ABOUT ME:
My name is Shelly and I’m a 43-year-old web geek that jumped off the deep end into the makeup and beauty world. I’ve got dry skin, fine lines starting to form, and some sun spots that I desperately wish to get rid of or cover up! Cameo appearances by my rescue cats Daffy, Polly, Ziva, and Merlin.
I purchased all products used in this video. All opinions are honest and my own. Some links are affiliate links and may earn me points or discounts at no cost to you. I appreciate your support of my channel!

I actually really liked this for my dry, maturing skin. Definitely a natural look, but I always get compliments on my skin when I use it!
Same. ❤️
Your skin looks way better with this than it usually does. Very natural and seamless. Surprised you weren’t a fan. It is a TINT so you obviously won’t get serious coverage. Great for those who hate most foundations and prefer a bb/cc cream.
I actually really like this one. It's light coverage and not buildable so I like it for days when I just need to even out my skin tone.
I have just bought this from the US on ebay. I'm in the UK. I actually love it on my 53 year old skin. Radiant but not greasy. Doesn't sit in my many lines. A good setting spray helps with it's staying power.
It's crazy how foundations work terribly on one person & beautifully on another. I love this foundation. I only apply with my fingers though. I get better coverage that way. It does feel a little heavy but it's a great everyday foundation for me!
Body chemistry is a fascinating thing! I'm glad it works for you! :-D
I'll agree that the hydroboost tint does disappear from my nose, but I take blame because I wipe/blow my nose constantly throughout the day. Other than that, I adore this foundation. It's the ONLY foundation that I've found that doesn't cause my dryness to become more noticeable. I used to just opt for no foundation instead.
Thank for taking one fo the team! Definitely worthy the D- Totally agree about the H-acid comment. Can be drying w/o enough water to cling to. Hope you had an Amazing Day today... Happy Birthday!!
I've been experimenting the last few days. So far I've tried no primer and primer. Seems to work better without. Blends horrible with my sponge. Tomorrow I'm going to try just my fingers. I hope it works out better because I actually do love how it sets on me. It doesn't cling or make my pores look gross by the end of the day.
Sounds like you really love this one!!! 😂😂😂 I’ve always wanted to try this, guess not now! Great review ! 💕
😂😂😂I've always been one of those people where my mom says, "Tell us how you REALLY feel!" (sarcastically of course) :-D
Now it all makes sense why it did not work for you ---because this tinted moisturizer basically is supposed to be very good for people with normal to dry skin even those over 40..
You chose a heavy silicone primer--one with a few different silicones in it. But for the HA in the "makeup formula", you needed to wear a primer which lists the first ingredient as water & more water, but yours was all silicones so of course there was nothing for the hyaluronic acid 2 cling to and remain moist on the surface of your skin. You had a barrier when you could have provided a better one with a wet water-based primer. (It wouldn't have looked wet probably but not so dry either)
Edit: oy vey, and then you added powder.
I know you wrote this 4 yrs ago but i al SO glad to see your comment! Im 43, normal to dry (more on the drier end on my cheeks and forehead) and was so sad to hear her review. I am not a big makeup wearer but I just wanted something to give me a bit of a boost and maybe tone down my redness. I saw this product at my walgreens and found the PERFECT shade match but never got it. And i was gonna not get it because of her review but it looks like she didnt use it correctly (or didnt use the right products beforehand) so my faith is restored again lol!
Do know good non silicone primer?
Yes!!! Foundation Friday! I had the exact same issues as you did when I tried this "foundation". I'd give it a big fat "F"! Your students must love your grading leniency! Lol! I gotta check out that Lorac lipstick! I always say it...you look great in pinks!! Thanks for the review, Shelly! Have a great wkend!
😂It's really got to be in the basement with zero redeeming qualities to get an F. If I am embarrassed wearing outside the house.... F. :-D Yeah I'm always looking for reasons to give the benefit of the doubt!
OMG I almost bought this yesterday, so glad I did not! Thanks for your review.
