After 6 months of sitting in storage the TrailBlogger Banshee 350 is coming out of retirement. Here is the first attempt to start after pulling it out and changing the fuel in the tank.
+NicoJay 4WD I was happy at first but then... unfortunately the bad gas was just the beginning of my problems. Things got much, much worse right after this was over.
But it was a step forward when it started, I think.. Sometimes I want to burn my Quad - it can be so frustrating :D So you have to make little achievements step by step - in my opinion :)
if you have to use starting fluid on your two stroke it needs a rebuild or at least the carbs cleaned. A good running two stroke will start first or second kick every time.
+Hammahtime Banshee Builda Mine normally sounds a lot better. Unfortunately this was just the beginning of my problems. Things got much, much worse after this.
I got it crunk bro i kept kicking it for like 20 mins straight and fired right up i had just the engine built so they say some time they be hard too crank after new build but thanks bro for the help
+StarPuss www.ToxicRedNeck.Com I know that feeling! wait for my next video! going to post another banshee update here soon. this video was recorded last week and a lot has happened since then. (Expensive things!)
I was going to say the carb might need to be cleaned out before the video got half way but you beat me to it lol, had to do it to my blaster after it was out for about 3 months while rebuilding top end of motor and getting new frame.
+Riven Hackney things got much much worse after this, I don't want to spill the beans but watch for another video coming soon about the banshee. let's just say things got really expensive after this video.
I have a banshee that is refusing to start. it has spark and I'm almost sure it's a fuel problem because when I spray carb cleaner at the air filters it starts up. I clean both carbs even though they were not dirty at all and made sure the jets were not clogged. I also made sure fuel was going to the carbs and it is. Any help would be appreciated I'm out of ideas and don't have the money to take to a mechanic. The engine was recently rebuilt and it was running strong until now and I put fresh gas.
Drain the tank. Add fresh premix fuel ( I like to mix at 32 to 1). If it won't start see if you have spark by holding one of the plugs against metal while you kick it over. If you have spark good. Now move onto fuel. If no spark. Start checking for loose connections or consider a new coil. Do a compression test on the cylinders to be sure they are holding good pressure 100 psi per side. If you have spark and compression now lets look at your fuel delivery. Are both of the the carbs getting fuel? Try draining them with the bowl drain valve and the petcock off and get the old fuel out of the bowls. If it still won't start take your carbs off and clean them. Pay special attention to the pilot jet and main jet. Clean with a small thin wire till you see daylight through them. While your carbs are off check your reed valves. They need to be sitting flat or they won't seal and work correctly. Install new gaskets and put your reeds back, reinstall intakes and then do a leak down test to be sure she is sealing up good.
Hi man I got a question I've seen your videos and saw u own both a banshee and yfz 450 I'm about to buy one and I'm in between on of this which one would you recommend better great videos by the way
+Louis Quinones It's a good question, YFZ450 or Banshee? I love them both but after 6 months of no riding you can see which one is getting the most attention first :-) I would say go Banshee but know that they can be a finicky. The YFZ450 can also be finicky but will run for a very long time in between rebuilds. In my opinion rebuilding a 4 stroke is a lot more work because you have to deal with valves. With two strokes the rebuild is a lot more easy to do yourself aside from maybe just getting the jugs bored out at a machine shop (which I am). The YFZ450 has a lot of low end, controllable type torque but the Banshee has that screaming top end with a 6 speed transmission. The YFZ450 tops out sooner and only has 5 speeds but on a true MX track I think it would be a lot easier to ride and do laps with. Hope that helps with your decision. Having never ridden with you it's hard for me to say what's best as each rider is different but I can tell you my opinion between the two is the Banshee.
+TrailBlogger thank you for the fast reply and I know is hard choosing one I've ride banshee before but never a yfz 450 so that's why I'm leaning more towards the banshee plus I heard the yfz can be more expensive to maintain than the banshee that I can be cheaper to rebuild or get fix what u think don't really know if true or not
+max21118 Yes I have been testing it out to be sure it will work good with the stock electronics before I recommended it to anyone. Haven't decided if I like it better than the KC or 4" LED pod lights.
+z skinner No I put fresh plugs in right before this also, sorry forgot to mention that part. Unfortunately things appear to be much, much worse. Stay tuned.
