Put the grille back on. Getting a stone through your intercooler is an expensive mistake, and to be honest its only the small standard intercooler, nobody is really going to notice it or be impressed by being able to see it
A result with the window regulator there. It was worth a try at £6 for the repair kit even though the old regulator lunched the cable. The glass coming down was probably the car learning the position of the glass. The grille is there to protect the intercooler from stones that get thrown up from the road. It looks a bit exposed without the grille. A bit of electrical tape would've helped the boost gauge pipe fit better and is a bit less messy than the sealant.
The window reset procedure is easy. Just press the window up button until the window reaches the top, then let go and press up again then release. Do the same for the down funtion. Also I think the window coming down on it's own was the anti trap working as it should. You also have global opening and closing. When you open the car with the ley fob hold the button down and all 4 windows will completely open. You can also do the same to close them all if they are open and you want to lock the car, just press the lock button on the fob and hold it down (very useful especially in summer). The drivers window is also one touch operation so just hold it down for a second then let go and it will fully open, same for closing it. Hope it helps and great videos
Hope you feel better soon, enjoyable and informative, I’m learning tips from watching your videos, which is great because I know nothing about cars lol x.
Another good video, put the grill back on, or some sort of mesh painted black you don't want a stone through your radiator. I one's fitted the same window winder for a customer, she brought it back with a door rattle, she got her rattle fixed, I got my 10mm socket back.
I mean you could do this little trick. You’ve sealed the boost gage pipe with sealant and a zip tie. But, you could get “heat shrink” and put it over it. So put the heat shrink on the pipe, seal the pipe onto the gage, then heat the heat shrink. Then if you want add the zip tie. You won’t need it but you can do it. It really helps tighten up things. Finding an adaptor is long.
Did the window come back down because you need to run the reset process, no idea about Fords if they do or not. How about a small piece of heat shrink on back of boost guage and then push the rubber pipe on top of the heat shrink. Great fix on the window
I would definitely advise putting some Silicone oil in the window runners. As has already been said it helps with putting less strain on the mechanism & motor. As there's less friction, you should also find that the glass moves up & down faster.
lacossa nostra, I'm not sure he's mentioned getting this resprayed and the point is that any lubricant would only be used inside the window channels, not on the bodywork. Also, the product you mention has 50-70% silicones as a major part of it's specification so there is no advantage in that respect anyway.
I do enjoy watching your videos's, nice that you upload when you get it wrong as well, good to learn from your mistakes, saves us from doing the same, I watched both and decided to go with already fitted type, Brand new from Amazon £25 (no motor) didn't fancy the second hand route. keep up the good work.
correct me if im wrong but im sure those Sony Speakers are 5x7 and where use as an upgrade from the paper cone ones that was in some other mondeos. I have a few off those clock surrounds about if you want me to send you a few to try differant looks? Good video James
Don’t forgot window reset for the global and one touch closing. Yes the carbon fibre has been stuck on ...v.naff. Will be silver chrome effect underneath only on ST models (poss titanium x), keep it original.
Nice one glad it all worked out in the end with the window I reckon gloss black for the interior bits could look quite smart with the black leather., Great video again James hope you're feeling better soon 👍
Great video James,a few things done especially that window regulator which is 1st on the list, the carbon fibre in the interior would look nice in red with the gear gaitor in red cotton.that would look nice.
I would be very cautious of removing the lower grille to expose the inter-cooler. What happens if you hit something on the road, say a pigeon perhaps? It`s going to damage your inter-cooler. Put some sort of mesh over the hole painting it black so it blends in and doesn`t stand out. I had considered painting my center console gear lever surround in the same colour as my car ( Sea Grey ) rather than the standard brushed steel effect. Another informative video and a job well done.
Amazing video James ,love the wee random add on jobs at the end ,