Thank you for sharing the tidbit about hyaluronic acid. I don’t think most knew. I always appreciate how helpful your videos are. ☺️
Thanks, Amber! All of the advertising hype around it has been bugging me, and this was a great example of how NOT to do HA!
I originally thought I really liked this, but then I met foundations I like better. I don't wear it alone anymore. I mix this with the Too faced peach foundation to minimize the matte effect a bit or mix it with tinted moisturizer to add some coverage. Also, I only apply with a brush and smooth out with a sponge, and I use a smoothing primer (MUFE). It's not drying on me, but I also start off super-hydrated skin because of my skincare regime.
I haven't tried mixing it but I do love the TF Peach so I will try that combo! Thanks, Sarah!
I saw this on sale at a discount store and had it in my basket. I looked up your video real quick. I saw that it didn't work for you. So back on the shelf it went! Thanks for saving me 💰. 👊😌
Anytime! :-D
Thanks for the explanation on hyalauronic acid and moisture! Love geeky knowledge! Love your videos!
Thanks, JM! I knew there had to be others out there that liked to know the geeky little tidbits! :-D
Hey Girl! I was going to buy this! Thanks for the review and saving us the $$. xoxo
I'd make sure to get it somewhere you can return it, if you do buy it, Marlene! It was pretty un-likable :)
Shelly, I trust you and your reviews! I'm not buying it after watching your video and seeing those close-ups! I know you have dry skin, and I have normal, but I have other foundations that I love. I'm not taking the chance on it.
I liked it for a quick foundation in the summer. Felt really good.
People tell me it is hydrating and also I don't need a lot of coverage I need the hydration and a little bit of a tint..Not being a youngster anymore I need something with thinnish coverage so it doesn't glob up and accentuate every little line😨☺
Thank you for the review. I had considered trying this foundation. You know it's bad when your lovely eye and blush looks can't distract from what the foundation is doing.
Yeah a good foundation goes unnoticed! This one was all I could see every time I looked in a mirror...
I've always been interested in this foundation, because of the hyaluronic acid. Wow...I did not know anything about the information you shared....thank you so much. I am really loving this channel, you are so informative. I really enjoy how honest you are, and how you really let us see how products are sitting on your skin. See you in the next one!
Thanks, Patricia! That's where the geek in me comes in :) I love the little details behind the ingredients. While I'm sure some of us live our lives on Instagram with gorgeous filters, most of my time is spent out in the world with my face looking just as it looks! So might as well show it just as it looks! :-D That's where I care about it.
I absolutely love your foundation reviews especially the closeups. I have texture and visible pores so I’m staying away from this foundation. Love your eyeshadow look. A tutorial in the future?
I will have to try to recreate it with another palette or do a throwback palette video since this palette isn't available anymore (except on eBay).
I always appreciate how detailed you are in your videos. It’s not horrible after 5 hours. But after nine hours it held up well on camera. But I appreciate that you gave us a close up too. You did an excellent job on this video. I always enjoy your energy. Have a great and productive weekend. Aloha 🌺...Ranlaynn
Thanks, Ranalynn!! Super busy weekend here - hope yours is great in Hawaii!
I'm glad I didn't buy that recently. That would have been a total waste of money for me. Thank goodness that you have pretty great looking skin, and only needed the coverage that it gave, because at a conversational distance, your skin looked great, and I didn't notice all the things you were seeing. Thanks Shelly!
Yep that's one of the sort of invisible lines between an F and a D... if most of the problems are only visible close-up, I'll let it squeak by.
Life is weird- I like this foundation, it's my everyday light coverage makeup
Body chemistry plays SUCH a huge role in how a foundation performs on one person to the next that even if we had identical skin types, it could be totally different between the two of us! I'm glad it's working well for you!
Geek Out of Water I am a lot more wrinkly than you- if I wear full coverage it looks pretty bad, I would replace this foundation with a great bb or cc cream I will look through your other videos, thanks! What I mean is it's not the makeup of my dreams, I am still looking.
you're pre-foundation skin looks so good and glowy!! :-)
Thanks! My skin is really happy right now (knock on wood!!!!) :-D I'll have an updated skin care video coming as summer kicks in, early June.