+John Tsunis I normally run 32 to 1 Blendzall 2 stroke oil but in this case I mixed at 40 to 1 because I owed Crazy D a gallon and he prefers it mixed at 40 to 1.
+brandon w They are ITP Spider Tracs. They actually came off an old Yamaha Warrior I bought awhile back. Guy was using them for his dune and snow tires.
Was your banshee still a 350 cc in this video ??? I’m only asking because my banshee “ was “ running good but now my lights don’t flicker when I kick start it anymore , I rode it last on Halloween night , both lights where working well and it started on second kick . Well when I took it to the desert to ride it , when I unloaded my banshee I let the front end of it drop as I unloaded it from the back of my truck . Then after like 20-30 kicks it started . I had the carbs rebuilt a few weeks ago so those are good . What I notice is that when I last rode it , the killswitch wouldn’t turn off the bike , only shutting it off with the ignition worked , odd . Also when I prime the banshee ( build up what compression I could ) to start it , I can hear the compression in each cylinder each time I go to prime it , I would think you should hear both cylinders at the same time Building compression , not one at a time building compression each time you kick it to prime it . Also I noticed in between the cylinders and the case on the right side , I see tranny fluid leaking a little in-between the cylinders and case . Do you have any ideas what could be my problem ??? A good guess haha . I refuse to give up on my banshee . I was thinking a full engine rebuild may do the trick . Plus whatever possible electric issue it may have . All my voltage regulator the black ground wire ripped in half when I was out riding , the previous owner removed the TORS .
Georgie Tamayo you need to do a compression test to see how much psi each cylinder is holding. Any less than 100 and you probably need to do a rebuild. A leak down test is also important and will tell you if you are leaking air through your seals. Both are important tests. If you are going to own a banshee its best to have both a compression tester and leak down tester
TrailBlogger = , ok thank you for your response , I assume I fried my lights then when I was out riding , because the black ground wire was ripped in half on my voltage regulator when I inspected it after I rode it . Also in your video your banshee sounds like it has great compression compared to mine , when I kick mine you cant hear the sound coming out the exhausts like your does lol , mine you can Bearly hear anything as your kicking mine ( mine feels weak and sounds weak as I’m kicking it ) . I bet it’s my compression plus I fried my lights out .
+Danny Lopez SOON! Need to get all the cob webs out first. Banshee needs some love. Shee still wasnt running right after we got done recording this and then things got much, much worse. Stay tuned. Posting another update about the Banshee and then hopefully a new trail video will be after that.
Noah my Banshee was running awesome put her in the barn n went 2 start her next morning n nothing I changed gas n going 2 start in on coils n other shit tomorrow if I don't go mad. Any ideas be nice.
+Marques Conerly They come tuned pretty lean from the factory to pass EPA standards. Need to open her up so she can breath better. Add a decent new exhaust pipe and fuel injection programmer plus a new air intake and she will run a lot better. You wont have to work the engine as hard to get more power out of it which in the end will make it last longer.
My motor was been sitting about 4 months covered up and stored proplery it has good compression and has spark but want crank yoy think i need too clean my carbs?
only take a few months for the gas in the carbs to turn into a nice jelly, you could try just draining the bowl and flushing the gas in your tank out with all fresh premix,
+Marques Conerly It will run lean if there are leaks around the intake boot. Look for cracks in the rubber. Do you have the stock exhaust pipe or an aftermarket exhaust? Most of the time when you install an aftermarket exhaust you also install a programmer with it that you can use to adjust the mixture if it is too lean or rich.
+Marques Conerly sounds like it might be running lean. Do you have a fuel injection programmer installed? Have you checked you intake boot for leakage?
its normal with an aftermarket exhaust for the 1stfew inches of theheaders to glow. my 660 hasbeen doing it for years but I only notice it in the dark.
Kenneth Daeke normally a glowing header on a four stroke means your mixture is a little lean. for the YFZ450 I just had to rejet it with a larger pilot jet and main jet then it ran much better and the header doesnt glow anymore.
TrailBlogger maybe its different on the yfz, but a lot of people on raptorforum say its normal with aftermarket (thin) headers. According to my spark plug my mixture is good. again that's in the dark, if its glowing in daylight lean for sure.
+marks79luv no my intake boots are fine, Shee still wasnt running right after we got done recording this and then things got much, much worse. Stay tuned.
