Brothers and sisters, people of good will!
The number of those heroes hasn't been precisely specified. Acording to historical facts there were between 335 and 635 Polish soldiers fighting in Battle of Wizna.
Nevertheless independent historians agree that the number was just over 500.
Consider 40.800 strong German Wehrmacht army supported by 350 tanks, 650 artillery pieces and Luftwaffe (german aircraft)
the ratio drastically changes to 80 :1
300 SPARTANS is the beautiful Legend.
BATTLE OF WIZNA is real story of 500 living men, heroes ready to die for their fathers land and families fighting over 40.000 strong army.
Thumb Up! Many thanks for sharing!

Well... Germany 3.0 had more tanks, but at that time they were still using a lot of horses. They won for min. 5 reasons: 1. We were preparing for WWI tactics, not blitzkrieg.
      2. We weren't fully mobilised, because the UK wanted to prevent escalation.
      3. We were stabbed in the back trice: by Germany because we signed non-aggression pact, by USSR for the same reason, and by the allies who didn't want another great war, which castrated them and it is understandable.
      4. Before 1938 we were in neutral/cordial relationship with Germany and our plans and preparations were for the war with USSR, because of that our border with Germany wasn't fortified in time.
      5. Germany broke almost every international law in the case of the war, so war crimes.

That is a valid point, but same can be said for 1939 as it mainly focused on just Poland. Though the disputed dates really depend on the nation. As an Asian, I see it as the war starting in 1931. My fellow American classmates on the other hand consider WW2 to start in 1939 with the invasion of Poland or 1941 with the attack on Pearl Harbor. I've compiled a list of general years I notice many choose to consider "The start of WW2"
      1931, Invasion of Manchuria
      1935, Occupation of the Rhineland
      1936, Spanish Civil War
      1937, Marco Polo Bridge incident
      1938, Anschluss with Austria
1939, Invasion of Poland and Czechoslovakia
1940, Invasion of Western Europe, the Phony War, and the Blitz

There was all so a polish commander, Stanisław Maczek who's brigade was all so the only polish tank force took on 3 German divisions only retreating once there flanks where exposed and then fought till the end escaping in to neutral countries and going to France. He never lost a battle in Poland. In France he wrote up the German battle doctrine and how to beat it. It was ignored. His men got tanks and equipment when Germany entered France. His reformered brigade again was never defeated. He was forced to destroy there gear and escape through France to Africa where he was able to reform in England. Seeing how Stanisław Maczek was in charge of a undefeated motorized infantry brigade in two countries that lost a war with out him loosing a battle I say the polish did a lot.

What are 7 days of resistance if you think about the fact that they fell anyway after a mere two weeks? I'm not saying it's not impressive, or that they shouldn't have resisted. Just that it didn't matter in the end, and that those soldiers gave their lifes for NOTHING. (like actually every soldier ever did)
