to her, but every dish was presented poorly.
Well we all make mistakes😆
Mmhmm
She said too much
She messed up almost everything!
S Lee totally. I seriously didn’t think it was possible to screw up things this simple. She should make her own vid is on how to cook. It would be comedy classic watching her boil water.
She is going around liking all of the bad comments about her lol. Wtf
@@PFGNW She doesn't care what haters say. love your haters anyways...
To anyone going to America and want to try the food, try these:
- BBQ (Anywhere. Midwest, Texas, or Carolina preferred). Try burnt ends if you can find them, also pulled pork or ribs.
- Fish Tacos, (west coast). Legit ones are fried fish with cabbage and some bomb sauce on corn tortillas
- Lobster Rolls, crab cake, clam choweder (New england/East coast)
- Philly cheese steak (anywhere)
- Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad (anywhere)
- Biscuits & Gravy (anywhere, but south preferred). If the gravy grosses you out, try a hot buttermilk biscuit on its own with some butter.
- Non-Kraft Mac & Cheese, Shrimp & Grits, Cornbread, chicken pot pie (south preferred)
- Burgers - hit or miss with burgers, try a few out. Don't be scared of the local hole in the wall places for a great burger.
- Americanized Mexican Food (Southern west coast only) - Try enchiladas, carne asada burrito, tacos, flautas, taquito's - all with guacamole of course
- Also try the American style of non-American classics like Gyro's, Pizza, Fish & Chips, etc
- Snacks & candy: Sour punch straws, nerds rope, Butterfinger, Rice Krispies treats, twinkies, Reeses pb cups, starburst, Funyuns, Cheetos, Flamin hot Cheetos, Lays Salt & Vinegar chips, All sorts of Doritos, nachos from a 7-11 or a sporting event, Fun Dip,
Alyson Lloyd - No, hole in the wall taco shops in America, even in southern California, sell Americanized Mexican food. Literally every "burrito" is "Americanized" since a burrito isn't a Mexican food item. Taco Bell doesn't even count on the Mexican food spectrum in my world.
I ❤ Texas BBQ, especially Hutchins in McKinney.
Just thought I would throw in
Crawfish etouffee (Louisiana)
Or gumbo in Louisiana
Or Tex Mex 'mexican' anywhere in the south or south eastern U.S.
Boudin in Louisiana
You definitely hit some great suggestions! I agree! (Also a suggestion with the biscuits...if you don't like the gravy try with butter and HONEY..so good! Idk where it's from but I learned it from my dad whos from New Jersey)
Also, speaking as a Wisconsinite, they have to try squeaky cheese curds and deep fried cheese curds
FYI.... Rice Krispies Treats also has butter in them and and there is NO baking required, and How could you ruin the macaroni & Cheese like that!? Almond milk and you forgot the butter, have you never made it before, do you not know how to read the instructions on the box? you set the toaster on the light toast setting for pop tarts, the smores look like you put those it the microwave also in order to melt the marshmallow .... and the way you were explaining these snacks it sounded like you just learned about them yourself.....I'm sorry but if you REALLY are from the states then you have been gone too long and have forgotten how thing are done here
😂😂😂
True the marshmallows and melted with butter and rice Krispies and spread in a plan and left in the refrigerator over night.
triggered
Little Debbie Swiss rolls, Krispy Cream doughnuts, Sweet Sixteen powdered doughnuts, Lays BBQ potato chips, Vanilla wAfers, cheese balls, potato salad
And nutty bars and nutter butters. I like the idea of potato salad. They could try other sides like coleslaw
Oreos, cheez-its, doritos
I'm from America, and pop tarts in general are considered a breakfast item, but not a complete, or proper breakfast. It was always an acceptable alternative when you do not have time for a good breakfast. Now as the crust on pop tarts goes, I think the word you are looking for is pie crust, it's a pie crust filled with jelly and covered in frosting and sprinkles. Not so much as a pastry.
we already have them over here and have had for years lol we eat em for breakfast too
We've had pop tarts in the UK for at least 30 years I'd imagine - you can get them in any supermarket. How can they never have had them?
