The world building of COD’s zombies, especially the Dark Aether saga, is truly amazing. This should really be its own series. An animated series or comic book.
Ah that’s good. Too bad this story didn’t really contribute much to Cold War zombies. Now that Kortifex and von list are dead they might make some comic book or something that leads up to zykov and the forsaken and to die macshine.
I think the whole point of this games story was to set up the Elder Gods for the next game that are most likely going to reappear with Zykov’s fall in Forsaken and 5 years passes so the Elder Gods may have retaken control of the Dark Aether because of that opportunity. Hoping they do actually use these Elder Gods and artifacts stuff to me it’s a lot cooler and interesting than the Forsaken was.

I do wish that with the storylined that eneded with the OG crew. I was hoping they would do like a parallel universe with the same characters but remix everything. Kinda "grounding" the zombie outbreak wity more horror elements in zombies. Like the first zombies map in Vanguard, the color and horror aspects gave me hope that maybe they were gonna do something along those lines.

Some of the questions I have are how are the keepers/apothicons connected to the dark either entities and the construct? Were the entities there before the keepers arrived and eventually became the apothicons or did they come after? Like did the apothicons and the shadow man show up and rule it for a time until the elder gods took over again or were there just no gods at that time? and if the 1st archon used the construct to eradicate a parasitic species, then why are the apothicons present and responsible for the events of the original aether story? Unless of course they were eradicated after the events of tag Der toten.
Anything trayarch has the opportunity to make the zombies a big circle because it's either and dark either maybe monty was cast from the dark either into the aether storyline to cast it into the ever chaotic cycle it had so maybe Eddie remembers that time line and is trying to reset it with the forsaken and maxis is the one meant to stop him by reviving both crews we know into the dark either
Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if he was where our old crew thought we broke the cycle but we’re just in a new cycle now eddie is def coming back now
Vanguard Zombies felt like such an oddball in not only the Dark Aether saga, but with the entirety of the zombies mode altogether. They definitely had issues when making not just the gameplay but the story to this game as well. Although, despite it's flaws it did try to at least set some things up for future story related lore content, which may help to fill in some blanks or to revisit some things that may be relevant later on in the story... but, yeah, that's about all this game really had, though. It will be interesting to see what happens in the upcoming games in the series.
With Samantha stuck in the dark aether is a perfect opportunity to make a new grew Samantha can make a new crew in the aether and they could have a story and great round maps that take place in the aether with Samantha trying to fight to live and escape the aether
It's just too bad they didn't have the time to turn it into a good game. If this was what we were getting for BO6, I'm certain it would've been much better.
honestly not a bad story. i really wish treyarch got more time and a larger budget to make this game since it feels like they had some really good ideas with alot of potential. i think even the gameplay style was a good idea just executed badly. smaller scale objective rounds with optional round based in the void. if the objectives were more engaging and easter eggs and wonder weapons were present, then i think the communities perception around this game couldve been so different. oh well
So… they created a ton of lore for the dark aether that ties our old story in and is super interesting… and then they just didn’t write a coherent story for the game. Cool. Sounds about right for a game Treyarch didn’t know they were going to have to make.

Can someone tell me how or where the proof of this dark aether existing within the aether storyline? I assumed that this dark aether only began after the previous timeline ended
You never paid attention lol. The dark Aether is what corrupted the keepers aka what created the war. Apoco are results of keepers being infected by the dark Aether. Obvious this vid was 2 years ago but it’s definitely looking like Manti was the first champion to be picked cus he definitely knew about the artifact
@kvngcjgaming5559 I kinda get that, but those within the dark aether apparently never knew of the other realm until tag happened and everything was sent to the dark aether, idk seems weird the keepers could be corrupted and nothing in the dark aether knew about it until the multiverse or whatever was banished to the DA

Either that orrr misty and her gang is still trapped in the Dark ether so wouldn’t be surprised if eddy finds them either and we’re back with that crew.

I mean if you think about it Nacht should be the absolute zero point if that is where the OG crew died. They killed an endless amount of timelines and people at their campsite so that spot would have the largest amount of death ever and would be like taking a chainsaw to a plywood wall

Rewatching this to prepare for Citadelle des morts. What’s still crazy to me is how cool the vanguard storyline was and how bad the gameplay was lol.
