I’ve got mine it took ages to come to me but at least I have him now I let him settle into his enclosure for two days before I started taking him out for handling
Congrats, he's gorgeous! I love the intelligence you can see in monitors' eyes. You can almost see them thinking. I'll be following your progress with this lovely little guy - I'm strongly considering putting together a Zen Habitat and getting an Ackie...
He's so adorable Emma 🙂. I'm not very keen on Ackie monitors, how big do they get? He's also a pretty quick little guy, that was really cool seeing him eat the crickets. I volunteered at a reptile pet store when I was younger and the owner had a water monitor that he'd let me take for walks that was 6'3" long and his name was George. He was so sweet and I loved hanging out with him. Your Ackie obviously already loves you very much and I can tell that you love your pets so much. You both are so lucky to have eachother 🙂. Can't wait to see your next video, take care 🙂🤗.
Nice ackie Emma, This quarantine cage u have is actually a pretty good size and your ackie can stay in it for aprox 6 months, then they become much more active and they will need a bigger tank one were they can actually run in if possible, So have fun with your ackie, U will not regret buying this reptile i swear ;)
I really want an ackie monitor but as you mentioned they aren’t very easy to find so congrats!! He/she is very beautiful,( you are to of course), so good luck on your new pet.🤗😋😊
This is the video I have been waiting forever!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I think you should name your Ackie Tod,or Amber, or Topaz!)
OMG he is soooooooo cute😍😍😍😍😍 Congratulations with your new pet love to see when he gets to live in his big boy tank. Love your channel 😘😘 Lots of love form the Netherlands
Ackie monitors love getting on top of your head and digging around in your hair, especially if you're outside with them on a warm day, they love sunbathing on your head. They also like to crawl into your hoodie on a colder day, and will just stay against your skin, just letting you know. :)
Love Ackies!!! I almost got one when I was working at Big Al’s Aquarium Services, but the two we ordered showed up with missing toes all around and were overly aggressive for juveniles.
can you do a video putting together and talking about bioactive tanks? i want to switch my crested gecko into a bioactive tank but i don’t exactly know all of the details :)
I hope u can close that hatch on top of the cage because they will jump from someplace and klimb upsidedown on the top and than they will open your cage if its not closed trust me.
Hay congrats on your new addition They love to climb high and bask they enjoy being at the top of a branch watching everything. He’s very very cute so happy for you 😀
Should really have him on rock for his hotspot. Also I know he's in quarantine but still ackies should be in permanent shed so you need that 60-30 sand and soil mix substrate so he keeps all those fingers.
I wish I tried to handle my little dude when I got him home lol I'll probably not be able to pick him up for like 5 months or so. I made the mistake of giving him a big ass bio-active enclosure right off the bat with tons of hiding places. He comes out and explores and doesn't appear to be afraid of me at all, just not interested in being friends yet haha.
Isn't this one of the babies from Mike and Cody's trio of yellow ackies? (Mike Tytula) Because they had a clutch of eggs and I can remember that buisness card fsr. I wish my parents let me buy a reptile. I've done so much research yet I can't get a gecko :( Anyways good luck with you're little buddy and a lot of fun ofcourse!
Although quarantining him is good, I would highly suggest not keeping him on paper towel along with the screen top. At that age they will be growing quite rapidly and the humidity will be drastically to low. He will need some deep humid substrate to burrow in which will help with his shedding and avoid loosing any toes. Happened to me with my first Ackie, super sad. He ended up loosing most of his back toes, had him on paper towels for 1 month because I was leaving my dorm from college and the substrate that I had gotten him had manurer in it so I threw that away and just thought he would be ok for a month before leaving home. Awesome little guy and wish you the best of luck
🌲i am very pleased and happy for you emma that you have finally recieved you monitor🎉🌲.As you mentioned, you have put so much time and work, and effort into finding this beautiful little guy. He has the best home in the world with you.🌲So great.
Girl I definitely thought you lived in Ontario until you posted about moving here on your Instagram. I split my time between Ontario and Nova Scotia for family!
Why don't you name him something related to Australia? Ackie monitors are very common and native in a lot of parts of Aus so that could be quite cute. Simpson or Tanami after deserts they can be found in... or Stuart because of the Stuart Highway which is a Highway that runs through native areas.
I think a black-throated monitor and species not breeds. Breeds are animals that are the same kind but have different characteristics; cats, dogs, rabbits. Species are completely different like crested geckos, leopard geckos, chinchillas and hamsters.
In the first seconds of this video I was like "what is up with this girls nails" lol. Thought it was hilarious that you addressed that. Thanks for the videos.
Oh my goodness! I have two baby savannah monitors and when they do that adorable little head shake, it is just the most adorable thing in the world! I think they will one day be full grown, eating large mice and I will still say, "oh, they're so adorable!" As they shake it to death... 😂
'so I can monitor him'
Nice, subtle, love it
I noticed that too! “So I can *monitor* him”
16:03 I stg that was cutest damn thing I've ever seen.
Your ackie rapidly reaching out his arms is the funniest thing I've ever seen😂❤❤❤
I agree
Call him QC for quality control because quality control "monitors" everything 😊
You should name him Acorn!
Omg thats such a cute name
I actually think that's fitting & adorable too!
Or Ackie.
I’ve got mine it took ages to come to me but at least I have him now I let him settle into his enclosure for two days before I started taking him out for handling
Glad to see you finally got one, I remember you talked about stocking the enclosure(s). Glad to see you in better spirits. Bless you Emma...❤
Congrats, he's gorgeous! I love the intelligence you can see in monitors' eyes. You can almost see them thinking. I'll be following your progress with this lovely little guy - I'm strongly considering putting together a Zen Habitat and getting an Ackie...

