i also had wheel cover in my cbr 250r on both wheel, last year i met with an accident on a flyover, i made it out alive, accident was due to wheel cover on front wheel as we go on high speed the stability of bike decreases due to heavy wind pressure, i am happy for you that you are removing wheel cover on front wheel, wheel cover on back wheel is not a big deal as wind pressure doesn't affect bike from back.
