- No part of me believes that Dr. Tony Evans is anything less than a good man. I believe the real truth is he HAD to step down to protect his legacy and the ministry from being dragged through a public scandal that could get messy. Stepping down creates talk but it could be worse. I hope Evans enjoy the rest of his life. He deserved retirement anyway #LarryReidLive #LarryReid #LRLers

His marriage is suspect. Why are there Christmas pics but no wedding pics and why get married near the death anniversary of both late spouses? That is savage. How do you even ask your kids and loved ones to attend a wedding at such a time? Why was the ceremony rushed unless they knew things were about to come out? If he didn't want anyone in his business he could have retired quietly and left his legacy intact. Make it make sense somewhere.

I’m curious how does it work if something is Biblically a sin and we lay in refusing to give it up vs struggling thru it are we Biblically fit to be in that position? Secular teachers aren’t under the same parameters as believers, I don’t understand her analogy of teachers. One has worldly standards the other Biblical.

What he did makes sense when you know his ministry. The fact that he hasn't shared what the issue was upsets some people because they want to know what it is so they can compare, condemn and judge.
He has handled this situation based on the same Biblical principles and standards he taught and owes none of us an explanation. But those of us in the Body of Christ owe it to him to pray for him and his family for restoration and strength.
So he doesn't owe an explanation, but we owe it to him to pray for him?

As part of the Christian community, I think this is a teaching moment for his followers. I believe he may have been intimate with his now wife prior to marriage. He is an honorable man, and I will leave it up to Jesus to judge him, either way. This Tony Evans "sin" issue is as bad as the Princess Kate illness. It's nobody's business but Jesus and his elders.

Suddenly you feel convicted enough to still use the Bible in your reasoning to sit down? Not just to tell, but the sin is still bad enough that you have to sit down 2day, years later and STILL need restoration...So the preaching/teaching after was done under what/whom? There would not be a sitting down if not threatened by sumth or sum1..it took "several" meetings so he still did not sit down on his own volition.