More like a gross store bought cookie.
hippie parents-only ate these college.
It is so funny because in my house pop tarts were never for breakfast. We had them for dessert
almond milk and no butter NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
CrackerJack, Cotton Candy, Fluffernutter Sandwich, Red Candy Apple, Corndogs, FunnelCake, IceCream Sandwich, SnowCone, Chocolate Covered Cranberries...
Great suggestions! The chocolate covered fruit reminds me of a holiday favorite: Queen Ann's cordial cherries
@@jannasaiia9940 I always like the Queen Anne's blueberry ones. They are hard to find though.
They had the wrong person doing this. Forgot the butter, didn’t use regular milk in the Mac & cheese didn’t know you don’t bake Rice Krispies treats. Geez!!
PurpleHaze929 and microwaved pop tarts. They just get all soggy then instead of crispy.
Actually, its' fine without regular milk. Just replace with an equal amount of butter. You'll thank me later.
Kenneth Miller I do the same thing. No milk, lots of butter 😋
She lied she's Canadien!!! hahaahhha
You microwaved PopTarts... I must despise you now 😢
Winifred Sanderson- I agree- that is just so wrong! But the toaster accident with the Pop_Tart was classic! There's even a warning on the label that that can happen!
Toaster
Pop tarts are supposed to be used for a toaster hence the pop lmao🤣
How can she be presenting these American treats if she doesn't even know how they are made?! She totally botched the Mac-n-Cheese. There is actual milk in it. If you read the instructions you add milk, butter and the powder packet and mix. You don't bake rice crispy treats. She microwaved(eww) the poptarts because she's incable of using a freakin toaster. AND she didn't even bother to toast the mallows over an open fire.... Ugh... this was hard to watch.
She's in a house... How in the world is she supposed to roast a marshmallow over an open fire? Use some critical thinking.
Mar Pen1980 I wasn't being serious. LOL
Mar Pen1980 I do it on the stove
Mar Pen1980 Well. I have a gas burner so my stove has open fire. Lol
NoONE you do bake rice crispy treats....
S'mores are best when you can roast the marshmallow on the end of a stick over a camp fire (reference the movie Sandlot)
Everyone has their own preference on the proper way to roast a marshmallow.
(funny guy)
I prefer to rotisserie my marshmallow to perfectly even golden brown and instead of a Hershey's bar I will use a reese's peanut butter cup.
But the whole point is the campfire and family time.
They should try corn dogs
With mustard! And they should be deep fried rather than microwaved
Is the dog killed first?
HOMEMADE Corndogs!
putting white chocolate in a Rice Krispy Square sounds like a brilliant idea
I am American and you guys said try but famous deep fried Oreo
Aanta Smith aka deep fried diabetes
Hahahaha
Il xAimbott hahahaha
fried twinkies are good I am told
@@lizzygraham748 Uh-huh. You wouldn't mention them, if you didn't eat them, Lizzy.
I'm from Dallas, Texas and I think that they should try Moon pies and sweet ice tea. And maybe some Blue Bell ice cream.
77dpanthers yes yes and yes! Peach cobbler too!
I love moon pies and I'm from wv. My favorite is the banana.
I completely agree! Southern food is AMAZING
Bluebell is where it's at!!!!
I thought the south liked moon pies with R.C. cola.
That was a fun video. Almond milk totally changes the taste of the mac and cheese though. To me Easy Mac is the quintessential broke American college kid food.
Nah dude Ramen noodles there cheap and easy to make (some people eat them dry with just powder dumped on)
nah ramen is the cliche super broke college food. Mac is def more common because it cheap but not dirt poor cheap. Most college kids are "broke" in terms of you aint eating steak and pasta every dinner you're eating box mac n' cheese or some other under 3-5 dollar meal .
K.J.M.K. I guess its really just what you prefer
Trip Hacks DC, wrong. It's ramen noodles (even though they're uber-unhealthy for you)!
I guess it depends on where one grows up. Where I come from, macaroni & cheese is a "grandma's Sunday dinner item (oven baked and casserole-y", so neon orange powder in a box meant that you're broke AND your parents couldn't cook.
