The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. In this case, the very short line between ur temple and inner eye socket. It went completely into his temple which leaves it resting in his eye

“Beast beneath the boards” may have two meanings. Meleys but then also Blood and Cheese. Especially when those 2 characters affect Helaena’s whole future, more so than Meleys appearance at the dragon pit.
I still have a huge hunch that it has to do with the Smallfolk’s revolt

In the trailer for episode 10 on the bridge to Dragonstone Rhaenyra is holding a parchment that is the page torn out of the book Rhaenyra ripped out beneath the tree. Alicent sent it as a sign of good will with the terms of surrender
I think Aegon takes the walk to the same melody (just a march variation) that was used for Alicent entering the throne roon in a green dress, not the Viseris' one from the last episode. I assume it's the "Greens" theme now, as it was all over this entire episode in bits and pieces.

Criston did really became a bad blood. I mean, even his loyalty with Rhaenyra was eventually changed. After all those years? It's like they never bonded.
I think the beast beneath the board is more referring to the overarching problem with the Targaryen family than the literal dragons in the dragon pit.
This episode makes me sad when I realise the season is ending. I was truly taken aback at the ending!EPIC episode!

Love the symbolism how the Red Queen (Meyles) leaves the Red Keep....showing that the Targerian cigel has no more red....only Gold ..
I never thought of that actually. It shows the symbolism of the high towers and the targerayans becoming combined and the end of sole targ power
The firefly sigil is likely related to Larys’ penchant for arson.
And also because he’s kind of like a fly on the wall of sorts.

Modern readers/watchers are kinda confused about The White Worm’s nickname-they mistake it as a put-down. I think GRRM probably means it in the Old English sense, when Wyrm was an interchangeable term for serpents and other dragonlike creatures in Old English poetry, so she’s a white dragon in this story of dragons of many colors (this is not the first time GRRM has used Old English in ASOIAF-I believe that “warg” is also taken from Old English, but my Old English is super rusty, and I won’t be offended if someone corrects me on this one). As for my source for White Worm/Wyrm, please see Ken Russell’s wonderful movie, which explores the sexual and historical context better than I can here. Y’all should just see that movie anyway.
This episode feels like a spiritual successor to season 6 episode 10 (the winds of winter) not quite as good but still slaps none the less

"Beware the beast beneath the boards" I believe is a warning to the rats. A ratcather, known as cheese, alines with the blacks and know all the nooks and cranys around the red keep. He's later one of the assassins that holds one of Alicants (sp?) Children hostage and ultimately kills one. I believe this is a warning to this brutal slaying.
Helena is definitely my type. Would smash......that like button....again and again!

The whole story so far is packed full of moments which, had they gone another way, would have stopped the Dance and probably would have led to the Targs continuing on and ruling forever. The fact that it was a dream sent to Viserys that triggered everything, isn't lost on me. If he hadn't had that prophetic dream, he wouldn't have pushed for a son, his wife would have survived and the Hightowers wouldn't have become such power players. Makes you wonder if the gods did this, small consequential nudges to ensure the end of the Targ dynasty.

Anyone know why Heleana was staring at Aegon just before he was crowned then looked away as he was being crowned?
I think the "beast beneath the boards" refers to the rats and by extension Blood and Cheese. But it most definitely could've been the dragon.
As a non book reader I had a feeling that end scene was not in the book. I didn’t like it personally. Would have had it ended with the sword raise. That’s just me though.
The foo feti$h scene is an excellent illustration: media doesn't have to have gratuitous se*ual violence in order to be transgressive & feel like a gross violation. The interaction between Larys and Alicent was not consensual, it was deeply uncomfortable to watch. That's enough to sell the idea it was Not Ok. Maybe it's a weird thing to offer praise for, but I appreciate the nuanced approach.
TL;DR you don't need to go full Tarintino when filming SA, trust your storytelling and actors enough to sell the SVU part of the script.

Beast beneath the boards was not a reference to the ending. That comes into play later in the series.
Yeah I don't get how people think it's that obvious. For one, there were no boards, it was stone.
