I bought a 2012 in 2023. It had 92,000 miles on it and I got it for $16K. What a beautiful SUV !!! I also got the Platinum model. I have never got more than 14.5 miles per gallon???. I don't even care. 🤦
I have a 2021 Platinum, it is a fantastic vehicle. I brought it brand new with 16 miles on it. The only thing I changed were the tires. After driving the vehicle about 400 miles. I didn’t like the OEM tires. I put on Michelin Defenders LTX M/S. The vehicle is perfect now. I have just over 20000 miles on the vehicle with zero issues. Old platform equals reliability. All the bugs are worked out by now.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 just saying.
I don’t mind the gas what about the carbon build up behind the intake valve .I would like to know what would be the effect On engine life and reliability
We bought a new 2017 and are looking to get another soon. Great trucks and extremely reliable in the long run. I also have a 2009 Titan with the 5.6 that I purchased new as well and it led us to the Armada. That power is excellent going down the road and the interior space and hauling, towing are perfect for our family. It definitely fits our family.
I drove this for a week and put 4,300 miles on it from CA to Missouri and back. I love American brand SUV aka suburban but if you cannot afford it. The armada is they to go. It was awesome and the sound system was awesome. I averaged 450 miles per tank.
I purchased a 22 Platinum that was practically brand new and had never been titled/sold in December. It had 618 miles. I really like it! Thanks for the reviews!
Great review. It’s not that Nissan can’t do better with the infotainment. It’s their limited budget. They just aren’t moving enough metal to do what they really want or can. Even if it cost $2 more per vehicle it’s a big expense in the long run. The backup cam in my 2013 Titan is better than most modern Nissans lol but at least the Armada undercuts the competition in price even though it still isn’t cheap. The 5.6 isn’t any more dates that the other V8’s still available. They could easily implement start stop but I’m glad they haven’t.
Just bought a '23 Armada SV and it's the 3rd Endurance V8 I've owned. I've owned 2 Hemi Ram 1500s, and they both had MDS...Hated it! This is how a V8 should be.
@GTGarageTalk I also like the fact that it's based on an old school truck. Try getting a pre owned ford or chevy, will spend more money and more time at the dealership
I would dearly love to have this Nissan Armada Platinum, but being retired puts it completely out of sight for me. I also don't know how much longer Nissan is going to build the SUV. Thanks for a really nice review, Cory!
Can you elaborate, please? I’m cross shopping used LX’s against the Armada Plat (want genuine leather). Mainly just want V8 capability and reliability for over landing and camping.
AUTO is basically fulltime 4WD, Armada is marketed as Patrol in the Middle East. 2WD mode has little difference in fuel consumption when compared to 2WD model. It can be made into RWD by pulling the fuse for four-wheel drive system. The 4WD system is very similar to Torque on Demand as used in Ford SUVs like Explorer or Expedition. In the Middle East, there’s no 2WD variant of Patrol, all 4WD as standard, very popular with Arabs especially the Saudis and Emiratis.
Woo Hoo!! I just got a 22 SL and I love it!! I bought it bcuz it was 4WD and had a higher clearance so I can go camping in No. Colorado and Wyoming. At first, I couldn’t get used to the power but after a week, I’m a pro. I’m excited that you loved the engine and I’m hoping we get a certain person back in office in ‘24 so I don’t have to worry about gas prices again. Thanks for sharing your review. Your wife is awesome too. I watched that video as well. You guys (and Tucker) are great!❤
Love this truck but my biggest concern is the front seat position. I am just about 6'1" and have read that the seat height is not adjustable. I like to raise the seat in must vehicles I drive. Any input?
What model trim was this to get the black roof liner? I am searching platinum but can only find tan/beige headliners and want the black/brown combo you have here
I might have a 2022 this week. These look like rugged tires. What tire is suggested for that smooth ride?? I want the tires to make it feel like it is a Cadillac. Wifey is going to love it. Tires for that Cadillac ride???
Wicked video! This helps me so much. I am torn between the Yukon or this. I’ve been researching as many pros and cons as I could find. My big thing is towing capacity. What’s your opinion / choice between the two?
Great review of a great car. The “old fashioned” V8 takes the prize, this drivetrain will last for 1/2 million miles or more. I eliminated the Sequoia based on price. The compares better to the Escalade not the Tahoe but the Caddy is 30k more. Same with the Lexus LX but only avail as V8 on used market. And you will pay $$$ for that!
Ironically the luxury does make it seem more comparable to luxury focused rigs like the Cadillac, but the actual bones of this vehicle make it most similar to the discontinued Toyota Land Cruiser. This thing has off-roader in its blood (as seen in its domestic counterpart the Nissan Patrol).
Yessss, agreed!!! The major disappointment for me.the fact that we can't pop that rear glass independently to maintain some sort of privacy .loved my 2011 platinum😢 now, the 2023😊 .
We're thinking of getting a 2015 premium select with about 150k km or approximately 100k miles for 18k . It's looking mi t , no rust. Worth it in your opinion?