Puppy chow, Chex cereal with melted chocolate and covers in powdered sugar
Omg I've had that before. It is SOooOoOo good!!!
Mindy Cope you mean mud buddies
Depending on the place it's either puppy chow or muddy buddies.
You forgot a ton of peanut butter. 😋
Eat Doritos yassssss
sab At least she can't ruin all these items! She's probably the type though that she'd find a way.
All you need is... Cheetos.
damn right..
sab replace that Twinkie with a Gansito
We eat pop tarts for breakfast or a snack! I do not heat mine though. I don’t actually know anyone who does. It says to on the box. That’s more of a toaster strudel thing. We love camping and we love s’mores! Can I have s’more s’mores?Funny there is actually a s’mores flavored pop tart!!
Caelan Jolley
They are so good!
That's maybe why I burned them to a crisp LOL... and yes, ALWAYS MORE SMORES
I was coming to say this. no one i know heats pop tarts, only toaster strudel! pop tarts are perfect cold
ThatLazyWitch
Exactly!! I don’t know anyone who heats them either. Although in the commercial the lizard tells the pop tart to hide in the toaster so he can get away from people trying to eat him. Then the lizard ate him. Maybe that was the intention of pop tarts but it never caught on!
Yeah I never heated them either! My favorite were always the brown sugar and cinnamon ones. Gosh, what a healthy breakfast. 😂
Lia! If you tried camping with your friends, in the woods, by a fire, roasting your marshmellows and making your own S'More........ you would LOVE it! Friends, roasting, woods, camping ALL make a S'More AMAZING!!!
Poptarts are totally breakfast but also snacks. My favorite is the brown sugar cinnamon
Ko Ga Same!! I love to eat them toasted with a glass of milk!
Maddie Hail Have you tried them with Nutella??! BANGIN'!
Nope, but it sounds delicious! thanks for the tip!
Ko Ga yes! Tbh I love anyones that are brown sugar, cinnamon, or chocolate
They are technically “toaster pastries”
I was adult before I ate them toasted. You can eat them right off of the package.
3:20 - American People Try British Fire Departments
It got very close to that LOL
g40rc378 lol
LOL
g40rc378 😂😂😂😂
Americans do love chips and salsa/guac/7-layer dip, even though they're technically Mexican. Wonder how Brits would react to doughnuts as opposed to scones or crumpets.
Or English Muffins vs. Crumpets. My Aunt found Crumpets at Safeway Super Market and bought some. I tried one for the first time. They look like English Muffins in appearance but spungy in texture like a fluffy pancake.
As far as I know, some people do Pop-Tarts as breakfast. However, they're really more of a junk food.
Pre-made Rice Krispie treats are VILE. They need to try actual home made Toll House cookies.
@Hugh Hemington ??? There's nothing wrong with the pre-made RK Treats. The only time I've ever had an issue with them is if they are stale, but that is why you need to pay attention to the package! I agree that they are better if you make them at home, but the treats you buy at a store are hardly vile.
What's Toll House?
Yes pre made ones are way to sweet.....if They want rice crispy treats make them homemade
This is seriously the most triggering video I’ve ever watched. I’m literally shaking right now.
Try some Twinkies!! Doritos, Reeses peanut butter cup, Velveeta cheese mixed with rotel, Cheetos, Oreos, lucky charms, snickers, Butterfinger, peeps,
I almost brought back Twinkies! Next time
I love the rotel and Velveeta!!!!!!
Treasa Evans you got good taste girl. It's a staple!
Diana Sarg
Yes everyone’s diet should consist of Velveeta chip dip!! 👍😁
Ozpoz :) good to know
Hundreds and thousands?? I have never heard that. Enjoyed this as an American!
Joe and Lia they are a parent's saving grace for a hurried morning when you're running late. Kids still leave the house with something in their stomaches.