What a cute little guy! Haha I don't name my animals much, either. I leave that to the toddler. That means mostly Frozen-themed names

Grats on the new ackie, excited for you!
Good thing about Australia is that reptiles like the Ackie can be found nearby and in stock since they are native
Your monitor is so cute!! I’m happy to see a video about it after seeing the adorable twitter photos! 🥰
I really want an ackie monitor but as you mentioned they aren’t very easy to find so congrats!! He/she is very beautiful,( you are to of course), so good luck on your new pet.🤗😋😊

Congratulations on getting your new reptile. He is so beautiful 😍 🦎🦎
From what breeder did you get your ackie? I live in Calgary so it would be really convenient for me. Thanks
She showed the business card at the beginning of the video.
Keep his name as Anol. It suits him
😂
Love Ackies!!! I almost got one when I was working at Big Al’s Aquarium Services, but the two we ordered showed up with missing toes all around and were overly aggressive for juveniles.
That is exciting. So happy for you!
can you do a video putting together and talking about bioactive tanks? i want to switch my crested gecko into a bioactive tank but i don’t exactly know all of the details :)
serpa design in youtube has amazing videos about bioactive tanks :) hope this helps!!
I hope u can close that hatch on top of the cage because they will jump from someplace and klimb upsidedown on the top and than they will open your cage if its not closed trust me.
Hay congrats on your new addition
They love to climb high and bask they enjoy being at the top of a branch watching everything. He’s very very cute so happy for you 😀
Early and congratulations🎊👏💖
Was there any air holes?
Please kipling jr. Like mrs. Kipling from jessie
Yes!
and in honor of Cameron Boyce
You could call him something like Ares or Hades... I dont know why but I like those names. Also he is so cute!!
omg i'm so happy for you, he is perfect!!!
Thank you!
Should really have him on rock for his hotspot. Also I know he's in quarantine but still ackies should be in permanent shed so you need that 60-30 sand and soil mix substrate so he keeps all those fingers.
Jenna Marbles voice: "Is your eyckee going to grOw?"
Bug Mother what the fuck is an eyckee??
@@waterb3ar ackie :P
Hes so cute! I'm from Australia, and those guys are native to here. Its my goal to have one, one day. Not for a few years though
I wish I tried to handle my little dude when I got him home lol I'll probably not be able to pick him up for like 5 months or so. I made the mistake of giving him a big ass bio-active enclosure right off the bat with tons of hiding places. The yum add is something you would see on the old Disney channel
This little guy is quit a hunter and so hungry hehe. So my suggestion for a name is "HUNTER"
It’s hard getting anything in Canada.
Isn't this one of the babies from Mike and Cody's trio of yellow ackies?
(Mike Tytula)
Because they had a clutch of eggs and I can remember that buisness card fsr.

