What a beautiful, beautiful town. No matter how many times I visit the UK and Ireland my mind still boggles at the buildings from the 1400s. Still beautiful, well maintained and fully functioning in their new (or continued) use.
of course, they remain because they were built for a time without power, without reliable water, etc. they are extremely efficient and they show their value in times of crisis.
Hello Memory Seekers, thanks for views of such a cosy town, it was a great pleasure to hear your voice again and enjoy ancient architecture of your native Motherland, to learn more about history of your country, music is also so soothing, good luck in your work and life, merry Christmas😄🎄🎁❄🎅
Thank you! This made for a perfect tea break in the madness leading up to the holidays. What a pretty and charming town-- and I see you are about to share your visit to Wells, my favourite place in the south-west. I wish you both a very Happy Christmas. I'm looking forward to more of your travels in the New Year.
Don't find it so. The streets are disproportionately narrow, all the houses stuck together in single unbroken rows, no front gardens, no pretty fences around the properties. Everything that makes a town charming is missing.
I always admire the way you combine words and beautiful images. I usually watch your videos when I need some quality time in the middle of the day. Great video as usual. Cheers.
Yes. The commentary is always interesting and informative, yet soothing. I was wondering if "King John's Hunting Lodge" might be a sly, and possibly contemporaneous, reference as wool merchants were not generally well liked for pricing practices. Could it have been his prey were the locals, who responded with the name?
Thanks so much for a beautiful video and all the work you did to bring it to us!! A charming little town id love to visit someday if I ever make it across the Pond. I love that they put the blue plaques on some of the properties so 1 can read what it used to be or who lived there in days gone by. And that some of the property's exteriors were take back to their middle ages wood beams look! ❤❤
Another brilliant vid, Gents! As always...well researched, written, and professionally made. The highlight of my Saturday! If I don't post again before the 25th-Happy Christmas to you both🎄❤
I am afraid to say i put the Irish Lilly next to the Heart I had designed and John Patrick Hughes was furious with me for the connection’ but I insisted it was a mark of peace and reunification of both countries and his Tourettes subsided because he adored me for my transparency and clarity ☮️❤️🥰🙏
Thanks for showing us another beautiful and historic town. The church is magnificent. It would be lovely to wander the streets and contemplate the many generations who lived in the town.
While I could never live in a house where my front door opened directly onto the road, these charming homes are so interesting in their variety. I love how they have evolved over the centuries, and in true British form, the history of so many has been noted for future generations. In America, there are too many places where the houses all look the same. Lovely to see you again (I'll have to catch up on Cheddar Gorge...anything named after cheese has got to be good, lol!) I adore the church on the hill, though I agree that the bright(!) green water does not tempt. Cheers my good fellows!
As always a very informative and interesting video. We visited Axbridge over 8 years ago so thank you for reminding us what a lovely Town Axbridge is and it's history. We absolutely love your videos and the amount of information you give regarding each location you visit . Love your choice of music for each individual videos. Keep up the good work. 😊
How beautiful was that. A perfect jigsaw puzzle town. I couldn’t live like that I enjoy a big yard. Perfect place to go to, I would love to. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
Well you blokes never disappoint what a lovely place. All the buildings looked so well cared for too. My husbands grandparents came from a little Somerset town called Wootton so its nice to see this part of England. Cheers Cheryl 🙂
What Ho, Gents? Another brilliant video! Such a charming town. Thank you for all the delightful sights and history - one almost feels immersed. I am with my fellow North American: I would have one of those Choate House flats in an instant, depending upon the cost, of course. Happy Christmas to you both and all your loved ones. Cheers!
Once again thanks for the tour. Thanks for researching the inhabitants, that gives the the town character. It always astounds me the beautiful workmanship in the churches. I really enjoy wandering around towns with you both. Have a lovely Christmas =-)
I loved the video 😊 beautiful houses with different colors & lots of history is quite interesting 👍 peaceful streets ofcourse. Thanks for sharing & waiting for more wonderful videos
Memory seekers! Your videos warm my soul!! I would love to see one of the Lake District, Beatrix Potter home. If you have already done one if you could link it. I could not find one. If you haven’t that it just a suggestion. Keep these videos coming!
From across the pond, Holiday Greetings ! Such an enchanting, historical, charming town ! I'd live there in a heartbeat if I could ! Do you know how much those flats go for ? Just curious. Ah, still can dream. Thank you for your coverage.
Thank you for a beautifully presented video. I loved the gentle walk and the informative guide and introduction to its history and architecture. The whole thing - just perfect. I’m looking forward to Wells. Have a great Christmas.
Hello Simon / Will , this was top class love this place I have never been there but after seeing your walk around i found it so interesting its on my list . Thank you both and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to many more of your wonderful videos.
Merry Christmas guys, thanks for all your beautiful videos during 2024, wishing you both and your famalies a very special New Year and i cannot wait to see your videos in 2025
Hola !!
A lovely little town . A good location near the A38 road 🛣️ Maybe I will become a neighbour to James Heappey MP in London and the Somerset town of Axbridge with his wife Kate and two children.
I been present in that beautiful church as I had a habit of leaving a Faith Hope Charity , calling card ‘ in every church or Cathedral I visited in England, and others like Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu , card was not printed when I visited The VATICAN in ROME many years before when my daughter Faith Hope Charity was baptised in the water troff I found outside so I blessed her myself with water 💧
A fascinating and well researched vid. Sadly it was notable that many of the homes were obviously converted from commercial premises. With the exception of a few enterprises this beautiful town has become a dormitory like so many similar towns and villages.
A stones throw away from The Tor in Glastonbury, where we will meet again with ARLA who is yet to give birth to Chucky ( Tiocfaidh ár lá. ) He was such a romantic commander who would bow his knee to no man but gentle as a lamb 🐑
A few years ago we visited Cheddar Gorge. The natural gorge itself was spectacular and well worth the visit but we found it hideously over commercialised. If only we had known that this quaint town was just down the road, it would've been a great place to stop.
Everyone seems to love these little old towns but I personally don't find them all that charming. The streets are disproportionately narrow, all the houses are lumped together in an unbroken line and there are no front gardens or even lawns, no fences around the property. Not particularly attractive imo.

I think the cheese was named after the area where it was originally made, and is still produced, not the other way around!
What a fantastic advert for Axbridge ... I am biased as I live here but it is an absolute gem of a place. Great video and narrative :)

Another job well done. Appreciate your videos 😊
Thank you very much!
This tiny town looks like film set. So unreal. So magical. 💌
Yes it does a little! 😊
My cousin and her husband took my wife and I to Lamb's Inn and St. John the Baptist Church in September 2018. Some of our ancestors lived in Axbridge.
Please never stop, I love you videos

There is a website in the uk called 'Rightmove' you can search on that.

Yes, this is a good observation and a sad state of affairs across the country.
❤🤩👋👍
😮❤
Merry Christmas Memory Seekers. i hope you do a video on the life of Rev w Awdry, the Author behind Thomas the tank engine.
Merry Christmas, I will make a note of it but don't really know much about him or what is possible to show in a video but will have a think!
Where do people who live in these streets park their cars? Great video as usual from you guys.
Where ever they can. Other side streets or in the town square.
Such pristine dwellings, but one major flaw: it should have all this asphalt replaced with cobblestones.
😎
❤👍🇨🇦

These ‘ calling cards ‘ can be found in many churches ⛪️
That street is TOO cozy. Too tight for autos and pedestrians together. Where do the cars get parked?
