    These videos are meant to be educational and funny, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
    0:00 Intro - Click show more under the video to read more.
    0:05 The owner's vehicle was a lifted school bus out of all things. Either way maintenance on differentials and other drivetrain components are always important, especially when using your vehicle in severe conditions.
    0:18 Must have not drove the best as well. A simple fix for the mechanic! Then an alignment was done afterwards as per the customers request.
    0:28 The rear window was smashed out causing the wind noise and the vehicle not being properly sealed.
    0:41 GMC/Chevy pickup truck. A very common issue to see on these vehicles and can be easily fixed with a new cross member for the rear shocks. Hopefully, the customer will get it fixed.
    0:59 The customer bought the vehicle used (private sale) and did not know the vehicle didn't have navigation/maps. An important reason to read your owner's manual and make sure the vehicle you're purchasing has the features you want.
    1:08 Maybe the customer was trying to stop a dash rattle. The shop isn't sure why the customer had attempted to do this.
    1:18 The vehicle was just in for an oil change when the technician noticed all of this spray foam underneath this SUV.
    1:27 Maybe the customer's "friend" damaged the cylinder head in the process of installing the timing belt. The technician said he really did not get a full story and this whole thing was a mess.
    1:48 Customer was pressing the phone buttons hard enough to honk the horn, as it's all one assembly.
    2:12 Customer paid to get the wheel locks removed.
    2:25 Booger welds were removed and the exhaust was repaired.
    2:35 The customer said he was trying to beat the door but ripped off the roof rack on his SUV instead.
    2:45 Goose noise was caused by the ABS pump.
    2:56 Probably not the best spot for their emergency kit. If anything the emergency kit will cause an emergency.
    3:05 Always be careful what you put in your garbage cans if you work in a shop. Especially if you weld, use a torch, grinder etc. Make sure to have the appropriate containers for soiled rags, etc.
    3:14 Outro. Thanks for watching!

Hell, I "repaired" one of my spark plug boots with super glue and radiator hose tape. It saved me a couple hundred dollars (can't buy just the boot or just the wires) and has lasted some years now.

      Well, that depends on the type of filth. There is trash filth like food and cups and such. Then you have chainsmoker filth, then you have pet filth (I've seen cars absolutely covered in dog hair, then saw the dog and realized that was probably a weeks worth of dog hair lol), then you have hoarder filth, drug addict filth, stoner filth, and many others. Just looking at a car and seeing it dirty doesn't tell the whole story. I for one wash my daily driver once or twice a year. More if they put salt on the roads. Why? The paint WAS good until the dumbasses of the area kept denting and dinging it to the point I finally said screw it. No point in keeping the outside clean when you get new scratches and dings every week because of the inconsiderate pricks. I do keep my windows really clean because dirty windows annoy the crap out of me.

    The "wind noise" complaint reminded me of when I first opened the sunroof at speed in my previous car and was greeted by an incredible noise and buffeting like a helicopter gunship was keeping formation overhead. I could barely hold a yelled conversation with my passenger, let alone hear the radio or audible warnings. It turned out there was a pop-up "spoiler" at the front of the sunroof with four slotted holes that were still covered by factory-fitted protective film. Removing the film allowed the air to flow freely and the noise and vibration was gone. The funny thing is that the car was bought used, and the previous owner had driven it for three and a half years with that film in place. I can only assume that she never used the sunroof, or that she'd been happy to live through a recreation of _Apocalypse Now_ every time she did.

    I am 95% certain the spray foam behind the dash is a rattle/squeak fix. Had something similar with my 06 Scion. About 6 months after I bought it (brand new) it started to squeak. The dealership couldn't/wouldn't fix it under warranty, so I had to remove the center console fascia and put a piece of double sided, thick tape at a specific spot. Never squeaked again.

    • @swmovan
      @swmovan 3 месяца назад +5

      For some reason, your comment reminded me of a squeak coming from the right back seat. But I don't think about it unless I notice it while driving. And it usually(not always) only does it when my granddaughter is in the back. I just may go check that out, while it's on my mind.

    • @gwinbeer
      @gwinbeer 3 месяца назад +1

      I’ve been using felt tape or the German brand Tesa electrical tape for years. But finding the source of the rattle is always a challenge. Spray foam sounds like a great option for that application in the video, if it did work.

    'Customer was advised that his vehicle did not have a navigation system.' Some years ago I had a friend who worked as a tech for a Chrysler dealer. Someone traded a very clean, low-miles, Dodge Dakota so the the dealership put it up for sale on their used lot. The truck sold very quickly and was returned a couple of days later. My friend was handed the work order, 'AC does not blow cold, check and advise. " My friend looked at the truck, and went back to the service writer to ask him it this was some kind of joke. Service adviser looked at the truck and it took him a few minutes to realize that truck did not have AC. They called the customer and it about an hour to explain that the truck was built without AC.

      A good chunk of America requires inspections too, but from what I have heard it is pretty easy to just add a bit of extra cash to "convince" the inspector that there is no issue. Where I live inspections aren't required, but most of us take pretty good care of our vehicles anyway.

    That Kia dealer footage is about what I'd expect from anybody willing to do business with those crooks. Took my '06 Elantra in for a new AC blower motor, my mom (who legally owned the car at the time) insisted on going to the Kia dealer instead of the Hyundai dealer that did all the other work on the car and had a great reputation. Those scumbags tried to charge me $400 for replacing the blower motor when all they did was recharge the Freon, which big surprise, didn't fix the issue. They gave me the car back, I get in, nothing works and I have to storm back inside and they actively tried to fight me that they did replace the blower motor and that it's probably a fusebox issue. Got them to refund the money after about 30 minutes of arguing and showing them it didn't blow at all and eventually the tech did admit he didn't replace the blower. I ended up being late for work because of having to fight them. Bought a $40 blower motor and replaced it myself. Surprise surprise, that fixed it and the one we pulled out was old and worn, very obviously not freshly installed.