Is that breeder still around? I tried using the information from the card and can’t find anything online, but maybe I am looking it up wrong.
I can't tell - do you think he's cute??
😜 Okay but jokes aside he really is adorable
Yeah he is and I just subscribed to your channel I live animals and your channel looks cool 😎
@@presleymendoza3485 Awesome, thanks!
Not sure why but the name 'jerry' is really speaking to me

I live in a climate where it’s around 80% humidity most days. Maintaining humidity isn’t much of an issue for me
Emma Lynne Sampson well that’s definitely awesome lol I live In Arizona, humidity is very low
🌲i am very pleased and happy for you emma that you have finally recieved you monitor🎉🌲.As you mentioned, you have put so much time and work, and effort into finding this beautiful little guy.
He has the best home in the world with you.🌲So great.
I got my two monitors quite quickly 😊 Gojira and Ghidorah are still very skittish though, I live in England :)
im so fuckin happy that she put the unboxing in this video, not many people do that
Ok so the fact that he was in an all out battle with the crickets was adorable lol
He is precious! 😍😍 Ackie Monitors are such darlings. I suggest a name that would play on his small size
Omg Emma he’s absolutely adorable 🥰
So cute ! I called my young one Stitch, but I hesitate to call him Ash or pikatchu as a pokemon reference ^^
Good video :)
Call him Noel, so it sounds like anole... so he is literally a Noel... plus it’s really cute 🥰 his full name could be Noelan?
A name suggestion: Arlo ♥️♥️
Yes! From the Good Dinosaur!
he’s baby 🥺
Girl I definitely thought you lived in Ontario until you posted about moving here on your Instagram. I split my time between Ontario and Nova Scotia for family!
He sure is the most cutest lizard ever
Been waiting for this vid!!! I think you should name him Almond the Ackie Monitor!
Name ideas: Akiti (like ackie-tea), dreamer, Beans, or waldo because it'll be hard to find his lil self in that big fancy cage
DID YOU SEE ITS HAND when you were taking it out
Is he a red ackie or a yellow ackie?
Yellow!
Emma Lynne Sampson He is awesome!
Why don't you name him something related to Australia? Ackie monitors are very common and native in a lot of parts of Aus so that could be quite cute. Simpson or Tanami after deserts they can be found in... or Stuart because of the Stuart Highway which is a Highway that runs through native areas.
I just bought mine from my local reptile store back in 2014 (UK)
I think Bowser is a cute name ☺️
Looking into getting one, had savannah monitors in the past, idk
I love your vids so much i just have 1 question.... Is Taylor ok where is she???
Also name suggestions: Toasty, Dots, Maveric, Jester, Pete, Cinnamon or Bags/Pockets
Can you make an ackie monitor care video
Just for the time being so I can Monitor him. GET IT !
Doesn’t Taylor Nicole dean have a ackie monitor or does she have a different breed of monitor
I think a black-throated monitor and species not breeds. Breeds are animals that are the same kind but have different characteristics; cats, dogs, rabbits. Species are completely different like crested geckos, leopard geckos, chinchillas and hamsters.
Thank you 😊 that was helpful
Omg I’m so happy for you 😘
He totally reminds me of the Geico lizard even though they are not the same.
I keep thinking of the character Joanna from The Rescuers Down Under. I know they are different species...but still
How is one so small so calm?
i love your passion 👏👏👏
He’s so cute, I love him
No air holes ?
In the first seconds of this video I was like "what is up with this girls nails" lol. Thought it was hilarious that you addressed that. Thanks for the videos.
IT's soo gute i'm looking forward to hearing more from him😍🥰

Good for you! Exited to see it grow :3
What breeder did you get your Ackie from in Calgary?
Just wanna say I don't own any reptiles and still love watching your channel. Love your vids.
So cute! How big will he get?
I live in Canada, Ontario and I know a few people who have them and breed them, they are so cute , wish I had room for one!
Nice Monitors however the price doesn't match wow factor. I enjoy the big Monitors and Tegus.
