Having no idea that you might influence the outcome, you hoped for the better. There is a difference between blind optimism and genuine hope. Furthermore, although hope doesn't seem to have any value at all logically, humans are not logical animals. No matter how rational or sensible you may think yourself to be, hope is nevertheless useful because without it, improbable successes and surprising turns for the better would never happen since everyone would quit up as soon as circumstances appeared to be getting worse. People act because they have hope. The desire to have something happen is not unlike the hope to have something happen.
@harp_0912 I get where you're coming from, and I agree hoping for a better tomorrow is a part of being human, but it's only acceptable when the source of the emotion is effort
I think the point is not to drop hope totally but to be able to discern the grounded hope that is realistic and reasonable from the toxic or cruel version of hope that assumes everyone should and can afford to want the same things.
Yo thank you once you pointed out the contradiction between your beliefs and actions my brain just clicked, figured it out and as if my headache went away. Thanks
What an amazing story telling and it also made me think about my life ,ADHD people always use and need this kind of last minute or chance in order to accomplish some tasks
And how contagious emotions are explained why all of a sudden people told me that my social skills suck. I've always been weird but was fun to be around. People told me that my social skills suck once I had a period of depression that made me hate others around me for some reason. Even though i was acting exactly the same, people caught my depression and anxiety virus and thought i was a weirdo
@h.e4795 I'm glad to hear that, I want to say that I believe if you are proud of the person you are then no one else's opinion should weigh you down (I could be wrong tho)