Right she doesn't really even need Foundation just Moisturizer and a tiny bit of blush
Love all your reviews and we seem to have similar experiences/ opinions on foundations !!
Thanks, Graciela!
i wish i would have seen this video before i bought it! Got it yesterday and it did the same thing on my skin as yours! Got it as CVS and am taking it back !
CVS is great with returns, at least! :-D
Hey Murr meow, thank you for your reviews so we know what to spend our coin on and what not to.🌷🐱
I freakin love the Maybelline Rose Gold highlighter! I use it a lot! (Probably way too much) bit it's so beautiful
I'm practically bathing in it today.
Well poop. I'm always looking for new foundations for dry skin. Least now I know I can skip this one. Thank you very much!!!
I'm usually a fan of Neutrogena products, but I'll be staying far away from this one now. This looks like what the Flower Beauty one did to me, settling into lines, and nothing left at the end of the day but weird patches. But I'm loving the Lancome Renergie you reviewed the other week! I finally splurged on a high-end foundation to treat myself, and it was worth it! Though frustrating we only get half the number of shades in Canada.
Hey Jennifer! When I get my next Ulta coupon I'm buying the Renergie in my non-tanned shade because I love it (and I'm pale again lol). That's a bummer on the Canadian shade range since there weren't a ton of shades to begin with!
Oh I loved this reveiw...you really do such a great job....I laughed at loud when you said " It's not the worst thing I have ever worn"....you looked so sad! I gave this a C but I had to use the color corrector palette and a ton of concealer.....it's like no coverage but it clogs your pores....a very bad boyfriend! Great job!!!!
Oh man, good to know about the pore clogging. My skin tolerates a lot of gunk and thankfully doesn't break out often but come to think of it, I did have a random breakout starting on my cheek (such a weird place) the 2 days after I wore this the 2nd time (I tried it 2 days in a row). Thank goodness it went away before it got going.
I had the same experience with this and took it back. I totally agree with your rating.
"It's wonderfully...okay" :) This foundation isn't for me, either, but I might need to pick up that highlighter!
Lori Roemer both the gold and rose are fantastic. I have no idea about the white one. It looks like it is chunky with glitter so I didn't get it
When is your new skincare video going up Shelly? I know you prob want to try some of your products for a while before offering an informed opinion Im just excited for it!!! :)
OHH BTW I am LOVING the Wet n Wild cushion foundation, its surprisingly amazing for sure
It will be one that I film right before I leave for IRE (so filmed probably end of May to go up in June) so that way I'll have a solid 4-5 weeks with everything. I tried the Tarte Knockout night before last for the first time. It did not burn and my skin felt smooth as a baby's bottom the next day :-D I didn't realize it's a leave-on acid. I was thinking it was like a mask.
Oh my gee, I love my Chrome Gold, I need the rose color!
I can't stop using it! It's the perfect shade and it blends in so pretty!
I love when you do the swatches. Especially this time cause they were all so light, except Neutrogena😵
I am sure in the past you have reviewed this foundation, but if not; you should try Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation. I have tried so many foundations and this is my all time favorite! Cats are so fun!!
The cats always steal the show :) Vibrancy was one of the first foundations I reviewed, but I've never been able to get it to work on me. I kept it because the bottle is gorgeous, and sometimes I use it as a mixer to lighten foundations. But on its own it just clings to all of my texture and dry patches. :(
This was the one I bought and was soo excited for the release I got the deal of getting 2 BOGO- YAY me! I have used it twice (the second time to confirm how bad it was) and it takes up valuable real estate in my foundation drawer. I hate to throw stuff away and I wish I knew someone who would love it. It's not a great mixer either. .
Oy I haven't tried mixing it yet but I did wear it twice just to make sure it was a dud on me, and... yep dud. My niece and cousins are the beneficiaries of all of the makeup I don't like :)
I am so glad I didn't get this, I almost bought it at Wal-Mart last night but I wanted a new mascara more lol. Now I'm so glad I chose a mascara instead xoxo
Great call on the mascara!! :-D
I had the same experience! I passed mine on to my 20yo cousin and she likes it.
