The entertainment value of these is off the rails! Thanks
There are moments in every one of these covers where Ken Marino absolutely nails the feeling of the original vocals without sounding like he's trying to imitate the original singer. I love that.
I really like the way the band is obviously enjoying the performance.
46 years later... Me: "Oh, those are the lyrics!". Thanks for enunciating, Ken!
No kidding....I thought the same thing!!! Haha
Orangey sky? lol. Ive been singing Stormy sky....
I used to sing shocking innocence and also broken alibi. Lol now I know the true lyrics, ty.
i approve of and agree with and laugh about this great comment!
It's such a middle aged dad move to enunciate Rock lyrics that were previously unintelligible.
This channel is a breath of fresh air. And ditto those who have been singing the wrong lyrics for 40+ years.
The greatest Cars song no one talks about! Benjamin Orr was epic.
Bass player is killing it
I came in to say the same thing! The rhythm section is LIT!
Sweet Teddy P.!
I thought it was just me!
💯
amazing musicianship aside, whoever is mixing these is PERFECT.
I feel like Lido Shuffle would be great for Ken’s vocal range
Wuthering Heights would probably kill him.
This and long cool women in a black dress
Yeah I requested it on another video. Ken would on Lido
Lido shuffle... 😂 I haven't heard that in decades... 😂
Why is the keyboardist an off brand Paul Schaffer? Living that middle aged life to the max, love to see it.
I did a double take myself!
I was this many years old when I found out Ken Marino has a really good voice.
Check out Scenes from an Italian Rest. Surreal.
@@brianmahler4641 IKR? He sounds so much like Billy Joel in that song; I almost thought he was cheating
Come on and party tonight!
@@adamkane4217 classic 😂😂😂😂
Michael is really dipping his balls into this band with all these awesome covers!
If you guys keep doing this you could be famous.
Chicago-25 or 6 to 4 would be dope. But I’m just enjoying anything you guys put out
i second this!
I’d also like to hear Toto. Any song will do.
@@williamhilinsky1327 Pamela - the horns!
The mix is just right, all instruments can be heard clearly. Guitar is rockin'. Finally realized Ken is from the great series 'Reaper'. Thank you for your great acting. I kind of expected Ray Wise to pop up from behind the coach.
I fully expect Michael Ian Black to show up in one of these with a tambourine. I never saw The State, but I often saw those two either guesting together or on each other's shows.
my favorite 'cars' song. done well.
I mix for Greg Hawkes with Eddie Japan live. Can’t wait to show this to Greg. Keyboard solo is great. He’s gonna love it. 🤘
OMG that's incredible - let us know if he sees!
Keep your requests coming !!
GIVE. US. ICEHOUSE. The world needs more "Electric Blue."
Dad.. former singer here… Silent Lucidity would be Awesomeness..!!!!!
Vehicle by Ides of March
I think you guys would do a great job with a Huey Lewis & the News song.
You guys need to cover My Sharona!!
All the Genxrs bringing it back!
This is the best damn shit in freaking years! Cover band or no, its still amazing. Talent everywhere, and very charismatic..we want more!
Request: One Thing Leads to Another, by the Fixx!
Just discovered this channel yesterday - I AM OBSESSED!
Bass player is killing it! So good!
I like it. Not trying to perfectly recreate the studio recording, though much of it is very close. Leaving room for their own spin on the song. Very well executed and enjoyable. Oh, and thanks for clearing up lyric mysteries that have haunted me for 45+ years.
I need a Turn Me Loose - Loverboy cover from you guys. I immediately picture Ken Marino running from Joe Lo Truglio everytime I hear that song. Seeing him sing it would bring it all full circle.
Seeing these videos pop up on my feed has been the highlight of the day for me every week. Keep them coming!
The Cars! My favorite band back in the day. They were so good!
First two albums kicked ass! Didn’t particularly care for their pop-ie turn later, but what a band…
@@kkchristy Panorama is a love it or hate it album. Definitely far more quirky but the song Panorama, Gimme Some Slack, Touch and Go etc…
For my whole life I thought the lyrics were “just a broken alibi”. It’s lullaby? 👍🏻 nice 😎
Right there with you
I thought it was "just a perfume alibi"
The original vinyl came with printed lyrics, so I know them well.
Not enough brass in music today.. I never knew how much I missed the random saxophone or trumpet in songs til I run into them again. Great job!
ruclips.net/video/60ruvzfXQoE/видео.html here is a song i like with some sax from a contemporary group, courtesy of sax man Tima Capello who was in Lost Boys
@@cheetabrad that was a hell of a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Lots of nostalgia thrown in as well.. thanks for the link!
Brass is the new cowbell.
There are tons of great lesser-known bands out there playing with horns today. Here are a handful:
Call Me Malcolm - ruclips.net/video/8poMewsVIoY/видео.html
Half Past Two - ruclips.net/video/DK27vk_MlHA/видео.html
Millington - ruclips.net/video/0gh5xKuMHQ8/видео.html
Jeff Rosenstock - ruclips.net/video/EF-ihKb--c8/видео.html
Brass is a big reason why I like Ska, Men At Work, Split Enz, and Oingo Boingo. Brass just really does it for me.
Band full of musicians who shred, love it!
They've been playing this a lot on local radio lately, and I just recently realized that the Cars were New Wave pretty much before everyone else.
I'd like to think that somewhere Ben and Ric watched this together and loved it.