+Joseph Ross (Modelking1000) lol it's all good. I kind of left you all hanging there thinking I didn't know already just so you guys could get an idea of all the stuff we tried before the eventual total tear down and rebuild. it's hard to know when it is something simple you should be looking for or catastrophic level failure like what happened with mine.
+TrailBlogger Exactly. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's bad gas or a fouled plug, or in your case a blown engine... lol Besides, It's better to start with the cheapest fix.
I can't figure out how to private message you but my cousin has a banshee that's been sitting for years and I want to buy it for about 2 grand is it a good deal and any tips to get it running again I want to take it to apex in Las Vegas where I live
I don't understand??? I've been riding dirt bikes/quads for about 30 years. I have never seen anyone kick a bike like that. Your foot needs to stay on the lever so you can feel pressure build and let you know when its Top Dead Center (TDC).. I don't understand this very awkward kicking method.
+HARD ENDURO Are you talking about the part where I put it in fast forward while I was kicking it?? I cut out the upward stroke on a couple of kicks so that might have been what looked weird to you...
+HARD ENDURO Your comment did remind me of the very first dirt bike I ever owned which was a KTM 420 two stroke monster. I was only about 13 or 14 and it was my first kicker bike instead of a pull cord start mini bike or electric start motorcycle. That thing had so much compression I had to jump off a stump or round of firewood to get it to kick over because I wasn't tall enough yet to straddle it. Kicker was on the left side!
+TrailBlogger but on a serious note how often i just got a yfz and never had a sport quad so how often should to give them a tume up or look for things that go wrong over time
Dieonte P123 With the YFZ the main thing is going to be doing oil changes, keeping your chain tight and lubed, and checking your valves or taking them in to a mechanic to have them checked. I forget the exact maintenance interval but that and all other things to keep an eye on are listed in your manual. It's a good thing to read over if you want to keep her running in top shape.
That feeling when it finally starts 😅
+NicoJay 4WD I was happy at first but then... unfortunately the bad gas was just the beginning of my problems. Things got much, much worse right after this was over.
But it was a step forward when it started, I think..
Sometimes I want to burn my Quad - it can be so frustrating :D
So you have to make little achievements step by step - in my opinion :)
+NicoJay 4WD I was thinking the same thing, that we had it mostly fixed, I was so happy at first- but then...
So what was all the problems you ran into after this?
she done blown uo!
Nothing kills a Banshee.....when it runs. Love the green.
it usually does run hahha
Starting fluid, works like a charm everytime.
+RETROSTEEZSKATE total rebuild top and bottom worked also lol
+RETROSTEEZSKATE checkout my new Banshee 350 rebuild video... ruclips.net/video/esbWJTRFYWQ/видео.html
RETROSTEEZSKATE where do u spray it at on the carburetor cause i just tried dat and it still wont start
if you have to use starting fluid on your two stroke it needs a rebuild or at least the carbs cleaned. A good running two stroke will start first or second kick every time.
I think its the cheap carbs i bought off ebay lol lol
The faces lol
just trying to add some more emotion to my videos haha
Ahhh man nice to see and hear the TrailBlogger Banshee scream again!!
+Jones m4n117 (Jones m4n117) unfortunately right after this things got much, much worse.
+TrailBlogger Oh no! something mortally wrong with her?!
Jones m4n117 not mortal, but she will require serious surgery
banshee idles have the best sound! 😊
+Hammahtime Banshee Builda Mine normally sounds a lot better. Unfortunately this was just the beginning of my problems. Things got much, much worse after this.
Love ur videos keep it up can't wait for more bad ass banshee vides
+4x4 outlaw I can't wait to get out there and ride again!
Man i wait for this videos for so long in new york we dont see none of this only in the summer
+Ray Torres I can't wait to get out there and ride again!
I got it crunk bro i kept kicking it for like 20 mins straight and fired right up i had just the engine built so they say some time they be hard too crank after new build but thanks bro for the help
Good luck dude :), just fixed a banshee with the same problem lol.
+Jeremy Miguire (Raptor Killa) unfortunately that was just the beginning of my problems. Things got much, much worse after this.
That deeper problem is what I'm talking about, I won't spill the beans :).
+Jeremy Miguire (Raptor Killa) I should have the beans spilled by later today with detailed pics and video of that deeper problem
yep its the bowl jets ports, love this vid
Bowl jet ports? I need to look into that
Need More Videos!!!
i was just watching ome of ur vids and when is ir banshee coming back
Soon :)
Just need to wait to sell somthing for the $5k worth of parts i am going to stick to her.