You need to try Doritos and try fruit rolls ups and Krispy kreme doughnuts . Peanut butter captain crunch creal.
megan shane I agree with all of it but the krispy kremes idk just too sweet for me
How to make homemade Rice Crispy treats:
1. Add a box of Rice Crispies, marshmallows, and butter/peanut butter to a pot
2. Slowly stir over low heat until the marshmallows and butter/peanut butter melts and covers the Rice Crispies (should look like a sticky ball)
3. Scoop out into a (usually rectangular) pan and spread (roughly evenly) with a spoon, paying particular attention to any edges
4. Cut a piece and enjoy (fresh Rice Crispy treats are the best, and they harden as they cool to room temperature)
Try peanut butter and jelly on white bread!! Nacho Cheese Doritoes!!!
In America, pop tarts are placed in the grocery store beside cereal, so it is marketed as a breakfast item.
How do you burn a pop tart?
I still ask myself this every day since we filmed
Manilla Tasty I'm wondering the same. Were they cooked in an oven set at 500??
Toaster for like 3 minutes , boom.
cmjax02 if even that long
I've done it, usually when I was stoned and had the munchies and forgot them in the toaster oven.
Love and London 🤣
Girl Scout Cookies!
Note RE: Girl Scout cookies-do *not* try their gluten free ones-they are awful..
Joel & Lea have a video where they try Girl Scout cookies on their channel
Ok, a follow-up should definitely be made. On part 2: Twinkies, cheap package Ramen, Grilled cheese sandwich (with American cheese), and finally; OUR version of/what we call “pudding”
You don't have to heat up the poptart, you can just eat it as is!
Also there is loads of different flavors of Poptarts!
Pop tarts are for anytime
brandon holland Right out of the box, too!
I come from Wisconsin, home of "Superior" people, and cheese!!!
Most people eat the poptarts without heating them up.
Joseph White Speak for yourself! Never have I ever. What's the point of a cold Pop-Tart?
i eat them cold
Joseph White I'd say its about half n half...
Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, lightly toasted.
Boat Lover we have chocolate chips cookies, brownies and cheesits but we call them wotsits lol
We have brownies cookies barbecues grilled cheese but we call it cheese toasties and we have more but i cant remember what you wrote lmao.
...They're not on a different planet...
Sophie Filo
Ikr lmao
There is nothing better than Thanksgiving meal, country style"
As a Wisconsinite I obviously would suggest squeaky cheese curds and deep fried cheese curds. Try by themselves, dipped in different sauces like ranch or marinara. The deep fried ones are also good with chili (kinda like chili cheese fries), and the squeaky ones are good in poutine.
Some snack ideas (mostly ones that I enjoyed as a kid that are still around) : Gardettos, cheese spray with Ritz crackers, zebra cakes/cosmic brownies, bugals and funyuns (both to put on fingers/play with), pizza rolls, pickle wraps (cream cheese, pickle, and sandwich meat on a tortilla), gogurt, smile fruit snacks, those orange cheese cracker sandwiches with peanut butter, cheese sticks (pull apart), ants on a log (peanut butter in celery with raisins), oreos and milk, salt and vinegar chips
Also, the part about smores that makes it great is that the marshmallow gets roasted over a fire and it gets a crispy texture and a smoky flavor.
Barb
Chicka D we eat mashed potato and gravy in UK and hamburgers, hotdogs, cheeseburgers, popcorn - most of it lol
Lucy Whitfield That's a crack up, not sure why I guessed these food to be only in the states. I hate it when I prove out loud I'm a dork. Lol, this was a fun video. TFS
Yes. Grilled cheese sandwich (on WHITE or Sourdough) with tomato soup!! I'm getting hungry now!! :-)
They'd love my macaroni salad.
Chicka D dammit, now I’m hungry...
American cereal. Like Captain Crunch, cinnamon toast, French toast, and tricks.
I eat my Pop-Tarts cold. I used to heat them up but not anymore.
Hahaha,She called it Montgomery Cheese.😂😂😂
Joel, when he really likes something, his little face is a happy picture.
Us college students love craft macncheese becuase its all we can afford.... :(
And top ramen....
Oreos.
Smores are definitely a camping or just make the kids happy feel good all American treat .. Sometimes if you visit your friend if they have a house full of kids one can suddenly say surprise I'm making smores.. And watch everyone's eyes light up with happiness... It falls in line with brownies
Haha yes the poptarts are a ‘breakfast’ food but I personally was never allowed to eat them for breakfast growing up
me too!