❤
Steely Dan - Reelin’ In the Years seems like it would be a good one for this group to cover.
I have been trying to figure out who he sings like. It finally came to me... Puddles Pity Party. That's not a diss that cat can sing too.
He’s the best seven foot tall singing Aussie clown out there.
Love Puddles
I had to think about that for a sec, but you’re right!
Amazing you got Paul Shaffer to play keys for one of the best covers of this song
Can't they just let Ken enjoy his drink??
If Huey Lewis were the front man of The Cars.
drummer nailing those beautiful Dave Robinson parts, nice!
nothing to improve on those parts !
Ken really benefited from those theater classes at summer camp!
excellent!! how about something from the Talking Heads??
I didn’t know he could sing. He is so funny in the movies he is in. Eastbound and down
One of my absolute favorites by The Cars. This was Benjamin Orr at his best!
These guys are good.
You guys are killing it.
Nice! How about some .38 Special next? Maybe Caught Up in You or Hold on Loosely? Also, Ken's voice reminds me of early 2000's Elton John, it's great!
I remember when The Cars were considered New Wave. Now this music is considered Classic Rock. Thank you for keeping Classic Rock alive. ===> Life's The Same I'm Moving In Stereo.
And right under this in my RUclips feed? The Cars doing Moving in Stereo on The Midnight Special.
Strong "I'm only doing this because Dad won't shut up about it, and mom is away with Husband Number New this weekend" energy from the sax player.
I love The Cars and this is one of my favorite songs of theirs. You guys friggin nailed it. So good
Great.....now I gotta wear my collars up.....New Wave Hair Cut.....and RayBans.......and some Checkered White Sneakers.....Dude.....you're so in there!
Great players.
Loving it. It's like you guys have tapped into the soundtrack of my life. You've done Benjamin Orr and the Cars proud.
Tighter than a really really tight thing. Brilliant.
dudes, well done! oh and you should give your sound guy a bow at the end, tight, balanced mix...
SWEET TEDDY P!!!! KILLING IT!
It's getting pretty funky in the BASSment!
David Wain with the Gemspa shirt. Nice
Egg Creams!
omg....the song choices and execution is just..just...great? thanks you silly nuttballz!
These covers are absolute FIRE.
And they say there are no more heroes, love you guys!!!!
Brings back great memories! Saw the Cars in Central Park touring for their first album and then again at Roseland on their last tour.
Excellent rendition! Loved it! 👍🏻🍻💙😎
I’m so happy I found this. Fantastic performances! @MADJBand, please do a cover of “Summer of 69”! The Born to Run cover was awesome, and I know you’d rock the Bryan Adams’ song.
fun
One of the best openings to any music video.
Awesome, as always
Howie Mandel killin it on the keys
I was thinking Paul Schaeffer
excellent
I just discovered this channel. The performance is so near to the original it is uncannily accurate. Looks like I have some binge watching to do. 🎶 🎼 😊
And here I have been, since this song was released, thinking it’s just a “fucking alibi.”
I want to jam with you guys.
Who expected them to play Moving in Stero next?
So good!
"Middle Aged Dad Jam Band + Neighbor Kid on Sax" :-) Seriously, this is one of my all-time fave songs and the cover sounds amazing!
Amazing job by everyone! The only thing missing from the original is that the toms aren't ten times louder than everything else in the mix
Oh, it’s magic.
This is so awesome!!!
Great cover. Can't wait to hear more.
Love the tone on that Hofner. Amazing as always, guys.
The bass player is just killing it on this one
I feel the appreciation for the music. I'm with you.. Thank you
This is my favorite out of all your videos. I'm probably 10 of the 42k views you have on this so far haha. I'd love to sit in on this (and play that wonderful Hofner)!
I hope there are more songs coming! These covers are very entertaining and they're really good! If you keep it up, you guys are gonna have to start selling MADJB merch! (hint, wink)
We gotta get jack black on here!
Yes!! Definitely!!!!
YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!! What an amazing epiphany @alecklecky! Count my vote too, MADJB!
Why? He's too much of a ham and will distract from the band.
This is serious, we can't have jokesters like that here.
@@GoodNeighborJon heck yeah 🤘🏼
Thanks, guys! You're putting a huge smile on this middle-aged dad's face!
Love Franks whole vibe.
One of my favorite songs. Beautifully done.
Holy shit, this is great.
Another song … nailed it! 😊👍🏻👍🏻
I cannot tell you how happy I am I found this channel. I’m freaking sad it took so long but yay! I’m here!
❤ I have complete and total garage envy.
Do Moving in Stereo!
Perfect. Make sure to get that nap in first.
Love these guys
Why do i now need "Moving in Stereo"?
Well done Gentleman! My favorite Cars song. 👍
Wain is a good drummer.
Had to look to see who was killing it on Bass, not surprising with a name like Sweet Teddy P.
The joke at the end of the video 😂 nice
Well done! Wish you had gone right into Moving in Stereo tho'...
You guys are absolutely amazing!! Such a great surprise! This would be a great show catch live.
Good job on knocking this Cars song out. Liked
I think that Kenny Marino on vocals is a good fit. He has a good vocal range and stage presence. I could see him singing some Roxy Music.
Keep it real!
I bought this album yesterday because of you guys. You nailed it.
That was just yet another killer cover as good as the original
Wow, this made my Friday! Thank you!
