Cambodia, which is a slave Siam knows this well. The downfall of the Jayavarman family occurred when the slaves rebelled. After the collapse, Thailand was able to attack at a later time.

Bullshit! This temple has been initiated by Luong Por Daeng, the abbot of the temple, based on the Panom Rung, Lavo and other prasarts in Thailand. It is nothing to do with Angkor Wat, which was in fact eatablished by Khoms, our Siamese anchester. Khmers in the past were ust slaves from Srivijaya and Champa recruited to build the Wat.

But Khattiya added the original inspiration came from the head monk, who, in a dream, saw himself in a past life as one of the troops who helped build the sprawling Angkor Wat complex, which dates back to the 12th century. “So when he entered the monkhood he would like to resume that,” he said.

@@endlessjourneytravels ... The translation might be imprecise. It should be "...in order to show people as to how to build a stone pasat like Phimai, Phanom Rung, Angkor Wat, etc." It is nothing to do with the Angkor Wat. We Thai are proud of ourselves and hate copycats like Khmer people - poor and less educated.
