And then were surprised when our economy takes an immediate hit after it was signed. South Africa needs investors to feel like they’re investing in a stable economy. How can they feel secure when something as ridiculous as this is signed into law? WAKE UP SOUTH AFRICA! When has the ANC done anything that benefited us as a nation?
I can't remember ever hearing about a land dispute for a school or hospital development. Farmers actually give land in rural parts for the building of schools. the only time land was expropriated was for the building of a dam. Dams can't be build anywhere, the good off the masses are more important than the good off the few or the one. The polititions wants to take the land to rent it back to you and make money off your hard work.
I watched an interview recently with the minister of public works in Kwazulu-Natal. he said his 1st step in office was to do an audit of what properties the department actually owns. apparently they've been discovering 100's of properties, of all different kinds, the department previously didn't even know It owned. That's one department, in one Province, if we carry that logic across all departments, across all Provinces, it paints a pretty grim picture. The Govt wants to make a noise about expropriation, because its an easy lighting rod for support, but we don't know how much land its sitting on currently that could be distributed without the need for compensation. We don't know because they don't even know. Feels like this was a political smoke screen that wont go anywhere, and tensions will just continue to rise.
It's not "WITHOUT" compensation. It's with NIL compensation on some cases. This bill is just gaslighting, nothing we didn't have since 1975. We need a land reform bill!!!
@ColinPhillips-s5b without compensation means they can take your land for R0 rand in all instances. With NIL compensation in certain instances whereby the land is needed for public interest. This act is a cop out, it's for this greedy government and not for the people. We need a proper land reform bill.
@ “ needed for public use “ yeah right taking people of South Africa for poese so people must pay rates taxes water light bonds for 30 years for greedy government to take it at a whim
@@ColinPhillips-s5b well the country has to reform we have a 30 percent unemployment rate and legacy issues due to the economic massacre of apartheid. so how do we reform when 90% of the land that is commercialy viable is owned by a handfull of white families (not even all white people). they don't even use most of the land to create revenue for the country, they just sit on it. You also have mines that take our minerals and sell them oversees. Not one South African benefits from the current status quo. We need a change or a change will be thrusted upon us.
South African is moving slowly but surely. I respect what the President did. I think we must start working the land with the help of China and Russia will assist us with fertilisers. South Africans farmers believe that without them people will starve and they don't want to share skills with blacks. Whites Racists don't want change that can benefit black majority.
Moving slowly to o what ? Government taking your property and giving it to their family and girlfriends pls go study how economy works you being naive property is not gonna be shared or halo the poor government has already millions of hectare of land what are you thinking ?
Section 25 states that property can only be taken away for a public purpose or in the public interest, and if the state can prove or justify that expropriating without compensation is fair then it's constitutional.
You can say what you want , at the end of the day this bill gives them the power to take land , you justify it by saying guys don't stress they wont do it! Please ! But you are missing the biggest issue here ,Foreign investment ! Foreign investment will dry up because of this , taking money ,jobs and community initiatives out of South Africa affecting all with in SA but predominantly the poorest people in SA.
@@SibuAndSpheyou being naive and lack education look at history look at other countries look at those that thrive vs those that don’t property rights is right up there I’m disappointed by the lack of research done there is nothing like distributing land fairly 😂😂😂 so government girlfriends and families right

The ANC are not good for South Africa

This is how Zimbabwe went. Let's see, but I don't see it ending well. Imagine if it was your land?
Okay ,lets start than with Ramaphosa's land .
Thats so nice now more companies will leave South Africa.
That’s true

Correction: farming community.
The problem here is the constitution
What do you mean? It's the best constitution in the world 😂
@SibuAndSphe section 25 or something 🤔 it talks about the land
Section 25 states that property can only be taken away for a public purpose or in the public interest, and if the state can prove or justify that expropriating without compensation is fair then it's constitutional.
They are after the land under the ngonyama trust and ithala, look what is happening with ithala bank currently
That's an interesting theory
No they can not😂 Da has not signed😊
The Bill is already signed into law. The DA can only opposite it in the constitutional court

You are unfortunately right but SA will be fine if this bill is not abused