This speakers are premium option and came with SONY or DENSO navigation system in Mondeo Mk3. As a new this premium navigation system cost in the Czech Republic 40 000 CZK extra (something around 1400 Pounds) and that's a reason that I was very lucky to get them for my Focus Mk1 :) Same size, same connector, not loud as original speakers, but much better sound quality. :)
Dont know about Fords. But on Renaults you have to close the window. Then hold the button up for 10 seconds. So it knows thats the top. After that the 1 press down, and 1 press up should also work.
James with your boost guage clean all that silicone off and use your brake flaring tool to put a small flare on the end of the boost guage thus making the rubber pipe you use tighter then it you feel the need you can put a cable tie on aswell but it will only slide as far as the flange so even accidental tugging won't make it leak
You’ll want to replace that membrane behind the door card mate because when it rains a lot it’s going to flood inside the car, they are “wet doors” where the water runs down through the inside of them and out the bottom. The speakers aren’t 6x9s but they are 5x7s and ford standard fitted, very good speakers mind. I would use a small jubilee clip on the boost gauge.
Good result and satisfying to have working windows again!! Dunno about the interior though. I think I’d be looking at the hydro graphic water transfer type coverings for the interior plastics. Options are virtually endless!
To stop the window coming down when it goes to the top, gradually take it to top limit and hold the up button, there should be a click when it resets it’s top position, I’ve just done the same job on my 08 Fiesta ST and the speakers look very similar
Your interior pieces are chrome. They've been wrapped. The Mondeo (facelift) in the UK had three interior specs: LX, Zetec and Trend had Silver plastic inserts. The Ghia, Titanium and Zetec Business had wooden style plastic pieces and the ST had metal chrome inserts.
After all that and the battery didn’t go flat again. I was waiting til the end of the video and you saying “Oh the battery has gone flat again” Good fix though mate. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
some years ago my window mechanism failed and the window wouldn't go up... in a winter storm while I was driving. one of the worst experiences ever. and the water coming in the car also messed up my window switches. on the plus side, was a good excuse to upgrade my door speakers while I was inside the door.
The lining is called a membrane bud, I'm ex Autoglass and that black sticky stuff is called trimseal and I would thought have been put on by a windscreen firm when replacing a window.
Jubilee clip for boost gauge and i would put the grill on to cover intercooler because 1 stone will ruin it, I’m speaking from experience it happened to me at a cost of £160 for a replacement
Yep indeed! It's keeping the interior from getting damp and keep and rain at the door side. Also make sure the drain holes in bottom of the door is clean so any moist can get out from the door.
Central locking? Key in lock, turn to open and hold. All Windows should go down. Turn to lock, all Windows should go up and reset. If not hold open button on fob and repeat with lock button
Black plastidip for the trim If you want to show off the dirty derv intercooler, change it to a polished alloy one. The black one just looks dirty and naff
Hi mate watch loads of your clips watched you fitting a trc splitter was that good a bought one for my 220 04 plate prob with my 220 every time a hit a flood my engine management light comes on disconnect my battery for half hour resets its self any ideas mate Aidy from scotland
Definitely keep the carbon what about a more shiny version though also doing the whole of the center console would look better. Don't go for a colour it looks so cheap
Did you get that screenwash from b and m or similar? Word of warning I had the cherry stuff and it left watermarks on my screen and roof I had to machine polish off, bloody awful stuff!!
Love getting car parts come through my door haha, best feeling ever!
Hi
Maybe new gril to protect exposed intercooler from damage. 👍
Boost gauge pipe: small jubilee clip? (cable ties aren't designed to clamp).
Put the grille back on. Getting a stone through your intercooler is an expensive mistake, and to be honest its only the small standard intercooler, nobody is really going to notice it or be impressed by being able to see it

Get a candle and run it up and down the window runners, it will make them run up and down a lot smoother and quieter.
Another good video, put the grill back on, or some sort of mesh painted black you don't want a stone through your radiator.

Great fix on the window
I binge watch this channel
Clear 100% silicone caulk works great as an adhesive.
Diesel Mondeos are awesome, an estate would be the bomb.
Nice job 👍next. Valve stem oil seals next. Blue on start up.
Or turbo is on its way out
James, use laminate wood underlay for the foam. It's the same stuff just not moulded.
Put the interior to brushed metal like standard cars. Breaks up the black nicely
I would definitely advise putting some Silicone oil in the window runners. As has already been said it helps with putting less strain on the mechanism & motor. As there's less friction, you should also find that the glass moves up & down faster.

not sure on the inter cooler been displayed...i would of going with a chrome grill....great video ....
I will say all the trims putting back to standard looks better
correct me if im wrong but im sure those Sony Speakers are 5x7 and where use as an upgrade from the paper cone ones that was in some other mondeos. I have a few off those clock surrounds about if you want me to send you a few to try differant looks? Good video James
Nice job on the door/window regulator. Your engine compartment looks very clean👍.
Informative video James , nice one.
Great video glad u got the window sorted and hope your feeling better lad 😊 and ink blue with the St red for trim
Mind you need to reset the window for global closure........put window up release then hole up for 5secs then do the same down the way 👍🏻
Awesome video man! Ps the speaker is the factory Mondeo speaker. I have a Ghia and it had the same ones till I upgraded them :p
Great video James,a few things done especially that window regulator which is 1st on the list, the carbon fibre in the interior would look nice in red with the gear gaitor in red cotton.that would look nice.
Tip:
Spray some silicone oil in the window rubbers( door). The cables get less stress that way.
The Mechanic I 2nd this tip, I sprayed my window seal once with silicone and it's better than it was before.
I would be very cautious of removing the lower grille to expose the inter-cooler. What happens if you hit something on the road, say a pigeon perhaps? It`s going to damage your inter-cooler. I would put a grill in front of that intercooler as otherwise it wont be long before stones completely ruin it
Amazing video James ,love the wee random add on jobs at the end ,

Shame you didn’t replace the water shedder but overall well done, really enjoying watching your progress on your many differing projects 👍
Good result and satisfying to have working windows again!!
Dunno about the interior though. I think I’d be looking at the hydro graphic water transfer type coverings for the interior plastics. Options are virtually endless!
You could always use a small shirk wrap on the nipple of the boost gauge to take up any slack in the tubing.
To stop the window coming down when it goes to the top, gradually take it to top limit and hold the up button, there should be a click when it resets it’s top position, I’ve just done the same job on my 08 Fiesta ST and the speakers look very similar

