Similarly, these painful feelings and recollections are often things I find myself dwelling in too whenever they resurface. It's hard to move on when the only comfort that saves you from this miserable feeling is ironically the positive experiences from the relationship with your ex, but it only leaves you longing for her even more. New positive experiences and joyous memories need to be made in order to move on or else the source of your happiness will always be the cause of your pain. Spend more time with your friends and family to help mend the wound. Time can only these wounds with a supportive company that consists of the people that genuinely care about you.
It's good to find comfort here. Been single since November last year. She cheated after 6 years of such a beautiful relationship. But now all those beautiful memories haunt me so much. Even after everything, I am a man who believes there is no point in holding grudges nor any ill will. Life is far too short to have another person in this world you don't like. Im no therapist but its made a difference in my life. I cut out my angry or depressing music until i could control my own thoughts, for the most part. Everyone is different but theres always a way. Even if you cant stop it, theres a way to at least cope with it. Might take trial and error to find it.

Yeah, I feel that second guy. My most recent relationship was 2 years ago (not as long as him, I know) and when she cheated on me, my world broke. I cared so much for her, and now I'm just haunted by those memories. Was any of that real? Now she's with my (honestly ex) best friend, and because SHE apologized for doing that to me, they both think we're cool. He never said a word about it to me.
Now, time has passed, we've both grown, and I'm able to be friends with her, and I will NEVER, under ANY circumstance give her another chance should that become an available avenue (as their relationship is paper-thin at best right now). But I will never forgive my ex best friend. I won't even consider beginning to forgive him until he takes responsibility for breaking me and actually apologizes. At this point, I know that won't happen.
Shit like that happens to you, you wonder whether or not you're actually lovable. If anybody even can care. And when you're me and have been cheated on twice, that just makes it worse. So yeah, I'm just like that second guy. Whenever you try opening that can of worms, I just get too emotional to talk, it's just sounds and head movements.

The most important thing is to stop feeling bad for yourself, push forward, conquer, and learn to love yourself. If you love someone and they dont love you back, put your time into something or someone else. Easier said than done but it gets better when you start loving yourself. I never thought i could do it until i overcame the voice in my head that kept saying I'll never be happy, i dont deserve love, and that i cant love myself.

Im no therapist but its made a difference in my life. I cut out my angry or depressing music until i could control my own thoughts, for the most part. Everyone is different but theres always a way. Even if you cant stop it, theres a way to at least cope with it. Might take trial and error to find it.

Im 20, im in love with this girl who used to be my classmate whom i first met back in my 2nd year of highschool. I confessed to her but got rejected in 2021 but we still remains in touch with each other until now by mostly chatting to each other almost daily even though she got admitted to a different uni than i did. Ive always been an inconsistent person when it comes to what i want to do, and that has led to a lot of regrets. Some of the regrets are when i didnt study enough for my uni admission test for the uni that both me and her promised to get together into. Dont think ive done anything meaningful ever since i got admitted to this uni of mine, too. Ive been slacking a lot, wasting my time playing video games, sleeping, and basically any other meaningless things imaginable when other college students of my age are busy doing volunteering jobs and getting experiences and all that- and, ive been telling myself that im not good enough for her (for the way i am right now, this is true) but as long as she's happy then im happy too even if im not the one she's going to marry. One of the clip of this short where there are two person reading out a letter(?) of someone who's been in love with this girl he loved for 5 years but in the end married to a different guy woke me tf up. Im not gonna be happy if she's going to marry another guy, I'll be the one to make her happy and only then i can truly be happy.
