The government doesn't just mandate it, they use our tax dollars to subsidize the EV industry. This is Gravely wrong, and in my mind even criminal. Funding activities that are not economically viable is no business whatsoever of the government.

Hello. here where I live we are buying pre 80s cars and trucks we can work on them, just bought a model A Ford that is restored and has AC put on it , tired of the new that you cant fix yourself with out having to spend a small fortune
From what I understand, the Model A can cruise at 50 miles an hour all day, at least that's what one owner said in a youtube video and since our local speed is 50, I'd be fine with a Model A. Plus they just look so much cooler than today's plastic cars.
these in-depth videos are fantastic. I feel like I’m in a college course on economics. I don’t know how you make all these video on a home computer but it’s more informative than the news channels. Keep them coming.
Scotty said a good thing here. Make a budget! And work with it! A budget isn't a paper you shelve away for eternity. It's a practical tool that you work with regularly. It's a powerful tool. All you need is a pen/pencil and a sheet of paper. Jot down your costs on the paper. Not just your monthly costs, but also your bi-monthly, quarterly, costs. What costs do you have every six months? Once a year? Into the budget with them! Put down ALL your costs into the budget. All those little costs you think are too small to put into the budget, they will sum up to hundreds, perhaps thousands of dollars per month. Into the budget with them! Or you will have thousands of dollars running through your fingers, every month. Now that you know your costs, take a look at your not-every-month costs. How do you cover up for them? Time for paper and pen again. Say you pay your insurances every six months. Take that six-months sum and divide it with six, to get a monthly cost. (If it's bi-monthly, you divide by two, and so on.) Then put it into the budget as a monthly cost post. Because you have to put up that much of your monthly salary to be able to pay that cost. Time to stand your income (after taxes!) against your costs. And guess what? It's paper and pen time again! (It's good sales technique. Even if you don't buy my spiel, I guarantee you will remember it.) You will immediately see if you're plus or minus. If you're minus, you'll have to scrutinize your budget. Is there something you could trim down? Or outright cut? Is there a way for you to get extra money? Perhaps change to another job, or moving elsewhere, where costs are smaller? That's it for today folks. There are of course more to think about, like divorce, accidents, getting fired, borrowing money (don't). But that's for another sermon. If you live to what I have talked about today, I promise you, it will be of good help to you. You will be stronger. cheers! / CS
Talking about the US national debt and not mentioning the private central bank (Federal Reserve) or banking practices in the US and abroad is like telling me about the 90’s Chicago Bulls but never mentioning Michael Jordan.
I live in Delaware. I don’t give a crap whether he’s a car guy or not. He’s a crook and should spend the rest of his life in prison with his brother Jim and son Hunter. Thanks for the video Scotty.
@@gunsofsteele what will your reaction be when prices on many things begin to increase next year, and previously healthy international relationships are tarnished due to predatory sanctions and/or tariffs?
The continuous increase in National Debt is the same in most western countries. In fact, most of the increase in GDP over the last 40 years is actually debt and public sector spending.
debt is not the only important thing! Look at your interest that you are paying! The US, mainly because of the Republicans, can't pay it's debt back because you guys are nearing the 1 trilliong dollars just in paying the interest on the debt, while recieving 4 trillions and 6 trillions going out! So you having a crazy deficit and the highest debt in the world! No wonder you can finance all of the wars, you just keep printing till bankruptcy. You are going to become the second Greece in terms of debt, which is not good! Fix your finances first before cutting taxes! Oh and increasing tariffs, is good for the government, even though you are going to spend it on interest payments.
@opuscat999 this is actually true they always use the red side to push their agenda along , immigration , inflation , military spending ext. Trump presided over the biggest increase in money supply in history due to a case of the sniffles (scamdemic)
@@opuscat999NOPE. BY MOSTLY DEMOCRATS GETTING food stamps, medicare, medicaid, section 8 housing paid by taxpayers and much more WHILE PAYING NO TAXES AT ALL TO PAY FOR all that. REPUBLICANS PAY MOST TAXES IN USA instead of wellfare like YOU.
This video covers the debt and how spending is up while taxing is down. How about the 14.3 million jobs that the USA corporaterations are outsourcing and not collecting taxes on. Bring the jobs back or tax the companies to decrease the debt.
Taxing the companies is what drove them away. A company has to be competitive. Most stuff today is made outside the US because it was the only way for a company to survive.
Trump will give many tax breaks to big businesses and deregulate... only for them to pocket that money and keep on outsourcing labor to other countries 😂 they're all in bed together, man.
The government borrows because private capital will not pay for essential services. Roads, airports, submarines, national security. Private capital isn't taxed enough to cover these and other national welfare expenses. Meanwhile, this deficit enables private capital to maintain general economic growth, which would collapse if taxes were in line with vital government expenses. The aircraft carrier Gerald Ford cost $13 billion to build. That's without personnel, their training, the aircraft, or operating expenses. One aircraft carrier. And so on. You get it's not all food stamps and free healthcare.
Not exactly. Parts of infrastructure are paid for with debt. But the debt is paid off with a broader tax base. The problem occurs when taxes are used for additional spending, instead of paying off the debt.
@@Robsan40 With Russia and China when they so called build for 1/10th they fall apart 10 times as fast. Japan builds heliocopter carriers . Do some research.
Driving a car and going to places is the ultimate expression of freedom but never forget that driving is a privilege so drive responsibly and never take it for granted.
And never forget, there may come a time when a health problem may end your driving career to use those taxpayer-provided Interstates and tollways. Interesting to note that mid-west America offered more frequent electric train service 100 years ago than inter-city bus service today.
Funny how Scotty glossed over the periods where the US had NO debt, had a massive surplus in fact, and we had no federal income tax either. Tarriffs baby!