Heavy on gas

The drivetrain is proven and reliable, but 2021 is the first year of the refresh, and it's those things that fail most often. Just sayin😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Just took a 1300 mile trip in my 2023 Armada SL. EXCELLENT RIDE AND 22 MPG
👍🏼
That’s awesome!
Yes I actually hit the 23MPG on a short trip on my 2024. About the same as these new problematic small displacement turbo engines.
@@noniespam exactly, so why are they dumping the V-8. It’s a great vehicle too

Sold me right there. That start/stop is nuts to me lol

I will be buying a new Armada in May and I do enjoy that large rear bumper.
The most sensible review.. You should get more views..Keep doing great reviews... Subscribed.. Also got SL for 12K off MSRP
..
Thank you for watching and subscribing!
Just got a pre owned armada with 60k on it. It sounds amazing and rides amazing. Nissan nailed it with this truck
Agreed.
@GTGarageTalk I also like the fact that it's based on an old school truck. Try getting a pre owned ford or chevy, will spend more money and more time at the dealership
i especially appreciate the friends references.

Spy shots of the test vehicles of the next generation have surfaced.
Look for it used. 2021 is the exact same design as the newest 2024. Hasn’t changed. 2021 Armadas can be found for 30k or less
Look at older ones! They are a bargain! Just bought a 2017 SL and getting it delivered Saturday
I bought a 2023 Nissan Armada platinum brand new for 62k very comfortable. I had a 2020 lexus lx sold it and bought this and love it.
Enjoy it!
Can you elaborate, please?
I’m cross shopping used LX’s against the Armada Plat (want genuine leather). Mainly just want V8 capability and reliability for over landing and camping.
I bought a 23 armada platinum with 6 miles on it and we absolutely love it 3k miles on it now
Love that! Enjoy!!!
Dig the Oilers hat. I still have an old Warren Moon jersey. Thanks for the review.
Throwback!
I love my 23 Nissan Titan pro-4x!! Im trying to get my wife to buy an Armada but shes looking at the Chevy Suburban. Awesome video Cory.
Thanks for watching.
The Armada is definitely worth a look

I'm 6'0, I have plenty of headroom. Only complaint is I like to spread my legs wider than it allows but I am still comfortable. Try one out!
also sold as the Nissan y62 patrol in other markets bet it would sell more with the patrol name
👍🏼
What model trim was this to get the black roof liner? I am searching platinum but can only find tan/beige headliners and want the black/brown combo you have here
Tahoe much more expensive over Armada is the better buy and will last longer. Their engine is the best in class
It would be really nice if Nissan made a extended version comparable to the Suburban
I know, right?!?
I might have a 2022 this week. These look like rugged tires. What tire is suggested for that smooth ride?? I want the tires to make it feel like it is a Cadillac. Wifey is going to love it. Tires for that Cadillac ride???
Escalades use Bridgestone Alenza tires.
Wicked video! This helps me so much. I am torn between the Yukon or this. I’ve been researching as many pros and cons as I could find. My big thing is towing capacity. What’s your opinion / choice between the two?
We don’t really tow much on this channel, but outside of that consideration I’d buy this Armada. As a total package, it just clicked with me.

Between 2023 Nissan armada platinum and ford expedition platinum which would you recommend?
I really like the simplicity of the Nissan but the Ford works better with child seats. Honestly though, those are my 2 favs in the segment.
Buy the Ford if you want to spend thousands on repairs in a few years.
Do throw all that extra cash away on the FORD
My main issue with this vehicle is that the back glass doesn’t open independently of the hatch.
Yessss, agreed!!! The major disappointment for me.the fact that we can't pop that rear glass independently to maintain some sort of privacy .loved my 2011 platinum😢 now, the 2023😊 .
Please keep buying Tahoe’s so these don’t get too overpriced for me 😂
😉
No cylinder deactivation 👍
😉
Load leveling rear? That was discontinued in twenty sixteen
On my 21 Armada, i did two trips upstate New York all highway, i got 23 and 24 mpg, the specs say 18 mpg highway!?
Those are numbers “created in a lab” real world results always differ. Cool that you’re getting such great mileage.
If you turn the rear defrost on it gets rid of that blurred look in the rear view mirror.
Interesting.
Does it require premium fuel?
i believe recommended, not required. lower octane = lower performance from the engine.
The fuel cap says Premium Recommended! I have used both in my 2023 Armada SL and found no difference. Just did a 1300 mike trip and got 22 mpg
Only part that sucks is the interior is still the same pretty much lol I wish they updated that
Engine start stop is pure garbage. Too much issues
We were so pleased that this did not have it.
@@GTGarageTalk absolutely 💯. It can eventually cause damage to the starter and take a toll on the battery
My start / stop experience with the Cadillac is very good - 62K and still strong. Agree that is a sedan and not a SUV.
Lie lie lie you must’ve bought it off the wrong person or somebody just told you lies but no
The Bose audio system is a joke. Really Nissan ?
Would you rather them install their “Fender” system?
@@GTGarageTalk I sure would. Anything but the Bose.
Stereo is quite good- unexpected. It’s well balanced and simple. No BS 3D surround signal processing.
