I remember when I set up my first Hackintosh, I tried Clover first, but after too many failed attempts I decided to go with OpenCore and it worked first try. The device was a Dell Latitude E6540, such a great Laptop.
Exact same with me, clover didn't work and opencore worked first time
@@NotroShorts I think it's because OC has a way better documentation than Clover, but it could also be caused by the fact that OC's Devs are very active in Forums. For example: A (advanced) user of the German hackintosh-forum couldn't get his laptop to work on newer OC versions, and as it turned out, it was an OC problem. It didn't even take an hour until the Dev fixed the Issue.
@@NotroShorts Clover is outdated from what I've seen. It was the GOAT many years back, but now is rather niche only advisable for some special setups where OC fails.
Clover saved my ass many time. Recently I put a NVME ssd in a motherboard that don't support it and boot the ssd from clover...
Love the dedication!
I hackintoshed a real Mac, an old MacBook Pro is the computer I installed OpenCore on to get this ancient hardware to run new macOS, rather than old macOS.
Is it worth it
@@defaultuser1.0 yeah use OCLP, it does all the work for you
that ain't hackintoshing
WOW.. love it.. Very inspiring.. I gotta build one now.
Thats so fun to get my spec laptop in opencore ❤
My laptop is Thinkpad T460 i5 6300U
may i ask if you might be able to drop the efi folder i got a error that i think your efi can fix
Do you have a link or anyway to contact you about that custom plate that can fit an io plate????? I just bought a 2010 mac pro case and I would like to finish it so I can begin my build but I don’t want it to be sloppy so I am willing to pay anything for that back plate so it looks cut and clean
I hope you get back to me, Thanks
The Laser Hive offers great conversion kits, take a look there
@@jansinghof983 I actually did a couple months ago but the website is down so you have to contact him through email at the bottom of the website but he never responds so kinda a loss cause
can we pls get a tutorial???
Wish I could do it but it’s too difficult for me. 🥺
It’s not that hard, but it’s very hardware specific
Cool
Nice
Thanks
All of that for a 9th gen intel build. The case part was nice but overall specs of the mechine is bad.
I built this about 3 years ago now, maybe it is due an upgrade?
9th gen is one of the last supported cpus in macOS
Since when is 9th get "bad"? Even the x5355 Xeons i my 2006 Mac Pro are totally fine for most tasks other than AAA gaming.
@@Windo0ows I thought 11th gen and possibly 12th gen was supported?!
@@andrupka8749 ikr?? 9th gen is still good!
