Thanks for the video. I got a denim maxi skirt with a front slit and I think those look better with the knee high boot or cowboy boot. I do think the cropped jackets made you look taller.
Such a fun video, and I can tell you had fun making it.😊 I have a midi denim skirt that I think will work with some of the looks you styled. Thanks for showing the sock trend! Oh, and the cardigan front-tuck was genius! Thanks, Jamie! ❤
Every Single Thing you styled is Stunning!!!! I am definitely going to try the cardigan! I am obsessed and own 9 oversized cardigans in different colors/styles!
I am learning so much about proportion and style trends. I love your honesty and your candor, too. I'm 5'8" but in my 60s so not my young body anymore. Please be sure to let us tall ladies know if there is something that would not work proportionally, etc. Sometimes I'm not sure. Thank you for all your videos!
I loved this video, and I have 2 denim maxi skirts I am 5’3”, and I wear them with heeled booties, wedge sneakers, and even hiking boots. I always get compliments. 😊 My first time here, just started following.
Love look#3 with short pink sweater! The loafers look great as do the sneakers or ballet flat. The light brown wrap sweater was the best, but the brownish bomber jacket was awesome also. The color of your bag and bomber jacket in the browish color looked so nice on you, especially with your hair color. Really loved the black loafers with the black top. Cropped blazer was great and I loved the autumnal color!
I have a denim midi skirt with a flounce at the bottom that I love. I usually wear it in the summer only but you gave me some great ideas for wearing it in the fall and winter. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I personally think your maxi skirt should be shorter or have the split in the front. When you pulled up the skirt, everything looked better. I have a maxi skirt that I have had for years that has a split in the back, but the style allows me to put split in front which REALLY helps. I'm VERY short.( 4' 10")
I too found the maxi length to be ‘too much of a good thing’ and preferred the midi look when she pulled up the maxi to reveal her footwear at about 11:00.
Love the styling ideas which translate to other “bottoms”!!! My only negative is, seeing the skirt bunched up in the crotch area, to me that means the skirt needs to sit higher on the waist, or “the rise” is too long on the person wearing it.
@@gailwilliams5278or you could shorten by one or two inches but Definitely a bit of ankle showing .....it give more shape rather than looking like you're shuffling round in a burka type garment which is made to hide the body..... midi length does not flatter every one .....makes me look shorter ...but lots of ladies do look really good in this length ....😊👍🏻
I have all the pieces in the cardigan look and the bomber jacket look. Most of these looks are in our closets, I do. Thanks for the ideas. I don’t like the ballet flats. Not my style. I am 5’2”. So I love your style. My Moto jkt. is green faux suede, so it’s a pop of color.
Have been denim skirt shopping lately, and deciding on whether to return to the maxi jean skirt that I wore during 2004-2006 with flats, boots, and a belt with the top inside the skirt. I'm plus size lady now, so I'll be very aware of what will look better with my height (5'9), and most importantly, something that lenghtenx5 my waistline as I am short waisted.
I use to always wear a light blue denim jacket with my denim! I Loved it, and it looked great too! And sneakers or boots or loafers worked well with it!! The jacket was about 28-29 inches long. Hit me about the top of my hips.
I just got a denim skirt very similar to yours, but mine has the slit in the front so this was fun to watch. I found that no matter what you were pairing the skirt with, the most flattering looks were when you were wearing ankle boots, especially the pointed toe. I didn't like any of the clunky loafers, for me it made the outfits look heavy and more frumpy (and I love a good lug loafer with jeans and trousers) and I definitely did not like it at all with the socks (with the Mary Janes I got weird Wicked Witch vibes) I have seen the socks with loafers with jeans and since that is a look from my childhood I can get into that, but I didn't like it at all with the skirt. I love all your styling videos, you gave me some great ideas. I will be wearing my L.L Bean cream fisherman sweater with my skirt tomorrow 🙂
I am beyond thrilled with the way you styled the socks 😊! I rely on tights a lot this time of year but socks are easier and keep my feet warmer. My midi and maxi denim skirts are going to get a workout this season. Thank you Jamie
Loved this video! I didn’t know Maxi denim skirts were back “in” but now I want one. I reviewed all of the skirt links you provided and didn’t spot the version you modeled in the video. I, too, would prefer a narrower hem and the slit up the back. Can you share the link to the one you wore? Thank you!
I am going multiple places in a day and I am planning on wearing my denim skirt with a blazer. This confirmed my metal picture of the look. Loving my denim skirt and I will be 70 in a couple months.
I just thrifted a great denim skirt in a medium-wash, maxi length. I'm a tad over 5'3" and I can't decide if I should hem it. It currently lands at the bottom of my ankle bone or 1.5" from the floor. Looking for opinions from anyone on the ideal length? Another option is to hem it to midi length. Ugh! Confused.
I think you should try it on with the shoes you plan on wearing with it and see what you like the best with those. If you are 5'3" you are just an inch shorter than me. I have a maxi and a midi length. I really think it is personal preference and how you think it looks on you.
Being from Tennessee in the Bible belt , the denim maxi skirt kinda reminds me of what evangelical women wear. Nothing wrong with that but not for me. Love your videos ❤
The purses throw off these look’s because we didn’t carry big bags when this look was in style in the 90’s. The small crossover bags give the right proportion. Back then we did wear loafers but not the anklets with the long skirt. We wore pantyhose. I think these maxi denim skirts are accidents waiting to happen because we are used to walking more quickly and get tangled up in so much fabric. Trust me . Been there.
I’m 5.1 and tried a few- I hate this look to the ankle! Too much fabric and it just looks overwhelming. I like Jean skirts to the shin beneath the knee
The skrt looks really good with the fisherman knit sweater front tucked with the belt. Big no to the black boots. I think the skirt looks much better with the lighter colored boots outfits. The black boots just look frumpy to me. The moto jacket works but I don't like the look of a regular blazer with a maxi denim skirt. The cropped blazer though was very cute with the skirt.
I liked most of them except a white sock and a Mary Jane; too juvenile. All of the boots looked really good. Fly London and similar styles would look good as well as a clog.
I was looking at the maxi denim skirts but so fearful to try them because I’m petite…thank you!! This really helped. I know it’s a trend and may not last more than another year or two but I love the look. I’m so conservative but this just brought out the hippie in me. So I’m going to jump in and keep it tailored, and make the look mine, I have a cropped faux fur that I can add on top to give it a glam look but keep my cashmere sweaters slim fitting and tucked. My clogs/and heeled boots will give it some height Again thank you.❤
Plain white T-shirts don't look good at all. There are all kinds of skinny looking tops with turtle necks, which look so much better. T's are more fit for nightwear.
I’m 77 years old and have worn denim Maxie’s and white sneakers for years, and didn’t even know I was fashion forward.
me too!!
Thanks for the video. I got a denim maxi skirt with a front slit and I think those look better with the knee high boot or cowboy boot. I do think the cropped jackets made you look taller.
Mary Jane's are nice! I really think it's a personal preference that works for each individual! Looking forward to more of your videos! Thank You!!
I love the socks and loffers on you.. I'm going to try it , because of this video! You are always an inspiration!! Thank you for being YOU 💗
Love the maxi skirts. I own two- one light and one dark. Great ideas on ways to style them. Thank you!
Such a fun video, and I can tell you had fun making it.😊 I have a midi denim skirt that I think will work with some of the looks you styled. Thanks for showing the sock trend! Oh, and the cardigan front-tuck was genius! Thanks, Jamie! ❤