Looking forward to the mondeo service video 👍 top vid again mate
After all that and the battery didn’t go flat again. I was waiting til the end of the video and you saying “Oh the battery has gone flat again” Good fix though mate. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

6x9 is standard size for all Mondeos. If you have the Sony 6 disc head unit you get Sony branded uprated speakers
The lining is called a membrane bud, I'm ex Autoglass and that black sticky stuff is called trimseal and I would thought have been put on by a windscreen firm when replacing a window.
Standard on some motors
Ex-Autowindscreens
Little D Training correct, hence the “I would have thought” 😉
@@1616Six we all know it would never had gone back after a replacement 😀
The inner door cards for sound proofing. I’m sure you can buy something like it even.foam carpet underlay
Are you not concerned about leaving that intercooler vulnerable to stone damage removing the gril?
Yes I was thinking this also...
Wrap the interior bits in gloss black. Will look nice and clean. Much better than the carbon fibre
Them trims would look nice in that in ink blue
Nice video's,in own a 2.5 V6,MKIII (my second one),nice cars only the rust..
You put a lot of money in the ST220..(sorry, i'm Dutch..).
Should go with a matt silver or high gloss black vinyl. Wrap the whole centre console including the climate control surround and radio surround :)
Another enjoyable video! Cheers bud. Go with ink blue wrap!
wheel refurb also needed. should do silver wheels so can go with the chrome trim.
Nice one James, get well soon buddy.
Jubilee clip for boost gauge and i would put the grill on to cover intercooler because 1 stone will ruin it, I’m speaking from experience it happened to me at a cost of £160 for a replacement
That plastic/sponge thing is a vapour barrier
Yep indeed! It's keeping the interior from getting damp and keep and rain at the door side. Also make sure the drain holes in bottom of the door is clean so any moist can get out from the door.
The speakers are 5×7's standard from factory in most modern ford now
Central locking?
Key in lock, turn to open and hold. All Windows should go down. Turn to lock, all Windows should go up and reset.
If not hold open button on fob and repeat with lock button
Have you ever thought about getting a gopro chest mount for these videos? Might be easier to film whilst using both hands.
Great video James. Hope your feeling better soon. 🤧🤒. Do it silver. Like the wheels lol
Hey James just put a hose clamp around the boost gage hose :) and keep up the good work with your videos
Where you put the coolant in it’s from a jag xtype as ford owned jag for a little while as an xtype is a ford mondeo re shelled
Silver for the interior bits
Ditch the carbon wrap stuff. Silver for me. Although have you seen hydro dipping? Get lots of funky stuff with that.
K&N filter will be a reddish colour after cleaning & re oiling
Hope your better soon videos are best well done m8
hi james the foam part you want to replace is called a membrane
Good vid and yeh those speakers are standard my this had them and my fiesta has the same there sound good though
Yay well done
Black plastidip for the trim
If you want to show off the dirty derv intercooler, change it to a polished alloy one. The black one just looks dirty and naff
great vid just ordered some stickers for my toolbox..
For the interior trim, I'd say brushed aluminium effect vinyl wrap.
Love your videos bro keep up the great work love the mondeo 👍😀
That is a standard 6x9 speaker for the car, I made the comment about it :).
Cool, nice job or should I say jolly good.
What happened to the front splitter video?
Good job!
Hi mate watch loads of your clips watched you fitting a trc splitter was that good a bought one for my 220 04 plate prob with my 220 every time a hit a flood my engine management light comes on disconnect my battery for half hour resets its self any ideas mate Aidy from scotland
Get the trim hydrodipped! Look into doing it yourself with a large tub and some rattle cans
They're 5x7 speakers. A lot of fords from that era had them. My mk6 Fiesta was the same.
Hi just ordered a hoodie and 2 stickers from you 👍
yes I would put blue
Vapour barrier is what the torn sheet is called.
just get a small cir clip for the boost pipe
Good informative video
Interior should be ink blue all the way James! 👌🔥😍 love the videos btw keep up the good work! 🙏👏😝
Ink blue all the way 👍🏽👍🏽
Hello James, just wanted to ask did you ever sell your converted corsa and I'm not sure if you mentioned it just curious
Definitely keep the carbon what about a more shiny version though also doing the whole of the center console would look better. Don't go for a colour it looks so cheap
Nice video... Great window fix
Wrap the small pipe with some electrical tape to increase its diameter and get a snug fit
Matt silver/grey/black for trim, anything else looks bit chavy and cheap similar with carbon fibre wrap
Love the work mate.
Do the trim brushed aluminium
A nice interior detailing would be nice , James :D
It’s a ‘shedder sheet’ 😊
What about using lock wire on the boost gauge?
Did you get that screenwash from b and m or similar?
Word of warning I had the cherry stuff and it left watermarks on my screen and roof I had to machine polish off, bloody awful stuff!!
darkwaterblue that was pink antifreeze he was putting in his expansion tank bottle , his screen wash was just water he put in