That's where mine is going! To my younger cousins :-D
Thank you for the review. I was wondering about this one. Now I know to avoid it.
You might have already guessed... I love the eyeshadow! I am so tired of tutorials & looks with deep reddish, brick type shades. I can't get past the allergies or smacked in the face type of overdone looks. Also I tried the tighteye serum, I love it!!! Great recommendation. I have been curious about the Strivectin line blurfector, I ordered it today (they are having a 20% special currently & I used ebates of 7.5% cash back, so I got a pretty good deal I think)
I have a request for foundation review, Vichy Dermafinish, or something in their line. I'm just curious.
Oooh I've been curious about Vichy! (Can you tell that I just use all of your guys' comments to enable my addiction)? :-D It's research!!! ha! I will add them to my list! I'm glad you're enjoying Tight Eye - I love ebates and that's a great deal. I might have to order a backup. I can't tell how close to empty I am. I am going to weigh my next new bottle and weigh my empty bottle when it is empty so I know how far away from empty I am next time :)
This one oxidized on me I looked like an orange, lol. In case you didn't know, Macys is having a 15% off beauty sale until May 6th - if you didn't haul enough, Haha. I've figured out that things like Nars Gobi and Siberia where I need to be color wise, not formula wise 😂 so I'm going to look at Shiseido and Clarins. I am loving the colorpop palette from our Boxycharm!
I've been thinking I need more Colour Pop eyeshadows in my life after that one from Boxy! I don't want to spoil too much for next week but the Shiseido is worth checking out :) I love Clarins skin care but haven't tried their foundation.
Your skin before your makeup is so pretty!!! I’m still wanting to try halo. Are you loving it? How’s the rest of your skin on your body?
Thanks, Elly! I'm still enjoying Halo! I noticed about a week ago (so, about 6 weeks in) that I was "forgetting" my nightly full-body lotion, because my arms and legs just weren't dry. They usually look scaly with dry flakes but that is gone. My knees and elbows are still a little dry but the improvement is drastic and I love it. This is all while I've been eating like crap and drinking a ton of caffeine instead of water (end of semester insanity) - so I'm very likely dehydrated overall.
Wow that is AMAZING! I might have to make the investment!
Happy Birthday Mer!!!!!!
Damaris Rodriguez it’s his birthday how did I miss that?
MzClementine Lol. She didn’t mention it on the video. I saw it on Instagram this morning.
Damaris Rodriguez that’s how!!! Hahaha! I literally re watched the video and was like, man she is a good psychic 🤔😏
MzClementine Hahahahaha!
My skin is lighter than yours and with your initial thoughts, I decided this foundation is not for me. Thanks! On to the next one!
Yep there's always another to try :-D
Thank you for this! I was hoping to pick this up tom-today. I shan't waste my money now! 😗L
Oh yeah so many better ones at the drugstore! Have you tried the Physician's Formula yet? I had some oxidation issues with my sunscreen underneath it, but it's a very pretty finish and there are usually great coupons/deals for PF.
I have not! Perhaps I should try that one out. Thank you!
Great review as always, as for the product... at least it didn’t oxidize (on the if you can’t say anything nice front)
LOL very true! No oxidation! I think this formula will probably work for some people... just not me. That's kind of where I draw the F to D line. If I think the entire formula is just bad, it goes in the F bin. If I think it's just my skin or my body chemistry, but still can't recommend it, it's in the D bin.
Hi!. Value your opinions SO MUCH!
Can you please recommend a foundation that is smoothing and blurring on dry mature skin.?
Drugstore and/or high end?
Please and thank you!XOXO
Hi Lisa! My top 2 would probably be MAC Mineralize and Cover FX Natural Finish. If you go to my foundation list and in the search box at the top right of the table type "hydrating smooth" you'll see all of the ones that I've reviewed that are hydrating or slightly hydrating, and smooth or slightly smooth (smooth refers to texture in my sheet). You could also use the word "blur" (which I use to refer to pores). geekoutofwater.com/foundation-fest/
I have this sitting in my drawer.... now I know why!!