Laurel George same! My mom would’ve had a heartattack, I had them more when I came home from school as a snack
Same!
Hello Dollies aka 7 Layer cookies.1.) melted butter 2.) graham cracker crumbs 3.) coconut 4.) chocolate chips 5.) butterscotch chips 6.) pecans 7.) eagle brand cream poured over the top. Bake til it all melts together and top is just browned, let cool, cut into squares...Mmmmm😋
Lol I love the way your friend says “American”.
cait cardenas Is she getting a British accent? It sounds like it, or something.
I put real butter on my toasted pop tart unfrosted
Beth Jones I thought me and my sisters only ever did that! Lol I cant eat one without butter.
Terrie Martinez, thanks you are right, they still make unfrosted blueberry, my local grocery just doesn't stock them.
Beth Jones that sounds interesting...mmm
My mom used to make us “sorta” s’mores for an after school snack, but she would put peanut butter on them. So. Freakin. Good.
I just came across your videos recently and I am really enjoying them very much.
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
Regarding pop tarts, they are commonly associated with a breakfast meal but never as a substitute for the entire meal. It’s almost always served along side other breakfast items. The only time we really eat a pop tart by itself is later in the evening when we want something fast and sweet.
Also, pro tip. Sometimes eating a pop tart raw (I.e, not putting it in the toaster) IS a better option. I’m genuinely shocked she didn’t mention you could eat them raw.
Oh my gosh burnt pop tarts 🙄😆
So you microwave it? Is a toaster just too difficult for you?🙄
Strawberry Pop Tart fire hazard-Dave Barry.
I’ve never in my life eaten pop tarts heated up though. I feel like they should’ve tried the cinnamon brown sugar uncooked, and blueberry... those are the best flavors, definitely
Poptarts are pastries and they are still breakfast items.
0:18 Rice krispie treats
1:08 kraft mac and cheese
4:15 pop tarts
6:40 smores
They haven't had rice krispies treats? I think they are called squares here. I cannot believe it they are missing out so much.
Pop tarts are basically a snack
We rarely eat pop tarts as an actual breakfast. It’s more of a snack. We rarely keep them in our house. It’s a special treat for the kids.
British people should definitely try Little Debbie cakes ( like Twinkies or Swiss cake rolls), Cheetos/ Doritos, or Chips A’hoy/ Oreos
Little Debbie Snack cakes RULE !!
Good old Big Deborah and her Little Diabetes snack cakes! Yummy! I love me an oatmeal creme pie!
L.A. Smittie "Big Deborah" LOL , and yes, that oatmeal creampie was the business! I loved those when I was a child.
Christopher Dieudonne I still dig them! And oddly enough I still try pull them apart as if they were Oreos, with no success! Lol!
L.A. Smittie haha. That's funny :)
Actually the way you make rice Krispy treats is melt butter and marshmallow together in a pan and then on LOW heat add rice Krispy cereal.. stir and spread onto a cookie sheet and let it cool awhile and then enjoy...
This is to inform Joel and Lia
Frito Chili Pie
Poptarts are stocked in the breakfast aisle in the grocery store.
We sometimes mixed peanut butter in the rice crispies treats, might just be a southern thing.
I grew up in Ohio and we put peanut butter in rice crispie treats also.
Rice Krispy treats are just melted marshmallow and butter mixed with the cereal, then just let it set in the fridge.
Pizza bites
Okay Joel and Lia melt butter, stir in marshmallows and, then pour Rice Krispies in until you get a pretty thick consistency. They are so yummy!
Twinkies! (I can't stand them, but they're a classic)
When my family goes camping, we toast marshmallows, eat Smores and make mountain lies
( mountain pies are sandwiches that are placed in the coals of a campfire )
Yes - Pop Tarts are still considered a breakfast food. I personally preferred the unfrosted Pop Tarts.
Jack Stachowicz yeah, frosted is too sweet and gives me a headache
I cringed when you tried that mac n cheese, lol
Welch’s fruit snacks
