Wow, that takes me back! About 40 years ago I built the Airfix version of the Crusader. I recall the plastic on the front of the hull was so thick it could have taken a round or two from a real Panzer! ;-) Great build, as always
I've been re-reading Keith Douglas' memoir, "Alamein to Zem Zem". He fought through North Africa in several Crusaders, mostly Mark IIIs. Also, there is a new video from The Chieftain on this tank: ruclips.net/video/sOEuliX81Hw/видео.html
Andy great to see some British armour on the show, you needed to play Nimrod my elgar while constucting the kit and had a nice cuppa tea and some fish and chips LOL great video Andy thankyou
Really nice work sir. You have strengthened my idea to build this together with the Panzer IV Ausf. G to commemorate the Battle of El Alamein. I really should sneak in a Sherman aswell as respect to our great American allies. Regards from England.
I built Italeris unchanged re-issue of the original kit from 1976 the other year. In my opinion, a really nice model. Compared to Tamiyas old 1/35 kits, like the Panther ausf. A, the Crusader is fantastic.
Hey Andy can you do a tour of your shop and show us all the models on your shelf desk thing because you only show like 30 seconds if the finished model but I wish you would show it for longer
I have to do that just now with the new Border crusader mk3 with the besa barrel! Leave half the original barrel in and line it up! The Border besa mg is huge compared to it so must be well outta scale!
I've just built this, but not as well, and immediately snapped the searchlight off whilst trying to find out if the tracks were supposed to be that saggy! Mine came with 5 figures, btw. Now to try and paint it...
i don't know why but i love your videos . even though painting is my least favorite part of modeling. but i must say you have made me do more modeling than any other medium.
I built the original Italeri. The details were worn away, the locating pins and mounting marks were faded or just missing. The instructions looked like a 1950s comic book and the parts weren't numbered on the sprue, you had to work off the sprue map. Not worth a discount price, never mind the premium it went for. Tamiya would fix all the issues with it, they just don't box things that bad.
I have the original italieri kit, it wasn’t bad however for some reason italieri kits usually have you melt the wheels like how you melt the vinyl tracks which stops the ability to remove the wheels for better access to the inner hull, also the instructions that Italieri makes can be quite confusing sometimes
Silly Putty makes for a wonderful mask for airbrushing. You can mold it to conform to the shape you want. It will not leave behind any residue. It won't pull up dry paint. You can do a base paint. Then mask it off where you want 1 pattern. Then mask over again any other area to keep what you want or pocket in areas if you want to do smaller portions. Airbrushing over the silly putty won't ruin the putty either.
Andy, wonderful video... I was wondering, could you please explain the purpose of the paint retarder? I apologize, but I didn't understand the function of that product.
Hi yes the paint retarder slows the paint from drying very fast and it allows it to level out and get rid of brush strokes, so it gives a smoother finish
Hi Andy! I love your videos and want to ask your if you could make a tutorial about top-/clearcoating and film the whole process. Greetings from Germany
Hi Andy, been following you since the beginning. Would you consider doing a build of the M 26 Pershing by Tamiya which saw action at the end of the war in limited numbers. Keep on going!
Great job, Andy, as always. Do you sell or have you heard of Black Dog resin kits from the Czech Republic? Their specialty, if I am to believe their website, is add on accessories for a whole host of kits from across the 1/35 spectrum. No, I don't work for them, but I sure would like to see some of their stuff before committing to a purchase. Again, thanks for all your work, been a subscriber since the beginning, I think. Carry on, and stay out of the sun.
No problem, Andy. I like the classics you play during the build; it's a nice change! Can do me one favor, though? The word is ack-sessories, not assess-ories. You say it every time, so I thought I'd finally mention it. 8-)
Hi Andy. Love your builds. What are the extra parts on the sprues for? Also, as others have mentioned, your opening music is very loud. Thank you for doing what you do and think about cloning in order to open a shop in Edmonton Alberta.
Nice video. I like your work overall. Don't you think that showing the difficult parts of the build would really help out the average person using these as build guides though? You tend to skip the difficult and only include the easy parts. Then say what you did in retrospect, but that isn't very helpful in that if we go to build it and face that problem. Thanks
hi Andy, I've been after this tamiya paint retarder for a while now and can't get it in the UK! I was wondering if you had any ideas. I can't get the panel line accent colour by tamiya in the UK neither. I've tried an eBay seller, who sent a completely different product all together. I ordered the paint retarder and she sent me, from Japan, tamiya limonene cement instead! so I'm wary of getting, or trying too, from eBay. any suggestions please? love your videos, keep them coming. Stu
There is a small decal sheet but they don't work with the paint scheme I did , the instructions I showed are from the tamiya 1/48 scale kit. and after looking at WWII photos first there was a few with only a small turret number on it and I had nothing to make that.
hey! really great content here! I have a question, if I had cement glue, an airbrush and paint, a file and tweezers, would that be enough to build a model or two? and if it is how do you wash out the airbrush after you've used it for one color? thanks ahead of time!
hi Andy, amazing job as usual, I have a question for you. Will you build some ships in the future or you will continue with ground vehicles? Can't wait to see next video, have a nice day
Hi Andy! I'm 51 and back into models. I started building again a few months ago, and I now use an Iwata Neo Airbrush (very happy with it), and Tamiya paints and some Vallejo stuff. My question, is this, after a coat of Tamiya, how long should I wait for it to dry? I'm typically allowing 24 hrs after priming, and overnight minimum for the tamiya paints. Does blow-drying work?