Psychic!! :-D
I'm a bit paler than you, about an nc10, but wow how do you rock that pink eyeshadow? Whenever I try a pink eyeshadow, I swear it makes my eyelids look like they are tired or I'm having an allergy attack. Lol
I never ever wore pink eyeshadow until a couple years ago when I had pink hair, and ever since I love pinks! I go for the more cool-toned pinks (warm ones that lean toward the orange-red do the same thing on me, making me look like my eyes are irritated and I'm sick lol). My skin tone is basically neutral with very slight pink/cool undertones - so I don't know if that's why I can pull off the cool toned pinks. Maybe try going with your undertone - if you're warm undertone, try some warm-based pinks and if you're cool, try cool-based pinks and see if they look any different. My favorite pinks are in the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette - though Modern Renaissance reds/pink work well on me too as long as I go with the cool toned vermeer and not the warm toned satin/shimmer for the lid.
Geek Out of Water - Ah, now that makes sense. It never occurred to me to think about the tone when using pink eyeshadow. Thank you so much for the advice!! I'm going to try that that!! :-) I'm excited now! Lol
I totally agree with Shelly - go with your undertone. I love pinky shadows - but only the cool blue-based pinks. The warmer salmony or peachy/coral pinks look just yuk on me - same goes with blush (at least for me).
Wahoo!!! I’m excited for this one!! Your review was AWESOME!! Same thing happened to me!!! So disappointing!!
It's such a bummer because so few things are targeted to dry skin and when they are STILL drying... arg. womp womp
Geek Out of Water Right!!! I’m planning on trying Urban Decay Naked Skin. I love that u can get samples from Sephora and Ulta 😊
Well that was a bit of a bugger (double bugger - Taylor's one today wasn't a "me foundation" either). Lucky it was so sheer huh? Imagine being that patchy if it'd been a medium or full cover foundation!!! Love your shadow and highlighter colours today - really pretty. With that type of shadow palette, I think a lot of people forget not everyone likes really dark or in-your-face colours, specially if you're really fair... not to mention a lot of pastelly colours really suit cooler undertones and aren't particularly flattering on warmer ones. From the quick look I got when you held up the palette, it looked like quite a few shades I could wear - far more than are in those warm/neutral-with-a-pop, sunset-type and all-things-peach that are all the rage lately anyway - I'd be lucky to be able to wear a quarter of the shadows in them - usually it's more like 2 shades (as in the token grey-taupe & purple or other "pop" colour).
Yes this palette is like a fair skin person's dream! I was looking around for someplace to link to it but it's gone off HauteLook (where I got it). There are a bunch on eBay but I'm leery of buying makeup on eBay so I don't want to link to something I wouldn't buy myself. Well who am I kidding - I'd totally buy makeup on eBay if I really wanted it and couldn't find it elsewhere. But it's a gamble I wouldn't recommend to most people lol.
Yeah, I'm always super dubious about buying makeup from ebay, amazon, alliexpress too. I'm really tempted to get the "geek" palette from makeup revolution - there seems to be a lot of pastels and jewel colours (aka cool friendly ones) in that. I've never bought one of their's before but at the price (and the surprisingly cheap shipping from the UK) I'm just about prepared to give 'em a go.
So crazy we have similar skin and similar skin issues and we like total opposite foundations! Lol
The miracles and mysteries of body chemistry! :-D It's fascinating to me!
Ha! I bought this foundation last summer along with a bottle of the Neutrogena Healthy Skin formula which is so popular online, especially for those with mature skin. The Healthy Skin foundation looked awful on me, streaky and settled into every line. I returned it for a refund. The HydroBoost was better but the coverage is so light. I cannot seem to build it up at all. It reminds me of when BB creams first came out here in the US. Sheer coverage at best that barely evened things out. I tried wearing it again in the dead of winter to see how it wore in super dry, cold weather. Yikes! No go for sure. I'm with you on that stupid doe-foot, and the formula is so thick I don't know how anyone could get the product out from the bottom third of the bottle. It's weird how such a thick foundation can just disappear on the skin when applied. :/
I think I've got the Healthy Skin foundation in my bin to review :-D ha we will see....
