      How is the bootcamp so far? Deciding between CF and DesignLab.

    Thank you for sharing. I'm exploring the BootCamp option, but this video made me think more about self-guided study. I have over 10 years of professional experience, including project management experience, and am a pretty disciplined learner/person in general. I was originally drawn to a BootCamp because I love group work and meeting people through educational endeavors. But this got me thinking I could probably be a more active networker in addition to my studies and save a chunk of cash! I'd love to connect with others that are considering self-study or have used self-study to change careers into UX.

      That's awesome, I wish I had your discipline. There are Facebook, Slack, and LinkedIn groups out there. Also Reddit!

    Do you think i should get into a bootcamp if i have no degree? Im also in my late 20’s so going back to school isnt really an option.

    Can you switch to ux after a vfx and 3D animation bachelors?

    Hi Morgan. I’m looking at Career Foundry as well. It claims that there is a job guarantee. Is that how you got your gig? The 6 month time lapse before you got your final gig is a bit concerning.

    • @MorganUX
      @MorganUX  Год назад +1

      Hi! I did not go through with the job guarantee program, I wish I had, but it fortunately worked out for me. It took me 6 months because I was very picky in my job search - I wanted to stay somewhere long-term. I also took a lot of time to work on solo projects.

      Thanks @@MorganUX I’m leaning towards not going to a course. Think I can grind on my own and get something decent. Thanks again.

    Hi, I was thinking about getting an associates degree in graphic design and then transitioning into ux/ui design. Do you think that a bachelors is that much necessary for you to get a ux design job and get into the field?

    • @MorganUX
      @MorganUX  8 месяцев назад

      I know someone who doesn't have a bachelor's but did a bootcamp and got a UX job (it did take a while though). I really can't say how much having a degree in something affects your job prospects because I do have a degree (even though it's not design related). When our team is hiring and I look at resumes I don't really care about education, I immediately look at the portfolio. So your main struggle would be getting past the initial screening that gets you to the hiring team.

    opinion on general assembly's bootcamp?

    • @MorganUX
      @MorganUX  Год назад

      I haven't taken it so I can't really speak on it. All I can say is that I chose not to take it because of the price and I believe they encourage you to go full-time, which didn't work for me. But others have gotten jobs from it!

    • @MorganUX
      @MorganUX  Год назад +1

      People join the UX field with all kind of degree, your software engineering degree is probably more relevant than my international business degree!

    • @MorganUX

      Depends on the bootcamp! Most have 'cohorts' that start once a month or biweekly. Each one is different.
