We have a dead valley like in your second example. We have an addition where the previous homeowner enclosed the patio. All the water runs right against The Valley and we already had one expensive repair and now it’s leaking again. Absolutely hate it. And I think I will suggest to my roofer to just eliminate that wall. I’ll probably even show them this video. Thanks!
Every time I see a dead valley on houses, which is often, I immediately wonder how anyone would even think designing that way is acceptable for keeping water off and away from the structure.
@@HowToBuildYourOwnHome thos is actually a house I'm teaing down, this is just one of many problems. But you're correct, dead valleys are just a water leak waiting to happen

I agree one-hundred percent.
Unbelievable what you see up here in the Mountains of Colorado. Look at some of those homes and you have to wonder about the architects thinking.
Architects rarely design from an on-the-ground three-dimensional view.
I have a dead valley in my current house, didn't know that's what it was called, but yes, it leaks, alot.
It can be fixed. I have a small dead valley coming up that I will prep with a great product.
