- I looked at my pile of action figures and decided to choose a Star Wars figure first. You knew I would! But let's take a look at the Tamashii Nations S.H. Figuarts Star Wars: Attack of the Clone Padmé Amidala. Great, great figure. So good it makes me like other figures more.

That last shot of Anakin and Padme together is very sweet. If I bought both, that's how I'd display them.
Yeah, I surprised myself with that shot.
I don't have Anakin so I display her with Vader in that pose. Very sad and cringey as you might imagine.

I think it's more the buyers paying the price FROM scalpers is insane.
This figure is worth whatever the customer is willing to pay.
Crazy that this is the first time we have gotten Padme in the 6" scale.
I know, for such a pivotal character in the prequels and as many costumes as she had you'd think companies would be mining the hell out of it. But nope.
I wish this was the version we got in the Black Series

What a happiness it's to open RUclips and see your favourite figure channel has uploaded a review of your favourites character! I've been always complaining because I think Lucasfilm always tries to avoid Padmé in toys at least in the last 10 years. Of course, in prequel era there was a lot but nowadays it's difficult to find...
I was very happy to see that Figuarts was releasing this but unfortunatley I'm poor guy and even though she's my favourite... I can't buy it, maybe someday in ebay or something like that. I'm very happy you liked it Robo! It's indeed, if not the best, one the best Padmé ever to date. Nice review as always!
Thanks man, I really appreciate the kind words! Yeah, this Padme, even being the only 6-inch scale one out there at the moment, sets a super high bar for all future Padmes. That doesn't mean I don't want more, I do, but this one is going to be hard to beat.
Great review! SHF always look better in person than the photos. I got a last minute alert from My Kombini that she was available for pre-order in May (someone must have cancelled) and glad I pulled trigger at $68 (same thing happened with with Anakin in April). Would have regretted later on and probably made an impulse buy at $150. "What a racket" is exactly right.
Agree with you on the lack of window. Sometimes a botched head can leave a sour taste in your mouth. Just searched everywhere to find this figure for a decent price after this review. Fortunately a good buddy of mine in NY was able to snag some, and confirmed they all had great paint apps. Just wanted to say thanks for what you do, Robo! Can't wait to get my articulated icon figures.

My blaster handle was super loose, I ended up gluing it closed so now it's permanently attached to the trigger hand.. oh well it might come off again if I pull hard enough. Anyway she's an amazing figure and looks really nice on display!
I'm with you, gluing it. I don't see any reason to ever pull it out of that hand so might as well.

She's a great looking figure imo. The face looks pretty close. But for that price tag?.. sheesh... that's heavy lol

I was thinking of gluing the two pistol parts together too but I wanted to be sure before doing it because it's a no-way-back step. I'll do it anyway finally because the hand grip is flexible enough to allow the gun in and out with ease. It was probably a good idea from Bandai and Tamashii Nations but the final result ended up being pretty annoying because the gun pieces are constantly falling apart with minimum stress. I fear I'd finally lose them.
At the end of the day, keeping in mind the little issues you pointed in your review, Robo, I think S.H. Figuarts Padmé Amidala Star Wars Attack of the Clones may not be perfect but is another great figure from SH Figuarts.
I just looked this figure up on eBay and was shocked to high Heaven... Why is this thing going for $225 to $265??? I know it's aftermarket. But jeeze! It hasn't even been that long since it was released. To put things into perspective, you could still buy an aftermarket SH Figuarts Bruce Lee for like $40 on eBay. So what gives? Is SH Figuarts Padme really that super limited or what? I'm really curious cos it makes absolutely no sense to me at all.
I think it was one of those grab it before it's gone, oops it's gone and everyone wants one now kind of things. Like the Black Series Anakin. I didn't realize how much that stupid thing is going for now until someone mentioned it. Crazy.
Instead of Padme, I got the Riobot "Shiryu", I love mechs much more than Humans XD
hopefully you'll do a review on black series version. I've been watching some reviews and they seem to be happy with it. I couldn't grab this one and right now its price is awfully high. So that(black series) one is a go for me. * The only complain I have with figuarts' Padme is its hair color. Looks reddish brown. But overall is an amazing figure. *sobs.
Oh yeah, as soon as I track that figure down, I'm comparing it. Gotta.

I'm late but I recently have gotten into collecting these figures. I got the Rise of Skywalker Rey and Revenge of the Sith Anakin. I found a guy willing to negotiate the price of the Padme which he's selling at $300 and I'm going to try to get it down to $260 - $250 if I'm lucky but god dammit lol that is so much money but I've always wanted it!
Good review and a nice looking figure. I didn't get it as I was pissed off about it being another web exclusive, so we'll have to see whether I bother to pay ebay prices, but I;m glad figuarts seems to be going in the right direction again.