Will be very curious to see how it works for you...(or not). :) I was so bummed after I saw so many videos of 40 & 50 somethings using it and being so happy with it. No pump either.... :(
Gosh, I bought this several months ago. I tried it every which way to Sunday - and could NOT make it work on me. Like all of my makeup fails, it now lives in my daughter's room.
hehe mine is about to live in my niece's room :-D
I bought this last month in the lightest shade and it’s not only to dark but orange. I haven’t been able to wear it. I should have gone with PF’s Healthy Foundation
The PF is a super pretty finish. For some reason when I wear sunscreen underneath the PF it oxidizes a TON on me (straight up orange - the review video is a trip) - but as long as I skip the sunscreen it is fine. Most people have no trouble with oxidation, but if you find that the PF does that to you, try it without sunscreen. It's really pretty. Also the lightest shade is a bit too light for me (that's what I'm wearing in the review), so the shade range is not so bad on the pale end. ruclips.net/video/87v1LLprquI/видео.html
I'm dying to try a buxom lip product. I have an eyeshadow palette that is fantastic. I have some lorac lips and bronzer and blush that I love a ton too. I have that foundation and I'm not sure about it yet. I still like physicians formula.
The Buxom Full On Lip Creams are my favorite glosses of all. They're more pigmented than just a gloss so you can wear them alone, or use them as a topper. They're plumping so you do get that sort of tingle (and I have thin lips, so I like it).
Geek Out of Water yes. I would like that too. Everyone loves that white Russian. That will probably be my first one. Lol
It's my favorite :-D
I wish you would have linked this product to another vendor except Ulta because of course they no longer carry it. I find this so often and I didn't see it in your Amazon shopping either. Oh well.... Have dry skin, & am not a spring chicken.
Here's a (non-affiliate) link to it at Target - www.target.com/p/neutrogena-hydro-boost-hydrating-tint-fair-shades-1-fl-oz/-/A-51041876 I wish I had the time to go back on older videos and keep links up to date, but unfortunately stores change links all the time and I have a full time job outside of RUclips that limits what I can get around to doing. :(
Great review thank you
I need this! My face is really dry 😮
I have a feeling it is not the best hyaluronic acid formulation. It actually dried out my already-dry skin. Hyaluronic acid needs moisture included in the formula in order to have water to hold on to, otherwise it pulls it from your skin. They tried to include a humectant but something in the formula must be counteracting it, because it is definitely not a hydrating formula. I've seen a lot of people have a similar experience.
I like Neutrogena's lip products and that's about it. This failed even as a tinted moisturizer- which is surprising as glycerin (a humectant) is high on the ingredients list.
I am guessing something is counter-acting the moisture properties, because surely they intended glycerin plus HA = joyful moisture retention. With so many reports of it being drying, it seems like they had a great theoretical formula that didn't get enough testing prior to launch.
Merlin says, "at least it's not just a dump bottle" lol..
😂
You're cat doesn't like the doe foot either. Lol.
😂I really should just ask the cats first. I thought about doing that "my cat picked my makeup" challenge that went around RUclips... but they're so stubborn they'd never cooperate!
I returned mine , I looked worse with it than without. It moved around and was blotchy. Do they not try this stuff before they release it?
I'm always super curious who they test these on before releasing them. It stays tacky on me too unless I set it, and even then it transfers and moves around. That seems like a formula issue and not a per-person issue.
You're a trooper!
Hehehehe people at work can't figure out if I'm brilliant at makeup or a straight up disaster :-D Depends what foundation I'm reviewing that day!
Yep! I accidentally used a primer spray as a setting spray and looked like a hot, greasy mess at work. Not a good day!
OK, I've had this foundation and I cannot make it work. It just looks strange on my skin, feels weirdly heavy, very little coverage, and was very patchy. I also found it showed lines I didn't even know I had. I mixed it with other foundations and just cannot make it look good. I also noticed I could not use it if I needed it to last all day...which if I'm going through the trouble to do foundation, that stuff better last from 6am until 10pm. I just can't be bothered with anything that can't last.
