- Universal's Epic Universe are set to open Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment as the world's scariest dark ride opening in 2025 in this little horror theme park within the Dark Universe land of their huge park expansion project.
Will this Frankenstein ride live up to the hype as we discuss this brand new RoboCoaster addition to Dark Universe at Universal Epic Universe.
The Phantom of the Opera's organ within the Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment features 14 individual flame points that shoot vertical flames over 3 feet in the air and dance in synchronicity with the organ music
Thanks to Universal for giving us footage permission!
Ride Storyline:
Universal Orlando’s most terrifying attraction yet, this state-of-the-art dark ride takes guests deep into the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, where Dr. Victoria Frankenstein conducts her twisted experiments. In a vain display of her genius, she invites guests into her laboratory to witness a demonstration of her ability to control monsters - but her plans go awry when her attempts to control the most dangerous of monsters, Dracula, fails, unleashing a horde of enraged monsters.
Guests are then thrust into an intense ride through the darkness as they try to evade the grasps of The Wolf Man, The Mummy, The Creature
from the Black Lagoon, the Brides of Dracula and others.

So who’s gonna ride this bloody thing?!
Me
@@TheWendigoKing1914 Woo!
@@LiftHillsandThrills I hope it is scary as HHN
Hey Sean the windmill will burst into flames every 20 minutes. They are using 2 types of gas so the flames can be seen in daylight and night. It’s a system designed so it doesn’t set anything on fire if a gust of wind happened which isn’t that often in Orlando. Enjoy Orlando buddy.
Amazing ! Thanks for this! And I can’t wait… so bloody excited!
This has got to be one of the best themed parks ever . Having seen Orlando and Hollywood this just seems to have stepped up another level
Agreed
I’ve been thinking about this all afternoon since I saw the launch video. I am almost willing to bet that the animatronics have been developed in partnership with KUKA, which as they say could mean they will be the best animatronics out there. Universal are smashing it with Epic Universe I can’t wait to visit!
The werewolf in the trailer Universal released is supposedly animatronic. If that's true that's pretty darn scary!
I can't describe how excited I am for this project. That entire land looks insane 😍
Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey is amazing so I can only imagine what this will be like with 14 extra years of technological development.
On a side note the Windmill sets ablaze every 20 mins I believe 💥
Ah nice, the windmill stuff wasn't in the Press Release unfortunately, only a photo of it with a brief sentence aha and I get to experience what that's like next Friday. Wonder if I'll enjoy it more than Knight Flight (same ride system)
The whole area looks insane and that new dark ride is sick! I wonder if they are gonna age restrict the dark ride so they can make it super scarey and intense?
It’ll still have to be family friendly but maybe a warning or two I’d have thought
@@LiftHillsandThrills yeah just been watching Jackie's (Super Enthused) break down of all the promo material they sent out. Family friendly is deffo the vibe but still looks like it's gonna be spooky and awesome!!
@@MH_ZeR0 I love Jackie’s channel she pops on here now and again for a random comment aha the last one being a Drayton Manor video. Hope she’s well! Family friendly is the way but they’ll push the boundaries the only way they know how to
@@LiftHillsandThrills never know, you might bump into her and Sam at Universal next week! they are always on park somewhere haha
@@LiftHillsandThrills Which channel is Jackie's?
Great video Sean, Dark Universe for looks very impressive and I would love to experience all the attractions in Dark Universe not just the Dark Ride
I can’t wait
@@LiftHillsandThrills same here tbh Sean
If you watch the universal release video of Darkmoor. @ 4:36 seconds you see the Dracula cgi. Right after, you see the wolfman with a blue light behind him. I thought that was an actor. It's not! It's the actual animatronic!! It looks so good!!
It is indeed! I wasn’t sure if it was real or not when I watched it originally but wow…
It has been basically heavily said for a couple of months now that Monsters Unchained was gonna be a KUKA Robocoaster. Surprised people are now just finding this out.
All things aside, I don’t care if we have one Orlando, as long as this one is as scary as explained, they can be two completely different attractions
I haven’t been following the project whatsoever. We are just sent the press materials. I think diving into projects so much so that every detail is ruined dampens the surprise. It’s easier to do it in the UK as our projects are for the most part very simple and boring in comparison 😂
@@LiftHillsandThrills ahh okay!
Enjoy Universal, you will love it. Dark Universe looks fantastic. I love the concept of the dark ride. I better start saving😂
It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before the only thing even remotely similar is the ride system! And thank you! So excited
I wanna be scared sh*tl*ss. Booked for sept 25
Hell yeah!
Not gonna happen. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY park. Not Halloween horror nights. Crying kids all over the place is NOT a good look.
@@jeandavidnau8314 100% going to happen as they've already explained themselves they know where to draw the line, young young kids will not be able to ride but it won't be too intense. It'll be done in a jumpy fun manner I'd have thought as opposed to a really in your face and overwhelming type of scare
@@jeandavidnau8314 don’t need to shout family friendly! Not everything is suitable for every age. Like you can’t put a 5 year old on Velocicoaster! A well rounded park has something for everyone.
You're very relaxing. Bless you
haha thank you!
Looks insane 😍
It really does!
I hope they bring it to Hollywood ❤
#DisneyDiva ❤
haha for sure! I hope they bring it to the UK too whilst they're at it!
Disney darkest ride is probably phantom manor but i except more from universal but honestly they look to be doing a good job
I think this will be darker in tone but they still have to balance it for families etc I’m sure
One of the guys talking about this ride had a model of the ride vehicle on their desk. At 0.49 in the dark universe reveal look on the desk on his left
He does indeed :) as well as the in ride portal / scene behind him on the other side
@@LiftHillsandThrills yep. initially saw the restraints and thought B&M. then realised its a dark ride so not a B&M
October 2025, my family and I will be visiting from Maine to celebrate Samhain (Halloween). For the first time in the over 10 times we've been to Orlando, we will not be visiting any of the DEI-sney parks. We will instead be going to a Universal resort, Universal Studios, and Epic Universe. For me, I'm most excited for Dark Universe and Isle of Berk, although all of the lands look amazing.
They really do look incredible! I’m just going to set up camp in Dark Universe
@@LiftHillsandThrills Sounds like a plan!
What do you get when you combine Harry Potter islands of adventure and Halloween horror nights over at universal studios? I’m certainly excited to see next year 🥳
🎉 one hell of an experience 🎉
When they talkef about incorporating touch, I was imagining Subterra on steroids, I'm intrigued to see what they do!
Oh absolutely considering how you’re inside a very restricted restraint I wonder how they’d do it differently
Cool ❤
Very
That's some big ass emojis haha
Imagine if we get something like this in Bedford!!
This land would perfectly suit our murky, overcast climate and there is a huge following of horror fans in the UK.
Precisely. Instead of Lord of the Rings or god forbid Dr Who or any other rubbish going around something that's still new and exciting but has been tried and tested elsewhere. It would be special!
I certainly hope so I love universal 👹
They deserve this.. the effort they're going to just for this ride let alone the entire project is astronomical
These thumbnails are where AI is going to make a load of money. A lot of regular people doing media work are not making major movies, they are getting paid in small bits on demand from individuals and small organizations.
The best thing is… it’s not AI 😂 it’s a universal concept image and a screenshot from the video super imposed onto it 😂 I just added a red eye glow 😂😂😂
@@LiftHillsandThrills oh I know but very quickly it will be in the next few years where it will even save you minimal time over manually doing it and a ton of hours for other people.
@@mattdaaamon Oh yeah for sure! I'm with you now haha