Yeah, that shot came out better than I was expecting, surprised me a little. And yeah, it's nice to be 99% happy with a SHF again, it's been a little bit.

Really glad this one turned out well. But sadly I cancelled my pre-order of it. I just couldn't bring myself to pay that premium price since it was a web exclusive. It was just too much.. and it sucks cause I've been wanting this version of Padme in figure form for a long time. That's just a lot for a 6" figure, imo.

The Fwoosh have you seen the upcoming NECA Bladerunner 2049 figures? We need to get someone to take Harrison Ford's head from that figure, and see if it fits on the TFA Black Series Han figure. It might be too big because NECAs figures are 7"... but I'm still curious to see how it looks. That Blade Runner head sculpt and paint job is much better than we'd ever get with the Black Series..

I recently caved in and bought one for $120 and of course it came the day I had to leave for the airport. now waiting for my brother to send it to me in the Netherlands. Trying to get a Jedi Luke with out paying out the nose.

Nice video! I was really surprised how this looked when it was first announced and in hand it's still great! Only the side profile seems a bit off but I could deal with that. Nat looked pretty hot in this costume so maybe that helps make me like it more ;)

The Fwoosh Yea they kinda do im paying $100 bones for Padme' and Qui-Gon (is that spelled right?) each! I honestly don't know if I should go through with I just paid 38.00 for ANH Luke NEW IN BOX (my 1st Shfiguarts Star Wars figure. Before that I only had Dragonball snd Marvel Cinematic SHF figures) I have C3PO R2D2 cominh this month though.😉
Cant justify the $$$ for this figure but I do like it better than the entirety of Episode II. GREAT review Mr. Robo - as always setting the bar high.

I've got to a point where I feel fed up with the figuarts line. Way too many exclusives, and the way they handled Anakin and Death Trooper is just ridiculous. Right now, which is funny, I only feel interested in battle droids repaints, Grievous and Dooku. And thats pretty much about it. I might as well grab clone lieutenant, but that isnt certain Oh and Boba Fett, unless they ef him up so badly as Jango.
I'm still waiting on my big bad toy store preorder. Where'd you get yours, Robo?

I'm so pissed my preorder for both Padme and Anakin were cancelled and I'm not willing to pay scalper prices to get them. Hopefully we get a Black Series version, I really need an Anakin and Padme in my collection.
Nice review. The skin on her blaster arm looks like they forgot to finish painting it sometimes, maybe it's just the lighting. Your excellent 40th anniversary Vader review sold me (my first Black series figure and probably not my last, I hate you) and I don't regret it one bit, my wallet does. On the shelf, he looks like he could just start kicking butt at any moment. Look forward to more reviews.
Yeah, that Black Series Vader is the top of the heap at the moment. SHF is doing a new one and the MAFEX Rogue One is coming, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Black Series will still take it.

Just curious Robo, did you happen to get the Mafex Sandtrooper? Really curious what your thoughts on it are, I don't have it but it looks awesome to me...
No, I skipped on the MAFEX Sandtrooper, thinking I have enough of them and a slightly larger one would be out of place. I've heard good things though.

I think Figuarts does better on female figures and the Homecoming Spider-Mans. Some of their other figures like the Marvel ones are a bit stylized especially Iron Man but they kill it with their likenesses recently.
Will this go ok with all black series stuff? Because black series don’t have one yet and I’ve just ordered this one so if it goes good. I’ll skip on the day they make a black series version and just stick to this one
All SHF are a tad small with Black Series but that's where I display them anyway. Plus I think of Padme as short.
I think this is a good figure but a bit pricey right now this is also normal cuz padmes first apperance for the 6 inch line nice review

You'll have to look on eBay or a site like Nippon-Yasan, I don't think the web exclusives usually show up on Amazon. Be warned though the prices on the exclusives seem to skyrocket in the aftermarket.
Argh, I forget, is a Black Series one coming out? I know this one is sure to be better, but I'm too far into collecting Star Wars Black Series and don't have any Star Wars Figurarts, ha. But, I gotta have a Padme. Heck, I might have to get this one either way.

her face tone doesn't seem to match with the rest of the body very well in the video. I'm sure it's better in real life though. great review as always man keep it up.
Yeah, the face has kind of a darker wash to it for some reason, it looks like from the printing process. But in person, yeah, not nearly as noticeable.

I just watched the Clone Wars tonight. This figure looks very good. I do have to say though, her nipples always detracted from the movie. Too distracting!