+StarPuss www.ToxicRedNeck.Com I know that feeling! wait for my next video! going to post another banshee update here soon. this video was recorded last week and a lot has happened since then. (Expensive things!)

Please tell me how you got the rear lights to be green I tried everything to make mines blue please respond 🙏🏼
sum1 tell me how to make the rear lights green
Nice Banshee dude
+TheAug105 thank you!
+TrailBlogger I like more The other lights
TheAug105 You like the KC lights more?
+TrailBlogger Yea with The smiles
TheAug105 ok those might come back but with LED replacement bulbs instead this time.
Hearing it start made me so happy. Why won’t my banshee start. Please reply if you know what I can do to fix this. I’ll take any response from anyone
Drain the tank. Add fresh premix fuel ( I like to mix at 32 to 1). If it won't start see if you have spark by holding one of the plugs against metal while you kick it over. If you have spark good. Will do thanks man
If you need more info on doing those tests like compression test and leak down South Texas banshee has a bunch of videos on here demonstrating
I’ve watched most of his vids🤣
They are great videos. Sparkys garage is another older channel similar how to videos
Hi man I got a question I've seen your videos and saw u own both a banshee and yfz 450 I'm about to buy one and I'm in between on of this which one would you recommend better great videos by the way

SWEET!!!
Hey bro I hope you see this but please tell me how you get the break lights to be green or what did you buy for it to be green please respond 🙏🏼
You keep saying in the comments things got much much much more worse... Not even my quad and I'm scared lol
+The Lone Rider MUCH, MUCH WORSE
+TrailBlogger stop your making it worse!
Any compression check plugs carbs air filter blown
Can you make a video about your led light bar?
+max21118 Yes I have been testing it out to be sure it will work good with the stock electronics before I recommended it to anyone. Haven't decided if I like it better than the KC or 4" LED pod lights.
+TrailBlogger It looks really nice.
I love banshees 😍
Fouled plug ?
+z skinner No I put fresh plugs in right before this also, sorry forgot to mention that part. Unfortunately things appear to be much, much worse. Stay tuned.
What do you mix your oil and gas at? I have an 05 banshee and have been mixing it at 40:1 with fully synthetic oil.
+John Tsunis I normally run 32 to 1 Blendzall 2 stroke oil but in this case I mixed at 40 to 1 because I owed Crazy D a gallon and he prefers it mixed at 40 to 1.
Where did you get those spider tracs? Are they Dick Cepek or ITP?
+brandon w They are ITP Spider Tracs. They actually came off an old Yamaha Warrior I bought awhile back. Guy was using them for his dune and snow tires.
Im having same problem wit my banshee

TrailBlogger what size cc is your banshee in this video ?
Bro my leg is broken 💔
My bike turns on after kicking it for an hour but it won’t stay on not even when gassing it
Compression test the top end
starting fluid
when is your next trail video??
+Danny Lopez SOON! Need to get all the cob webs out first. Banshee needs some love. Shee still wasnt running right after we got done recording this and then things got much, much worse. Stay tuned. Posting another update about the Banshee and then hopefully a new trail video will be after that.
Where will it get those parts from
I bought them from inland_atv on ebay. They have a great store
Noah my Banshee was running awesome put her in the barn n went 2 start her next morning n nothing I changed gas n going 2 start in on coils n other shit tomorrow if I don't go mad. Any ideas be nice.
Did you figure it out?
@@imortalaztec no luck, it's been a minute since ol girl ran, I plan on rebuilding her in a month or so. I hope 2.
Whats the first thing you should do if you're banshee has been sitting in the garage for years?
Change the gas??🤷♂️
Plugs/wires? Maybe?
Clean the carbs
i let my bike sit for 3 months and turned the choke on kicked it 6 times giving it no gas and it fired right up!
Everything is stock and it doesn't have a leak
+Marques Conerly They come tuned pretty lean from the factory to pass EPA standards. Need to open her up so she can breath better. Add a decent new exhaust pipe and fuel injection programmer plus a new air intake and she will run a lot better. You wont have to work the engine as hard to get more power out of it which in the end will make it last longer.
What's up with the exhaust on the green banshee? Why does it look like the end of a trumpet lol.
lol they kind of sound like pissed off trumpets too, they are spark arrestor tips.
