- The first song from the first album. A couple of tricky parts, but it can be pulled off if you are feeling it. Modified Ibanez 470 tuned 1 step down to D standard. Almost all of this bands music was tuned this way. DV Mark multi-amp, Meas 50/50 stereo-SM57,1960B-Rhodes, Scarlett 2i2. R.I.P Criss Oliva. I do not hold the copy rights to this music. It belongs to Savatage and Atlantic records. www.facebook.c...

The first time I heard the Siren call I almost cried it was the most ingenious tune I had ever heard up to that moment ... then The Dungeons (an earlier release) ... then Merciful Fate's Black Funeral ... then Savatage Necorphilia ... and then ... two great bands who I miss dearly. At the same time, there is always Opeth ... Brilliant!
I think I heard Power of the Night first. Then it was Dungeons and Sirens. All killer albums. To me , it was the heaviest stuff at the time.
almost all the trademarks of Savatage already there. Fascinating to compare the earliest stuff to Edge of Thorns or something. They really managed to develop their sound and music without losing touch with their roots. Back then already more creative than most other bands.
And of course very well played! There cannot be enough people spreading this music.
Budo Guitar True, true. That was one of the cool things back then was watching the bands evolve. They all tried different directions and kept trying to out do themselves and the other bands too.
they made so much great music but the Sirens album was always my absolute favorite! great job!
Thank you. It is one of my favorites too. This album captures the mystique and soul of the band. The way the guitar cracks though the Marshalls is nice too.
@@relzric Exactly ! it's the rawness of bands in their early stages that make this album totally unique and special.
@@doylehargraves7576 yup. Like so many, the first 2 or 3 were epic. Then the typical commercial cannon fodder looking for a hit to buy a Ferrari.
Love this album. 🤘
@@metallord7660 Yes. And Dongeons
One of their heaviest songs
Outstanding Cover! Brings back awesome memories.
very good!! congratulations!!
Sounds great can you start doing some guitar lessons for some of these great Savatage songs... Like what keys they’re in and the different chords ... great playing!
I should it a shot. The Yngwie facebook challenge has got me spooked.
So good bro !!! Fucking Awesome 🤘
Thank you man.
Good job dude .
Thank you man.
Fantastic cover! The outro bit from 3:02 on is one of the best riffs in metal \m/
Yes. They set a precident for things to come. Much of their stuff rang true through later works.
@@relzric Pains me to say I never listened to them when I was a lad lol I was a metal head and knew them by name but for whatever reason I just never gave em a try :(
please cover i believe off SIRENS! used to close my eyes ,crank it up,and imagine flyin' through space....... great song!
OK. I've got two request for this one. Have to give me a min. The more I listen, the more I hear. Should be up soon hopefully. Just saw TSO, to bad Criss never got to see what Savatage turned into.
Awesome. Great job.
Thanks man!
Nice work! Keep rockin', brother!
Nicely done!!! Keep rocking it!!
Thanks bro!
Fu.....ing PERFECT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAJAJ WOW MADE MY DAY!!!! Stay heavy. MY RESPECT FROM MEXICO
Thank you brother, you made my day too.
Unbelievable!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏Best cover of sirens. Please post the tab of this song.🤘
Awesome, thanks! I actually don't have one. There may be something similar on ultimate guitar. I know if you hit the gear button you can slow the playback speed down. I did find one on ultimate guitar but he tabbed it in drop D tuning. Song is in D standard. Should work though. Cheers!
Thank you. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
👍
Great stuff man!
Thank you man.
Awesome fucking cover!sorry for the language but I got goosebumps on this one...i also play this cover ..love Savatage
They are an awesome band. You can feel it in your gut and your mind. I will check out your cover.
Old School Metal Guitar I agree, such a unique band and Jon Oliva had such range and a powerful voice..Criss Oliva(R.I.P) was also a unique and underrated guitarist in my opinion..rock on brother..wish musicians like yourself lived close to me so we could jam
Yeah I know. One of my RUclips buds lives in Italy.
