Looking back.. This indeed marked the birth of a betterment of South Africa with great, hope & vigor. As to how we got to where we are today.😭 As to how we became
While we were caught in anticipation of political victory frenzy, the enemy had a strategy to dismantle the movement by absorbing many of its leaders into top economic positions to ensure the exclusive systems were maintained and this changed much of their focus into self enrichment with many becoming instant millionaires, and once such happened it was only a matter before the wheels came off. There are many then young leaders who have become too rich to bother about what they once fought for.
@@cliffordsebone3673 What is your actual point? Obviously two-thirds in percentage is anything above 66.6%. ANC missed that mark by 2.9% in the first elections, which is insignificant. If there was a 5% barrier (like in most western democracies) that excludes insiginificant parties from entering the parliament, then ANC would have won a clear two-thirds majority. So they basically decided to give a few parliament seats to insignigicant parties.

People forget that without the SACP the ANC would struggle to win majority. The other issue is the IFP was big in KZN in 1994. Look at how the capital of the province was Ulundi and Martizburg. The highest number of votes won by the ANC was in 2004, after the formation of the DA. What was left of the NNP was swallowed up by the ANC and the DP and NNP for the DA. It's why Tony Leon always had a government job until he left.
The ANC died with Chris Hani, Oliver Thambo, Walter Sisulu, Goven Mbeki and ultimately Nelson Mandela. The people who were suppose to take the baton failed.