I just got this one bc and I found it orange as well. I haven’t worn it yet bc it’s to dark and orange. I wanted a lighter coverage foundation and went back and forth between this and PF Healthy foundation but chose this bc I thought 10 Ivory might be a bit lighter then PF’s Healthy foundation in LC1. It appears I was wrong and made the wrong choice. I was thinking of getting a white mixer bc it’s so hard to find a light enough shade in affordable foundations so I’m going to try it with a white mixer.
Oy exactly how it was on me! :-/ It's a bummer.
Geek Out of Water it was because I so wanted to like it but just no. Such a disappointing dud.
Do you have the Anastasia x Amrezy highlighter? I’m fair like you and that has been the only highlighter I’ve used since it came out haha.
I have stopped myself from buying it every time I see it because at a glance it looks like it will be too dark/gold for me - but I've also seen SO many people with fair skin say it's amazing that I really just need to get it. I'm totally getting into a dewy/uber-highlighty phase (I'm always 4 steps behind the bandwagon, lol). I just need to buy it.
HonestlyKyle and Geek Out of Water : ThaTaylaa (Taylor) uses the ABH Amrezy highlighter with a very light hand and said that she LOVES it.
I didn’t like this one either.
I would appreciate if you could review the Dermablend Flawless Creator Liquid Foundation Drops. Have you tried them? What are your thoughts?
Rena Tiberia - know you are not talking to me, but I tried those drops and found that it makes my foundation transfer like crazy. I tried the cover fx drops before that and like those a lot better as other than making my foundation full coverage, it didn't seem to change the consistency of the foundation itself. They worked great with Revlon colorstay. Ivory is too pink for me, buff is too dark, but when I added N0 to the buff, it looked great :-)
I didn't buy the Dermablend drops yet because there's such a jump from the lightest to the sort-of-light shades even though it's only 1 number up that I couldn't get a shade match swatching in Ulta. I'm waiting for a 10x points with a coupon or something like that, because I'm pretty sure the shade match won't work for me (so I don't want to pay full price)!
Are you getting the Sunday Riley foundation?
Yep I got it! I have a total of 17 high end and 8 drugstore ones in my bin that I have to review. Eeeeek!
I almost picked this up the other day....so glad I didn’t! I am way older than you so it would probably look like a death mask on me! 😂
LOL Timbra! I've heard of a few people liking it, but the overwhelming majority have said no way. I'd say if you do buy it, get it someplace with a good return policy on open makeup.
@@goow Amazon allows one to return makeup, except of course you cannot examine the shade with your own eyes before you buy it you have to depend on descriptions or any experience with that brand from the past
hi, shelly! well, wasn't that a huge disappointment! initially i was thinking it looked pretty good after you finished your makeup; kind of a natural beauty look. wow, did it go down hill super fast or what? i'm glad you did this first (for me anyway) as in about 1 1/2 weeks, cvs is running a special on neutrogena so i know what foundation to avoid - if you could even call it a foundation. more like a dusty floor on a windy day. after seeing the amount of foundations you have yet to do - get cracking or we'll be pub crawling with you in ireland! just kidding. hopefully all is well and good with you and you have a great weekend coming up. take care and enjoy! ~k
LOL that would be THE MOST FUN (pub crawling with all of you guys in Ireland!) Oh the makeup to be had! I am seriously considering packing only the basics and buying a bunch of new stuff to play with when I get there.
Such a shame! I was looking forward to this one... and it's not the cheapest drugstore foundation either so i'll be passing.
I’m new here and love your reviews, they are not only good but sometimes so funny made. Like this one, you’ve a beautiful skin and make up too, but this foundation looks awful! Thanks for sharing this, I wanted to buy this but now....
I just turned 48 and my skin flakes up when I put foundation on. Help.
Hi Heather! If you're not already doing some form of exfoliation in your skin care routine, I'd start there. Lots of ways you can do it - physical exfoliation with scrubby cleansers or cloths, or chemical exfoliation with any sort of AHA/BHA toner or cleanser (I like glycolic acid). Often our skin is flaking but we can't really see it until foundation clings to the edges of the dead skin. So getting rid of the dead skin minimizes that issue. Next up make sure you're moisturizing well.
