BTW thanks for the video. I am in the middle of motorizing 2 Titan 12 propel kayaks. I used your info and video as a basis for everything I am building. BTW don't bother answering my previous question about the vents. I found your info in the previous comments from other posts.
Hey John your parts list is incomplete. Where did you get the intake and and exhaust vents for the fans and what are the part numbers. What crimp connectors did you use to hook up the wiring to the pwm.
I found the cord you used to be to stretchy. I switched to using weed trimmer line and it has absolutely no stretch. I will find out how durable it is as I use the motor. I am using round trimmer string .095 diameter.
I ran to Home Depot this morning and just finished building the steering box. I decided to do the criss-crossing in the box itself by putting the left line in the right exit hole, and the right line in the left exit hole. I also angled these holes a bit to avoid friction and potentially cutting the line. Now I just need to figure out a way to give the handle less play inside the box, although I suppose it'll move less once there's tension from the rest of the line. Such a simple and beautiful design. I'm so grateful the algorithm put you on my path. You have not only saved me money, but got me moving forward with my kayak build out of pure excitement. Once again, thank you!
