    As someone who hates slow vertical lift hills, though I do have an irrational fear of falling backwards down escalators (makes trips, and my eventual move to London fun for travelling on the underground), this is right up my street.

      Idk if I can do a vertical lift hill. A 50° climb on a slow lift almost made me pass out since I hate heights. Going down doesn't bother me but the climb does.

      My friend who is not an enthusiast but likes a family coaster went on The Smiler this year and (apart from telling me she rode it) she kept complaining about the vertical lift. The thing I fear is going to happen is the Beyond Vertical lift. I can see that in the next couple of years. And I’d put £10 it being at a Merlin park, we know they work with Gerstlauer and like a worlds first gimmick.

    The Polar Coaster was brought to fruition by S&S but Intamin ended up taking over the concept. Thats when it went from a spiral lift hill to what was rendered as a vertical launched lift hill to the top of the 500ft tower. Intamin has been been thinking about this for a while. Really hoping they can bring this concept back to those heights!

    From my experiences with launched lift hills, I think they are a bit overated. They are a nice treat, but you can't get the same amount of acceleration as a regular launch (it is literally an up hill fight for LSMs).
    What I'm interested in is manufacturers experimenting with drop launches. Imagine 150-200ft tall lift hill coasters that launch you downward faster than a giga coaster. Like with Tower of Terror, you'd be falling faster than gravity!

    This gives me so many ideas you have no idea. I see a the fastest launch (mp/s)and the inversion record eventually being crushed by this model the more I look at it. Imagine Do-Dodonpa meets the Smiler build it tall launch it fast create a Bull Hill 8-second floater hill before a twisted diving beyond vertical drop (world's steepest even thiugh you will need trims) before entering into the world's most disorienting inverted layout. Hell throw in a Bent Cuban Eight, a bow tie and a snake dive for rare elements measure and voila also a ton of airtime moments in between inversions. Then you have a coaster of all extremes.

    You could do an LSM as part of a midcourse breakrun without loosing pacing, if done correctly.
    After emergancy stop, let the train slowly drive backwards and then accelerate to the normal speed. Could even work on a hill.
    And now you have theoreticly doubled the capacity.

  • @jaredstivers
    @jaredstivers Год назад

    I think the layout are approximately 160 ft so they can have a couple of Shelf models for Iaapa. I believe 250 to 300 feet would be possible with this type of launch but I don't know how much Force would be put onto structure. On a Horizon plane and you take off the weight and Gravity is still Level with the ground but when you elevate vertical all that weight and gravity forces are on the fins. I not saying they won't be awesome but I don't know where the power vs gravity and weight plus Friction starts to over power the launch. It still be one he'll of a experienced even it it only 250 ft in air

    I preface this by saying it will not happen, but one of these would be fun at Waldameer. No launch coaster and no inversions on coasters. Even though these designs are fairly small there still is just no room for one of these as the park currently stands (and I don't see them spending over $10 million on a single ride). Imma just be bias and say any of the parks near me could use one. If SFMM could have a ton of coasters for no reason, throw in a not-so-expensive Intamin launch (or multi launch) at Great Adventure. If Dorney adds this, the popularity would deff increase I’m sure. SF New England already needs a launch coaster and limited space. If they add this, they could have a potential great top 3 line up. I’d say Hershey, but we already know they’re redoing Wildcat with RMC. SFA could use some love tho lol.

    My first thought is comparing this to Wicked at Lagoon. My issue with that coaster is the restraints. They are not great if you are at least 6 foot tall. I tend not to like that coaster as much as some. If intamin can fix the restraint problem the layout does look better than wicked.

    I feel like with the price range, and the boxes that this model crosses off, that it would be a great fit for Worlds of Fun. Of course that would rely on the new Zambezi Zinger proving to be a successful investment for CF, but it would be a great fit for their next coaster. They need a launch, vertical/beyond vertical drop, and a full circuit looper that places riders above the track. This model has all of that.

    This post by Intamin was definitely at least partially an Easter egg/hint at TTD I'm all in at this point I was @Cedar Point on Sunday and the entire track is gone other than the Top Hat. The track has been shipped back to Intamins track contractor and this is a perfect opportunity for Cedar Point, in addition with the new Entertainment Pavilion, WildMouse Coaster, and new Beach themed area to take back the undisputed #1 park in the Country position They can't pass this opportunity up It's a perfect mesh of time & opportunity This will be so much cheaper because of already having the Top Hat and track that's going to save them at least 5 Million alone. So we shall see but I'm calling it now TTD will now be an LSM Vertical Launch Coaster with a Space/Sci-Fi theme
