Costco Royal 8-Sheet Microcut Paper Shredder 805MC Item# 1302940 Review and Test

Unit was $49.99 at Costco. In this video I put the machine through a stress test. I shred a backlog of sensitive documents that we had been hoarding to see if I could get it to overheat. I must say I am pretty impressed with it. It chews right through staples and it even ate one thin paperclip I put in on accident without issue. I recorded this video a few months ago and it is still working great. Now we shred things right away because we don't have to fight with our cheapo crosscut shredder.
This model is also known as model CY-2588COPOW.

I just got off the phone with Royal. They said it doesn’t need any lubrication! So I don’t have to buy the lubricating oil.

Thank you for the comment. I did some googling and royal no longer recommends oiling their shredders. One less chore to remember :)
