I just imagined Keith fashioned like Indiana jones.

Keith will give the boulder a stern look over his half-glasses and admonish it not to damage Society property.
Just so happens that the boulder is a giant concretion with a magnificent fossil inside.

Why would pirates even want someone else's letters? I feel like mail-stealing swashbucklers of the 17th century is a topic that needs further exploration, Brady.

Maybe Serfiotis? I looked it up and apparently there was a mayor of the port city Piraeus, Kyriakos Serfiotis of Hydra in 1835, possibly a family relation.
Yes according to the Greek wikipedia his father Antonis Serfiotis was a famous ocean-sailor of the pre-revolution era in Greece.Along with his father Kyriakos burned down ottoman ships(using Fire ships) during the revolution.
I guess Serphiotes(family name) where from Serifos island.

An argument over a pen knife? I'm not familiar with what a pen knife is or why you would get into an argument over it. can someone explain please? thanks
a pen knife is a folding knife with a blade a few cm long that is so called because its original purpose was to trim and reshape the nib of a quill pen, something that required doing fairly regularly when writing with said instrument. the term was retained in British English at least to mean any small folding pocket knife and is still used today
