I use my sponge over and over. The trick is to slightly dip the sponge in acetone and not saturate it. Then dab, dab, dab. You may have to do this 3-4 times to get the sponge clean. There may still be some color left, but it doesn’t affect the sponge for the next use. 😊 TFS!
JayKB Yes...the technique works well with water when using acrylics too. The sponge might not look pretty afterwards, but as long as it doesn’t affect the next use, I don’t really mind. 😊 The sponges will always expand when using any type of liquid.
I think it's a pass for me. I can't believe a sponge would be a one time only use. And then not to be able to purchase replacement sponges. Seems like a bit of a waste. I liked the video, and hope you'll continue to keep trying out new nail art tools!
...or don't use acetone on the sponge. non-acetone nail polish remover will allow for multiple uses with nail lacquer. gel polishes are the best option; easily cleaned with isopropanol.
Im sorry but if a customer can only use the sponge once and pieces of it come off during application, why on earth would that receive 4/5 stars? I tottaly disagree with the rating, but thank you for showing the product.
I love how you used it with acrylic paint. The sponge brush I think was first designed by Morya for gel polish gradients. I use mine with gel polish and clean it with alchohol. Works great.
what if you washed out the acetone side with water after? i think leaving the acetone in may have done something to the plastic in the sponge. good review, though!
I have this nail art sponge tool and I use it only with Acrylic paints because I get more use out it and it really does work nice to create ombre/gradient effects. Nice review =)
İt is cheap and this kind of sponge have smooth surface if you have so smooth you can use i think and some people making galaxy with home sponges different surfaces different textures 🍬
I've been thinking of buying one of these and despite the good job it does, having to replace the ends constantly seems to me to be a bit of a pain. Lovely work though.
Hard pass by me. $9 for a sponge that can be used once? I can get approximately 100 make up sponges with that amount and stab one with a pencil. No thanks.
This looks much prettier compared to what I use...I use a spring type clothespin to hold my cosmetic wedge sponges! My little DIY seems to be more economical too.
You used to be able to buy something called Spongit Sticks by Loew Cornell through the local craft stores...Michael's or Joanne's. They're in the art section, I believe. They come in different shapes. It's been awhile since I bought any so I'm not sure if they still carry them or how much they are now. Check them out. They might be less expensive than these and the ends are definitely smaller though not replaceable. Thanks for posting. 😊
eBay does have the sponges for sale in groups of five. I had the same experience with mine going flat. I kept misting it with water and letting it dry in between mistings. It did come back to its original shape. So far I haven't tried it again....??
Sandy, I have something to ask you that I am constantly trying to own the cutepolish nail paint set but the nail paints are either out of stock or not available in shopncla.com please tell me what should I do now?
pass for me as well replacing the tool each time you use it would be a pain I think I will stick with my good old makeup sponges... and well kitchen sponges for a harder look... great job as always
I wonder if a hack could be discovered to have a handle with the wedge sponges. I love the idea of this but the tips have me saying no because of the one time use with polish thing. I'll have to get creative and see what I can DIY!

Thanks. I tried just repeatedly misting it with water. That brought it back. I will try your way next.
Thanks so much for the tip!!
HannahRoxNails I forgot to mention that the piece is also plastic and the acetone will melt it. I had a disaster the first time I tried to use it. Lol

Thanks, it worked

It's not just a one-time use. You just have to play with it. Read through the comments.😃

Ah thanks for the tip!! Will have to try that :)
Im sorry but if a customer can only use the sponge once and pieces of it come off during application, why on earth would that receive 4/5 stars? I tottaly disagree with the rating, but thank you for showing the product.
I guess I was rating it mainly on how it well it worked! But I do agree since most people use polish that is it a bit wasteful. Thanks for watching!
HannahRoxNails im glad you reviewed it. I was thinking about buying it, but you saved me some $.
Thetriggered One i Agreed👍🏻

Great review. I love how detailed it was. Also, awesome gradients. I wish I could make gradients like these.
Thanks so much for watching!
What a gimmick and very wasteful. Seriously you can't use a regular sponge?
İt is cheap and this kind of sponge have smooth surface if you have so smooth you can use i think and some people making galaxy with home sponges different surfaces different textures 🍬
wow with the acrylic paint the colors blends so well and I can't even tell where the color begins or ends!
I've been thinking of buying one of these and despite the good job it does, having to replace the ends constantly seems to me to be a bit of a pain. Lovely work though.

Read through the comments. It can be revived, if not avoided.😃
Thanks for watching!
JayKB I saw this early, so there weren't a lot of constructive comments yet. Just a load of "first!" comments 🙄😉
You are probably the world’s best nail artist!
Was curious about these, but I think I will be sticking with makeup sponges😊 TFS!
Early Squad! 😍😍
I think it's better to use makeup sponges, they're more affordable.
Anum Shahzad my thoughts exactly.
That is true! I love using makeup sponges! :)
I use a Fluval sponge filter...yes they are for fish aquariums...

Hard pass by me. $9 for a sponge that can be used once? I can get approximately 100 make up sponges with that amount and stab one with a pencil. No thanks.

Can you do a video on cleaning nail brushes? I clean mine with nail polish remover but they end up hard and stiff.
they already have one :)
Paulina Gord oh thanks :)
This looks much prettier compared to what I use...I use a spring type clothespin to hold my cosmetic wedge sponges! My little DIY seems to be more economical too.
Could non-acetone nail polish remover help with preserving the sponge?
If you clean the sponge with isopropyl alcohol, it retains its shape and texture.
Its so much easier to paint your nails with two colors and after that you can blend the colors with thr sponge
I'm gonna stick to makeup sponges
The sponge is soo cute lived it and this video too 😍😙❤
Your nail art talent is beautiful! You should do more nail hacks. You're so creative and make my nails amazing!

Did I use the sponge uncorrectly? When use it the nail polish barely come off from the sponge. It looks transparent on my nail
I prefer the blue and white one
Love this channel, one of my first subscriptions when I joined YT! Just curious, but was the glitter polish sinful colors pride?

Read through the comments. It isn't a one-time use.
If you use a "spring" type clothespin, it works like a charm!
Idk why but this tool looks cute..😋
Haha i agree!
I love it I’m gonna buy it😂
This very useful except the fact that the other side looked like it shrunk but other than that I liked it

What type of acrylic paint?
Just regular crafting paint :)
HannahRoxNails thank you!
I have trouble with products that are supposed to make a project easier but aren't better than what is already used.
Tfs
I was under the impression that this sponge was for gel polish only. Clean with alcohol.
رووعه حيبتي 😘
P.S. Please try reviving sponge and possibly redo this video?