+TrailBlogger Ohhhh okay sweet. Thanks for the answer!!
My motor was been sitting about 4 months covered up and stored proplery it has good compression and has spark but want crank yoy think i need too clean my carbs?
only take a few months for the gas in the carbs to turn into a nice jelly, you could try just draining the bowl and flushing the gas in your tank out with all fresh premix,
cleaning and syncing the carbs is never a bad idea but I would just try fresh gas and 2 spark plugs first
How do I know if it's lean or not I just check the oil and gas tire pressure just the basic stuff, I don't know about a programmer
+Marques Conerly It will run lean if there are leaks around the intake boot. Look for cracks in the rubber. Do you have the stock exhaust pipe or an aftermarket exhaust? Most of the time when you install an aftermarket exhaust you also install a programmer with it that you can use to adjust the mixture if it is too lean or rich.
whats the light setup?
12" auxbeam standard lightbar. 72 watt i think. went back to two rounds bu it worked great
I have a raptor 700r is a normal at night in the cold when I ride the exhaust turns really red
Kenneth Daeke how long are you idling it before it turns red? what kind of exhuast? the titanium ones will do that for sure
If its battery under the seat check that
+Ray Torres No battery on the Banshees. Just a kick start.
I Waiting for your trails video
+TheAug105 Stay tuned. Posting another update about the Banshee engine and then hopefully a new trail video will be after that.
mines doin the same thing, ripped intake boots
+marks79luv no my intake boots are fine, Shee still wasnt running right after we got done recording this and then things got much, much worse. Stay tuned.
Clean the Jets
marks79luv Jets are spotless, unfortunately this appears to be much, much worse. Stay tuned.
+TrailBlogger how big of a light bar dose it have?
+Luke Johnson that's a 16" LED light bar
+TrailBlogger sweet, looking forward to your next video
+Luke Johnson Thanks! I can't wait to get out there and ride again!
I just realized how stupid we all sound trying to describe what the engine is doing.... haha
***** weirdest part is it passed both a compression test and a leak down test. sometimes you just have to break down and tear her apart lol
+TrailBlogger Yup as hard as it'd be you gotta do what you gotta do lol
I did that too
what your green yamaha banshee year 2006
Green banshee is a 1998. Thanks for watching.
Push start it tow it behind the cummins
Austin Allen lol never do this
TrailBlogger lol too late
I can't figure out how to private message you but my cousin has a banshee that's been sitting for years and I want to buy it for about 2 grand is it a good deal and any tips to get it running again I want to take it to apex in Las Vegas where I live
+Noah does it have spark? when was the last time it ran? can you do a compression test on it to see if the engine is even in good shape?
+TrailBlogger I messaged my cousin to see if he still has the quad but most likely just gona buy one off of Craigslist
+TrailBlogger and what size led bar you have
Noah 12" light bar from AUXBEAM.COM
y u changed tha lights tha yellow one looked betta
+YuNg THEO Just trying something different. I still have the yellow KC lights if I want to go back. I like the LEDs more because they are brighter.

+TrailBlogger yeah maybe the video made it look weird. Rebuild sucks. Good luck
+HARD ENDURO Your comment did remind me of the very first dirt bike I ever owned which was a KTM 420 two stroke monster. what kind of exhaust?
toomey T5
oh ok
Wet spark
Haha close one
what pipes are on it?
Toomey T5
The scilencers too?
yeah they are T5 silencers with Toomey Spark arrestor end caps.
+TrailBlogger they look sick
That’s what happens when you don’t properly store your toys folks
It gets worse watch lol
Mine won't start at all
+Jake Hinman Does it have spark and compression? Those are the first two things to look at.
can i have your email address, wanna enquire more about banshees, got the 07 model
You don't have neighbours? :P
+NukaMoto At a friend's shop in the country and it was not that late yet anyhow
push start
+Caron Dennis we decided on a total rebuild instead
"much much worse" ha-ha
+Jacob Hildebrand MUCH
+TrailBlogger :)
first view
38th view
+Dieonte P123 technically I watched it first but hey, let's not split hairs here
+TrailBlogger. aahhhhhh you right you right lol😂😂
Hey bro I hope you see this but please tell me how you get the break lights to be green or what did you buy for it to be green please respond 🙏🏼
i have an LED underglow strip mounted to the frame above and behind the engine. hope that helps.
