  • Join me as I unbox the luxurious Wingsung 632 Fountain Pen. How does its gorgeous 18k gold nib stack up against the Wingsung 630’s steel nib, and the incredibly smooth gold nib of the Pilot Custom 823? Let's find out!

    Maybe look at your grip. My 630 (f) was gorgeous out of the box, nib tuned to perfection.

    yea they sent me one with a scuffed feed, and they wanted me to mail it back for a refund... the shipping would have been almost as much as the pen.

    What are the dimensions of the pen: length capped, length posted, and weight? Thanks

    I’m left handed too but my way of writing is different than yours. The angle of the nib may play a role in the way it performs. Thanks for the vid.

      Thanks. You're totally right. I have smoothed it out considerably since this video. Actually even more since the follow up video. It's by far my favourite pen now. The bounce is huge, with equally huge line variation. It is now filled with Yama Budo ink with its glorious hot magenta sheen.

    Disappointing... I am going to take a nib class in November for similar reasons. Nib repairs and tunings.

      It's an interesting topic: should high-end products be tuned to be forgiving for the average human, or should they be tuned for tuned people? I think of F1 cars: so utterly perfect, yet so utterly inaccessible to anyone who isn't tuned to them (and without millions of spare $$$$$).
      That said, we're talking about a pen!

    Wingsung #8 nibs are not good on average. I have several of them and there is too much variance between them. I also have a 14k gold nib which is simply scratchy beyond repair (I replaced it with a steel nib).

    you tried everything but the correct grip mate. you should learn how to hold a fountain pen the correct way. left handers can still enjoy the good flow and exprerience a fountain pen offers. lot of videos on youtube from which you can take zome ideas till you find your own. the wing sung nibs are definately not that bad.

    • @WondersUnlocked
      @WondersUnlocked  2 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, well I could also try the correct hand too, but a life of sub-par penmanship got me here and it's going to take a while to change. I do hear what you're saying, and it is on my to do list to work on it. That said, most of my other pens are far more forgiving to my imperfections. Is it their weakness that they accommodate variety? The F1 sports car analogy certainly agrees with you.... I'm on the fence on this one!

      Totally showing this statement question to my kids! They love statement questions. The exclamation point for extra statementing is a solid innovation too!
      .... Anyways, to answer your statement, the purchase is far more about my curiosity than the pen. I'm not looking for the best pen, I'm looking for an interesting experience!

    Lol, too funny. They really ARE trying to copy European pens - right down to the expensive gold nib that doesn't write out if the box....