I was once taught not to use pure white or black on models, always soften the blacks to a very dark grey and the whites to off white, I imagine you get the same effect by weathering, this works particularly well in architectural modelling, when you use the softened blacks and whites the models look far more realistic.
Andy I have noticed that you don't prime your kit. A lot of the modelers I know on facebook say *ALWAYS* prime your kits. Is there really a difference if the kit is primed or not? BTW how much is that PZ IV and It's Variants book? I have been wanting that book for some time now and the price keeps getting higher and higher!

Thank you for the review. It looks like a fun kit and the weathering turned out really nice.
Wow! Great job on the weathering. Loved the contrast in the camouflage with the sand and dust all over it.
great build as always Andy the metal barrel looks a great addition and the brown panel line paint as a wash looked great . good job
Thank you Robert
Nice to see a cool British tank, well done Andy.

I’m making this right now, and I have to say, this is really great!
Hi Andy,
I would just like to say you have completed another great build, well done.
Les
Really cool job on the camo pattern. Looks fantastic!
GREAT BUILD! LOVE THE CAMO PATTERN, CAME OUT AWESOME
Love you videos as always Andy keep them coming 🏴😁
Working on this kit now. Such a cool looking tank
Another grand build Andy! You said you're not the best at building figures but I would love to see you attempt at it.
Another great kit and build.
Great vid,Great music, Just Great! thankyou Andy.
Quality video as always Andy, hitting us hard lately with top quality videos !!! keep up the great work !
Another great video on a different subject. Well done.
thank you

Well done Andy!Nice details!I like tamiya kits!Thank you for sharing!Keep up the good work!👍😎
Thank you
Looks Awesome Andy!
thank you
9:09 where can i get accessories like this, backpacks, pouches, helmets, in a seperate set? i would like to dress up some of my airfix 1/35 soldiers
You'd probably need to look online for that.
Hey Andy can you do a tour of your shop and show us all the models on your shelf desk thing because you only show like 30 seconds if the finished model but I wish you would show it for longer
You did a very good job
thank you
My favorite british ww2 tank. Great job

Thank you very much for the kind words.

Wondering why you weather the tank before applying the decals. Wouldn't they weather too?
Been looking for a kit like this for months.

I'm sooooooo getting that for Christmas.
Did you put anything on the black base coat before you put the masking tape on?
Super work, thanks for sharing it
Looks Great
that is amazing very nice video!!

Hi yes the paint retarder slows the paint from drying very fast and it allows it to level out and get rid of brush strokes, so it gives a smoother finish
now do u seal this with clear coat before u weather and decal?
Could you build a PzH2000 and a Challenger 2?
Where do you find the metal barrels and other suck accessories?
What's the mad looking German UFO/Hover type thing in the background called?
Could you maybe build some modern swedish armour like the strv 122 or cv 90?
Does the kit come with North Africa decals?
Hi Andy!
I love your videos and want to ask your if you could make a tutorial about top-/clearcoating and film the whole process.
Greetings from Germany
I want to weather my German grey Tiger 1 by tamiya what products should i buy for weathering the tracks and the tank itself?
various mud and dust pigments
Finished a Tamiya Crusader Mk I/II 1/48th scale a month ago, and wished they have the rubber tracks that this kit has for it. I hate the other sort!
why don't you prime your models before painting?
U r awesome Andy.
thank you
hey andy can you please build some modern armour? I for some reason find these kinds of videos very entertaining and relaxing :D
Hi Andy, been following you since the beginning. Would you consider doing a build of the M 26 Pershing by Tamiya which saw action at the end of the war in limited numbers. Keep on going!
the antennas - how long are they??
What kind of rods did you put in the tank gun?