Another excellent job! please Can you cover "I Believe" from sirens ? :)
Hmm, I don't know. I might be able to do the solo part maybe. Glad that you liked this one.
Would this be easy for a beginner? I just started playing and remember this song from my youth.
I'm not sure. It uses partial bar chords and a lot of half rest. The accents ore mostly on down beats and there are not any out of scale things as much as I know. Some of the timing in the breakdown are quite tricky but other than that, it' would be a good song to pick up. The solos rely on a lot of technique and understanding of the pentatonic scale but don't require a lot of stretching or rapid fire notes. It should not be to bad if you have the feel of the instrument.
standard 440 tuning?
@@rodx5571 I think most of almost everything Savatage did was down a whole step to D. With a few exceptions. Not sure about the later years.
What is the tuning? I heard he does a lot in C#...
It is D standard. Most of the old stuff is this way. He had some with drop C like Power of the Night. I think they turned up to E or Eb for the newer stuff like off Streeta.
How do i subscribe to Fortune Cookie Religion?
The website is defunct now. The bass player/ owner of the band did not want to pay for it any more. I had to get the CD for the video from the drummer, my other brother in Texas, in the mail.
Need to tab or cover on the run or living for the night..i can't get those songs at all on guitar
Possibly. I work over 40 hours a week. Good excuse for me to play guitar though
@@relzric Let me know if you do! Rock on!
your tabs?
There are these. Not sure if they are right. I don't think they have the quiet part or not. tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/savatage/sirens-guitar-pro-230781. I did most of it by ear. I have know most of this song for a while.
@@relzric thanks just have to find the right trak
Tunning ???
D standard. All strings down one step. All off their earlier albums where tuned this way. Power of the Night ( the song) was in drop C.
@@relzric kool thanks
Sounds great. A little more enthusiasm would help....
Thanks. I know I am not very animated. I am afraid that I would mess up or come off unauthentic looking. Notes for the future. I could see some of his sig moves would go in great. ks again.
Excellent! Would you be so kind to send me the tabs?
I will have to fix the one I found on the internet. The guy did it in drop D and needs some arranging. I can send it in Guitar Pro or PDF. Guitar Pro files won't turn into Powertab files.
OSMG Many Thanks in advance. Both formats will do!
@@coosvandorsten Hey man. Sorry it took so long. I have it done except the 4 lead fills. I can send you this while I get those in there. Try to reach me in the about section. It has a Google+ link. If not, leave an e-mail or dropbox and I can send it that way. Then I can delete the comment so no one gets your email. I will send it to UG too after I get the leads done.
OSMG Many Thanks! Google+ CoosX
Please do edge of thorns please
That one might take some time. Killer solo though. It sounds like a workout. Should make me a better player for sure. Give me some time and I will give it a shot.
Old School Metal Guitar Old School Metal Guitar I can play the solo and I am not even as good as you , it has some tricky things but it's mostly bends on d minor ..I would like to know how to play power of the night but I can't even touch it I think it's very difficult.
I did the Edge of Thorns solo.
tabs for the intro please
OK. There are some on UG.com, but they are wrong. I will transpose it tonight and get it up. It takes 4 or 5 days for them to approve tabs on the site so when I get it fixed you can tell me how you would like to get them. I can do PDF, or dropbox. I am using Guitar Pro and it won't let you turn it into a powertab. The chords are suspended 2nd chords and the low one (D) is a minor. Will get it done later tonight.
OSMG can you send it to me as well please? Nice X-mas present it would be!
Tunning
I get more passion from my butcher. Come on brother what is this? no pullofs hammerons like the live ones? listen to the live recording in the ''ghost in the ruins'',that is theb way that savatage tuned should be played!
alex razorback It is mostly pentatonic and minor in D. I don't remember if I did a tab for the solo or not. If I have one I will send it to you.
Are you a hog fan? Also, I'd like to meat your butcher.
I think you sound great man...
