So funny you mentioned satch because as you were first playing that chord and explaining it I was immediately thinking of mystical potatoe then it flashed to the Pic of his album. Awesome lesson! Thank you!
Not being through the whole video yet, I have to say, that I absolutely love this! Be it the arpeggios themselves or as a whole concept for new colours and possibilities. I'll surely try to add that to "my own style". And let's be honest here: not many videos on youtube achieve this state for someone. Mostly, it's "nice to try" or "fun to practice" etc. But there are certain things (for me, mostly kind of concepts), that will really add to someone's skill set. And this is such a video! So thank you, David! Love your channel since years! Always gold somewhere in there. ;) Cheers (Prost!) aus Deutschland! Viele Grüße, Markus.
“Stir things up, and change them.” I like your attitude! By the way, Andy Summers got a lot of mileage with stacked fifths. I enjoyed your presentation, and learned a thing or two.
Hi David…I’m an old friend of Shawn’s from the Memphis area. I love your channel so much. You’re the best man !! Peace and love my dear brother. Take care. ~fasteagle
Also, the Satriani arpeggio that Power Cosmic utilises was from a practice exercise he developed called Endless Rain. His students called it Endless Pain :)
Fantastic lesson ! The major one can be looked at as a B7 if you move the bass note to the 1st string - I’ll have to explore some B7 or even F# minor sounds under it to find some more opportunities to use it.
Scott was on faculty at G.I.T. during the two semesters I was there 2015-2016 and I'd see him have office hours but I was intimidated, he had classes with advanced students only and I was very much a beginner, still am! ;)
Hey man, please could you do a chord play or at least something on the Ozric Tentacles. Ed Wynne is one of THE most underrated guitarists on the planet he is amazing. If you haven’t heard any of their stuff you should really check them out.
Hey man, I actually did a GWAR Chordplay last year for Metal Month and it was in costume/character. Check it out - it was really fun to make! ruclips.net/video/o9zROwhpKSg/видео.html
that was pretty clever. thanks Dave.
I love that guitar

Fantastic. Love the sound of stacked 5th. A good way of playing complex chords full of extensions !

Excellent video. Scotty Hill uses this idea almost verbatim in "I remember you". These deep dive breakdowns are awesome. 👍
Thanks Dave ... great lesson
