I miss the claybuildup and the damstandard from the free version. But luckily i have nomadsculpt, like the guys at maxon (10:03)! :D

I love zbrush for Ipad😊. And I think it is affordable.
I look forward to the zmodeller and I hope we also get micro mesh on top of what is already there😊.
I have 3 birthday wishes. A solid texture painting app for Ipad (like substance painter, or mari), a rewrite (modern UI/UX design) of desktop zbrush And bigger Ipads.

I really wish they had a way to save views and put in some reference images. Being able to do that initial noodling and form finding is what excites me the most about having the ZB brush engine on iPad.

I only scanned through the presentation but only person actually doing some sculpting was J Hill and he was using keyboard.. because as I said previously you can't seriously operate Zbrush on tablet just with fingers (3 fingers gestures yeee ) and pen. Also people mentioning you can't assign own shortcuts? So for a $2k for ipad nad $90 sub you will get a small screen device, with half of the screen blocked by your hand, and usable (maybe) only with keyboard. So sculpting in bed is probably possible now but it will fck your neck and wrists very fast. Also I can replicate this with my Samsung tablet as second monitor for a laptop with desktop perpetual Zbrush + bluetooth keyboard.

    • @AlHowell
      @AlHowell  4 месяца назад

Yeah, I think that I will eventually use a keyboard. Or at least a chopped one. Ctrl, alt, shift etc

@@AlHowell I was looking for something like just left side of keyboard but didn't find anything. Only bluetooth numpads, Huion Keydial mini or wacom express key. I would prefer something like panel of two rows of buttons which could be attached to the tablet, that would be perfect.

You really don’t need it change those goofy icons to key labels and you’ll see it’s just ctrl, alt, shift and space on modifier wheel. You also use alt navigation like you always have in Zbrush.

I am quite impressed by what Maxon was able to give us with this first version of zbrush. I didn't expect something like live booleans to be in the first version. However the fact that zmodeler was not there, disappointed me quite a bit since I think it is a fundamental brush, much more than other brushes that are frankly not very useful. But everything looks very promising, I hope Maxon updates this software and doesn't abandon it like Forger.

    • @AlHowell

I was surprised too! Zmodeler is in the works though

@@AlHowell if they get Zmodeler out fairly soon it could be the first legitimately powerful polygon modeling tool on iPad. Been kind of waiting for something that lets me work directly with polygons.

    • @AlHowell

That’s so true. Hopefully they take their time and nail it though. I’d rather have that then just throwing it in there half baked

The iPad only subscription is not gonna be popular for most people. Those people are gonna mostly stick with Nomad, and rightfully so. But for people already using Zbrush (who can afford to upgrade to one of the newer iPads) this is gonna be great.

It looks promising, it only works with a few iPad models, and I’m not sure if they’ll support Android. I’ll stick with the free version since I don’t use ZBrush in desktop anymore.

@@AlHowell I recently tried the iPad version and really liked it-until I tried working with ZSpheres. I ended up spending 30 minutes googling how to convert a ZSphere to adaptive skin. I was also surprised to find that it doesn't support exporting to OBJ files for the free version.

Zbrush For Ipad is going to be something! Think about something. The closest to Zbrush we have had of this is Zbrush core and Sculptris which were free. Now as far as the price, Are you kidding me? Do you know the running joke on the internet was about Zbrush. Yeah you can get Zbrush for the desktop....if you can get past the 899 dollar price tag! For 9.99 monthly or 89.99! Maxon has finally saw the light to the fact that I know it takes development but 899 dollars aint going to get it especially when you have Blender crushing it for free and people are choosing that over Zbrush! This is a deal that even if you don't have an Ipad will make you get one. Let's see how this turns out! The only question is. How is the export to Obj going to work out. We will see. Thank you for this. God bless!

@@AlHowell There is one thing that will never change. Zbrush will always have a subscription. The more popular the product, a subscription is coming. Thank God it is low.