Hi could you make a video of malani foundation.
Hi Lina! I've reviewed the Milani Conceal & Perfect foundation here - ruclips.net/video/31hZh9zyEVE/видео.html :)
I hated the hydra boost skin wash. It really dried out my skin. X
So ironic!! Definitely a bad hyaluronic acid formulation.
I laughed through the whole video! I literally tossed mine in the trash! I don’t even want to use this as a hydration! I was awful!!! Hahahaha I know, girl the pores 😂😅🤨 my face was a desert 🌵 🐫 unbelievably horrible experience wearing this foundation sorry tint. I thought gezz I have Braille face, from the pores, crapes for dinner, it was the fastest foundation I got rid of. I was embarrassed 😳 hahahahaha Hahahahahahaha! I wouldn’t even give it away. Itchy!!! Yes!!!!!! Hahahahaha I give it an F! You are so nice! Hehehehehe! 👍🏻👍🏻 🤟🏻😉
When I was editing the close-up footage I was like OMG PORES whaaaaat!!!!! 😂
"Braille face" - damn, that is hilarious. Love it.
lovemyrainydays thanks opps I spelled it wrong. Thanks for the heads up!
Hahaha yes and it said, “you look years older...” ✋🏻😶 I could see lines and pores I didn’t know I had! I wasn’t having it!
I really think your being extra. I think your face looks great still.
You know it's good content when you will sit through a 3 minute crypto currency AD and you already know you don't like the product she's going to review 😉
Happy Friday Shelly & Happy Birthday Mer!🐱
Ahhh I just got back from the store, sat down to watch this video and busted open the Maybelline Master Chrome Rose Gold Highlighter to swatch! I was playing with it right as you mentioned it in the video. And again with the great minds!
Why is it so oddly satisfying that RUclips is picking crypto currency ads for my videos??!! At least they picked up on the "geek" part (albeit with absolutely zero context, lol!)
I feel a love for that highlighter that is just barely lower than my love for the Laura Geller gelato swirl - but at the Maybelline price point, there's zero guilt in slathering myself in it :-D
Merlin says MEOW!
Geek Out of Water I know it really is beautiful isnt it? At first I wasn't sure because its such a thick formula, I thought it would really show off texture, but really buffed onto the skin it's absolutely gorgeous! Hopefully the Crypto Currency ads pay well! some of them are 10 minutes long!
Yikes! Thanks for taking one for the team! LOL! That's so disappointing!
There's always another foundation to try! 😂
I tried this foundation and promptly sent it on it's way to my trash bin. Could NOT make this one work at all. Sad :(
It's such a bummer! :(
I used this and decluttered after several tries, it never worked! Our skin looks "leathery" with this and the pores are really showing themselves! NO GO!
Definitely no to leathery skin!! I wore it twice with no luck.
How much
It is anywhere from $9-16 depending where you get it (currently lower on Amazon and $15.69 at Target).
Thanks for the review! Definitely a pass!
I like the Physicians formula foundation better than this one.
Oh yeah. It has a much more beautiful finish especially.
If you have skin, this is most likely not going to work for you. 🤣
😂😂
sometimes i wonder how things this bad ever get made.
thanks for allowing me to strike this off my " foundations to try" list.
I go back and forth between thinking they only test on young skin, to - they don't test at all!
I think this is a pass!
Yep I think it's going to work for somebody (thus the D- instead of F) but not me!
Horrible! This made you look like you have lizard skin. Super big fail. Hope all is well with you and all your viewers. Have a great weekend!
Whenever I wear one of these duds to work, I think that people must have no clue what to think - either I'm brilliant at makeup or I'm walking around looking like a walking lizard-human.... there's no in between :-D (Most people at work don't know I have this channel).
Good thing what others think don't matter! You are beautiful regardless what a crappy makeup might do! And like you said at the end of the video, it was only up close that you could see how horrible this foundation was