OK great! I think you tall ladies can wear just about anything!
@@YourGuideToStylenot sure about that ......being tall is not just about height and you don't what to look long and shapeless 🤔
5'2 here! So good to see this as i have a fitted A line line black denim maxi skirt which I love. Good tips to follow.
Love your looks! Thanks for showing the denim maxi skirt.
I loved this video, and I have 2 denim maxi skirts I am 5’3”, and I wear them with heeled booties, wedge sneakers, and even hiking boots. I always get compliments. 😊 My first time here, just started following.
Thank you for subscribing! I'm glad to hear that you wear maxi skirts at your height! It sounds like you style them very well! 😊

Can’t believe how much better the pointy toe boots look with a maxi skirt vs loafers or ballet flats. Really keeps it from looking frumpy.
Thank you for the video! I absolutely love skirts but only 5’2 so this is super helpful!
I have a denim midi skirt with a flounce at the bottom that I love. I usually wear it in the summer only but you gave me some great ideas for wearing it in the fall and winter. Thank you!
Great styling. Thanks for posting. Yes, not good with loafers! I love the ballet wrap outfit and the black blazer is what I would wear regularly.
You are so welcome!
I love your channel!
I Love loafers with a Maxie denim skirt! I thought they looked just as well as the ankle boots! But love this video! Thank You!!
Thank you for this video. I can’t wait to style mine with your ideas in mind!❤

I'm 4'11 I bought a maxi and had to cut a lot off the length, I could of made a mini with the left overs 😂

Hi Jaime. I love your moto jacket! Will you please link that below this video, too? I didn't see it here.

¡Que bueno!!! Me acabo de pedir la maxi falda de Free People tal como la quería sin aperturas ❤🎉🥰👏🏼 en hora buena. Un abrazo desde Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🇺🇸❤️
I love most outfits. Love the blazers. Can you tell me where your brown cropped blazer is from? It is lovely! Thanks for the tips
I am going multiple places in a day and I am planning on wearing my denim skirt with a blazer. This confirmed my metal picture of the look. Loving my denim skirt and I will be 70 in a couple months.
I style mine with blazers more often than cardigans. Dressy casual look.
Hate the socks. Love the black top‼️
Thanks!
Could you tell me what brand is your black handbag with the blazers?
So informative ❤❤❤
Glad you think so! Thanks!

@@YourGuideToStyle Thanks for replying! I'm an indecisive person lol. I'll wear it as is and then see how I feel about it
The longer cardigans look frumpy unless paired with a short skirt. With the maxi or midi a short cardigan looks a whole lot better.
Hi do you have a link for the large black bag? I looks nice 😊
Here is the link and it's the Vera. www.teddyblake.com/?rfsn=6763169.dc4da5
I want to wear my cowboy boots and plaid shirt with my maxi skirt. Would that be still on trend?
Hi Jamie! I'm 67, 5'2" and a size 10. Can't wear a heel of any sort. Would a midi Jean skirt work better than a maxi?
I would say that it would!
The big beige blazer looks better with a shorter pencil skirt, can even be below the knees a bit. Long blazer with maxi looks frumpy.
The second outfit a pointed toe flat or kitten heel pointed toe slingback would have worked too❤
Great idea!!
It looks good on curvy tall slim woman only
My sisters and I all wear long maxi skirts and we don’t do loafers. : )

I love the looks but feel like a belt would pull it together better!!!
Thanks!
My advice for 5'& below DON'T WEAR A MAXI‼️
I might agree with you there if you are below 5'!
Good info
Too much dialog
Denim midi skirt not maxi is the answer.
I like to watch your videos but if you talking more essential will be much better my opinion
Socks with sandals/shoes are for little girls not grown women. Definitely a NO from me
