Very good job. I rarely comment on RUclips, and I never subscribe, but I must say in your case I made an exception. I like your delivery, and your thoroughness. Just a note, I especially like the fact you didn’t ask me to subscribe or “smash that like button“ until the end of the video, lots of guys ask you to do it at the start, before you know whether you want to or not.
Hey, I have a question. Am I able to have both the usb-c method connected as well as the elgato. Use the usb-c for charging off computer and use the elgato so I can use the 4k quality?
Hey thanks for watching! Yes, it would be possible to use the USB-C for the charging aspect only while using the Elgato 4k for the streaming capability simultanously.
Hey man. So i have an issue where whenever i try to actually use it as a webcam the only image any of the software i'm using gets is just that "imaging edge webcam logo" and it never goes away. Got any idea what's up there? I appreciate you.
Thanks for the video! I’m looking to stream a live event and wanted to know whether the streaming frame rate matter? which one would you recommend to set on the FX3; 24/30fps or 50/60fps?
Hey thanks for watching. This depends on a number of factors such as the type of event/content you plan to stream, network speeds(higher frame rate=higher bitrate required), and or how you want your audience to view the content(personal preference) and other factors. For example, if your live streaming action sports, a higher frame rate would be ideal. If you’re streaming a podcast, a lower frame rate would be fine to use. There are factors that would play a role in which would be ideal to use.
Can't you just livestream with the camlink method and then charge with usbc connected to a wall bank, and just have spare battery fully charged just in case?
@@JarodYounger Did all that and still nothing. So strange. I was just using it recently. Works fine in Zoom but also won't show up in the Windows 10 camera app either.
is something wrong if you are only getting mic audio when you record? What should the mic setting on the handle be? Because it's not just showing up with the monitoring on ..only when you press record on the camera.
Hey Jawn, Thanks for watching. Would you be able to provide more info on what exactly is going on? Are you using the USB or the Elgato cam link method? Are you saying that you are not able to get audio from the FX3 Audio handle when streaming/recording in OBS(or another software) unless you hit the record button on the FX3? Are you getting no audio at all unless you hit the record button on the camera? Are you on a windows PC or a Mac? Thanks
@@JarodYounger hey jarod, thanks for responding. im using the cam link method and yes the audio from the handle, i only see the monitor lines move on obs if i press record on the camera, im using pc. no audio comes out otherwise . i have recorded video directly from obs and i don't hear audio unless i press record
Hmm, sounds like a possible setting issue in windows(OBS) or the camera. Do you have the cam link added as both a video capture device and an audio device in OBS? I’m able to get audio from the handle without pressing the record button on the FX3. Let me know if you have the cam link added as a audio device as well in OBS
Unfortunately the FX6 is not supported by the Sony imaging webcam app. It may however work using the Elgato cam link method but I can’t say for sure though. Maybe if someone comes across this video who has one can verify here. In theory if the FX6 has a HDMI output, I don’t see why the cam link method would not work.
Hey! Great tutorial, I'm just having an issue where I can see the FX3 in the Sony Imaging Edge, but when I go to Zoom / Google Meet, it doesn't give me the option to choose that as a camera. Any idea why that would be?
Thank you! Are you on a Mac or Windows pc? After you installed the Sony imaging edge webcam software did you restart your computer? Make sure it’s the “Sony imaging edge webcam” app that you’re installing. I have it linked in the videos description.
For Ventura OS 13.4.1(mentioned in video) the app seems broken so I would assume it’s the same for any higher Ventura OS version sadly. It was likely broken by Apple and Sony never released an update to patch it unfortunately. The software’s last update for Mac by Sony was in 2021, so the software support seems non-existent at this point. Maybe Sony has something new in the works, hopefully. The only way I got it to work was with the elgato cam link method but that would be an expensive alternative just to use the FX3 as a webcam.
weak AF that Sony has such a low res via USBC (and doesn't work for updated versions of mac anyway). Need to drop more $ on ElGato Cam Link 4k to really do this properly (AND carry an HDMI cable)
I saw 999 subscribers and I had to push it to 1K! Fantastic content , bro - keep up the good work!
Your a legend, much appreciated and thank you 🙏
well done great info
This was Exactly what I needed. Great work

Thank you
Nice tutorial, Jarod! Really like how you put this together. Great info 👏
Thank you!
Thank you for putting this together. If you don't mind, I wanted to suggest cutting down your videos, this one is 17mins could have been 5min.
Thanks for this.
You’re welcome!
This is great!
Nice setup bro😊
Thank you
Hi. Great video. Did you use fx3 to record this video? And what lens did you use? Thanks
All the talking head footage and some of the B-roll was shot on a FX3. Talking head shots were filmed on the 50mm 1.2 GM on FX3.

Hey, thanks for the comment. Just to confirm, what is a wall bank? I’m not familiar with that, please explain. Thanks!
any suggestions if Camlink doesn't work in Teams but just fine in Zoom?
1.Check for updates in teams 2. reboot the machine 3. also maybe make sure teams had permissions to access camera.
@@JarodYounger Did all that and still nothing. So strange. I was just using it recently. Works fine in Zoom but also won't show up in the Windows 10 camera app either.
@Mattithias make sure the camlink is plugged into a USB 3.0 port or higher. Not much more I can think of at the moment.
Imnpressive production quality for such a small channel.

Great video bud!I see the cam link offers 1080p for the Fx3. Any other way to get the 4k resolution for streaming on the Fx3?
Thanks! The cam link offers 4k streaming as well. Unfortunately, I’m not currently aware of another option for the FX3. Not to say there aren’t any.
wow❤❤❤