No unit numbers, badges, on this one, Andy?
Hey Andy, great build, again! Hey I was wondering, takin just came out with the t29, and I was wondering if you could build it. Keep up the good work!
realy nice biuld!! awesome!!!
Thank you
Andy, are you aware that your intro animation music is much louder than the rest of your video in all of your videos? Great build, btw.
I think he's gradually cranking it up until it becomes a jumpscare
My sides would go into orbit if he does that
I am now, sorry I usually go through and balance the volume and I am sorry I forgot to
I'm doing everything I saw in your videos
No problem, Andy. I like the classics you play during the build; it's a nice change! Can do me one favor, though? The word is ack-sessories, not assess-ories. You say it every time, so I thought I'd finally mention it. 8-)
carmium it'z all bout ze actzent
looks good but dose it match up to the Airfix kit
stuart thorne the Airfix kit sucks compared to Tamiyas.
Hi Andy. Love your builds. What are the extra parts on the sprues for? Also, as others have mentioned, your opening music is very loud. Thank you for doing what you do and think about cloning in order to open a shop in Edmonton Alberta.

Muy bien Hecho !!!!
Where did you get your metal paint stand? Sorry if this has already been asked in another one of your videos.
Steve from Value gear made it for me out of a old bearing
I was afraid you were going to say it was custom made. I'll check out a Tamiya stand I've seen at a local hobby shop. Thanks!

look nice tank it look easy for me to do
Hey Andy could you try building some Japanese tanks
did any decals come with the kit or did you forget to put them on?
don't worry, I do that all the time on armour models
There is a small decal sheet but they don't work with the paint scheme I
did , the instructions I showed are from the tamiya 1/48 scale kit. and
after looking at WWII photos first there was a few with only a small
turret number on it and I had nothing to make that.
Andy's Hobby Headquarters thanks!
Yes I wanted you do this one
hey! really great content here! I have a question, if I had cement glue, an airbrush and paint, a file and tweezers, would that be enough to build a model or two? and if it is how do you wash out the airbrush after you've used it for one color? thanks ahead of time!
Thank you , yes that would get you started well.
Andy's Hobby Headquarters thank you!
Try and get yourself a set of sprue cutters, very handy for cutting close to the model parts, and then they require less sanding
Tommy Sproule I looked around my house and I have some wire cutter kind of pliers and they seem that they will work great. thanks for the tip!
Tommy Sproule when you use an airbrush, (if you use one) how do you clean it out after you've used a certain color?
hi Andy, amazing job as usual, I have a question for you. Will you build some ships in the future or you will continue with ground vehicles? Can't wait to see next video, have a nice day

Hi Andy
Do you prep the metal parts for paint since you don't use a actual primer? Or you just paint with Tamiya?
no tamiya straight on
Are you talking about Italeri? I haven't heard of Eyetalerey or are they a new company?
Do you use a spraybooth or a mask?
A mask when I spray
Looks great Andy, just one question...what a bout the decals?? Decided against using them? Ok, thats technically two questions. ;-)
There is a small decal sheet but they don't work with the paint scheme I
did , the instructions I showed are from the tamiya 1/48 scale kit. and
after looking at WWII photos first there was a few with only a small
turret number on it and I had nothing to make that.
Ah ok, that makes sense, i was just curious. Great build as always..keep up the great work.

hi andy i am a Chinese visitor .can i share your videos to chinese people who like models in bilbil ?
Andy I have noticed that you don't prime your kit. A lot of the modelers I know on facebook say *ALWAYS* prime your kits. Is there really a difference if the kit is primed or not? BTW how much is that PZ IV and It's Variants book? I have been wanting that book for some time now and the price keeps getting higher and higher!
Thanks for your great videos. I am starting back into the hobby and was wondering is the 1/35 scale the predominate scale?
Yes, it is.
I never knew that this existed!
it's kind of a cool tank
Cool a Brit tank
andy can you build a valentine ii/iv ?