In the period you're talking about you also didn't have running water in your house or electricity, you muppet. The economy 120 years ago was massively different to today's. You can't even compare the two.
@@johnlesoudeur3653 there are stuff called pushbike nowaday, that is bicycle without pedal and you must push it with your leg. We are in civilization regress
And also be great full of term limits. Up here in The Peoples Dystopia of Canada 🇨🇦 we don't have limits. Trudeau could be prime minister as long as he lives. We can't stand him along with Trump👍.
The last Republican to balance the budget was Nixon. Democrats have done it twice since then. Revenue needs to go up to service the debt, but Heavy D. Isn't having it because it isn't a popular idea. I pay taxes. All I want to know is how much tax does Elon pay? Nada. Right? As it pertains to cars, I do not plan to every buy a new car.
Thanks for the video Scotty, but I can't look at the guy for 13 minutes without feeling ill about the last four years. Now he is selling materiel made for the border wall for pennies on the dollar as scrap.
Selling border wall materials for cheap is total outrageous. He's really trying to screw the Trump administration before he even gets there not to mention all the pardons for the other crooked bureaucrats 🤬
Well if we would stop spending money on weapons for other countries and companies stop charging the government such rediculace prices for things that are not really that expensive
@@tommyhawks856 dude it was just being a comment cause dems dont want gas cars to exist , they want us all to drive electric cars. and yes im glad hes not driving anymore might forget hes in a car.
He shoots himself in the foot, every single time he has one of these MAGA propaganda rants. There is a good reason why most YT people with as many subs as him, stay far away from politics, especially MAGA propaganda.
Really shocking how many people waste money by letting the credit card companies & loan companies rip them off. I am concerned about the national debt are really tricky tax loopholes that let the greedy pay a lower effective rate than I do. I’m praying for a successful Trump Presidency even though I’m 💙. We’re still the best country the planet has ever seen! 🇺🇸💙❤️🥳🎊🎉
Thanks, Scotty, for just describing and explaining the issue without trying to place blame. I think most Americans think that "the other party" is to blame because that is what they hear from politicians, and that the issue will disappear when the leadership changes. I do fear what is to come when (not if) this continues.
Bidding starts at only 5 dollars per bollard that cost hundreds to make one. Texas is installing more so I hope they buy them at auction from Arizona. What a traitor.
A manual transmission is more fun drive, when you are not in traffic congestion. Today's automatic transmissions shift faster and more precisely than any human using a manual transmission. The drag strips are proving this daily.
Correction: The national debt recently exceeded $36 Trillion and is on pace to exceed $40 Trillion by 2026. Interest on the debt is the 2nd largest expense, behind Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid, we pay...at over $1 Trillion per year. What cannot continue, must stop.
there is a reason I drive a2006 Nissan that I got new and still have ITS PAYED FORE and one thing so many don't think about the car insurance is also cheep like $50 a month for liability and not full coverage
Electric vehicles will not achieve zero emissions until their manufacturing process eliminates lithium and the electricity grid is powered without fossil fuels.
Does anyone seriously think that things will be better with Trump and his team handling things ? Really ? The trick is not to think about it too much now, isn't it ? 😅
Scotty is shooting himself in the foot bigtime, making these ignorant political videos. There is a very good reason most big YT personalities don't mess around with right-wing politics.
It's only doing what we asked it to do. We want perfect security from all dangers the world has on offer and no such thing exists. We get what the hell we vote for.
We had a few more folks do their home work this election and a different outcome. Now if the elected congressmen and senators will do their jobs. The Titanic could not turn on a dime!
Very nice, except for one quibble. The US government doesn't "need" to fund all of the programs that it's running. Probably 90% of these government programs are prohibited by the 10th Amendment, and actually do more harm than good. Eliminating these programs would be a good first start.
Um.. Because Tariifs already in place, say for example , A BYD, has 100% already on it.... And guess what, you cant make an American vehicle as cheap...... Thus , the expense........ EG.. BYD EV .. 30K>>>>>>PLKUS 100% Trrifs , now costs 60K.. US manufactured model cant compete,..... yet will cost 50K... follow? Cars could be 30K.... but they aren't.. are they.
NAH. Scotty could pass as a mechanic, but he don't know Jack Schitt about America's economics. And neither does the 6-times-bankrupted, convicted-felon Donald J. Trump.
First time I've ever said this about anybody's videos that's 13 minutes of my life I'll never get back thanks Scotty for wasting my time all your other information is great by the way but politics is definitely not your strong suit it's not like anybody gives a fuk we're still going to buy cars and cars are going to break down and people are going to need them fixed and people are still going to buy junk cars
After I raised up to 825k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for loans we got from the mortgage company . Glory to God.shalom.

That was a good presentation Scotty. Despite the US dept some Americans still prosper. "The top 1% of US households have seen their wealth grow by almost 300% since 1989. In March 2024, the wealth of the top 1% reached a record $44 trillion."

You will be stronger.
cheers! / CS
Thank you!

The continuous increase in National Debt is the same in most western countries.
In fact, most of the increase in GDP over the last 40 years is actually debt and public sector spending.
By Republicans.
debt is not the only important thing! Look at your interest that you are paying! The US, mainly because of the Republicans, can't pay it's debt back because you guys are nearing the 1 trilliong dollars just in paying the interest on the debt, while recieving 4 trillions and 6 trillions going out! Taxing the companies is what drove them away. A company has to be competitive. Most stuff today is made outside the US because it was the only way for a company to survive.

The problem is that Russia, China and Japan can build the same aircraft carrier for One Tenth the cost. Why can't we?
Not exactly. Parts of infrastructure are paid for with debt. But the debt is paid off with a broader tax base.
The problem occurs when taxes are used for additional spending, instead of paying off the debt.
