For the vinyls, I feel like you'd have much better luck on Craigslist or a thrift store, and then just removing the labels; then you'd have your varied grooves and wouldn't have to mess with the gotchas :)

Thanks for the post. I have plenty of old vinyl. Issue is glue is so strong that getting the labels is a PITA.

You can put used paint brushes in the freezer so the paint on them won't dry out. Then just let them defrost before using again.
